I watched this on TV last night and was very moved by it. This child was born with 8 limbs due to a conjoined "parasitic twin".
The mother said, a few days before the child was born she had a dream about the goddess Lakshmi, and was told to make a temple for her.
After her daughter was born, although she fainted for two days at the shock, she recovered and she and villagers all saw the girl as a great blessing.In time, news reached the doctor who wanted to try and help her.
It was a tough decision to make for the parents but they knew in the end it would be the right one.
And at the end of the documentary, Lakshmi's mother said that to her, Lakshmi would always be the goddess. Whenever she ever prayed for anything, it always came true.
I too believe this little girl is a blessing.
Love is the highest force in the universe, and perhaps her story will help to bring relief to other disadvantaged children.
