O'Bomber is sending his army of Brown Shirt Fascists to have a little talk with you...as he has said, to get in your faces.

With their "loyalty" sworn to O'Bomber, not America, not the Constitution, not the American flag, not the law, nor to American values, they're going to have a little talk with you to get you to swear "loyalty" to O'Bomber too. Seig Heil Comrades.

The Knock on the Door
By Lona Manning

A sitting President of the United States is "organizing a political organization loyal to him, bound by a pledge, outside the government and existing party apparatus. The historical precedents are ominous."

What is so ominous about an organization? Americans, Alexis de Tocqueville famously observed, "constantly form associations.... If it is proposed to inculcate some truth or to foster some feeling by the encouragement of a great example, they form a society."

Certainly, thousands of organizations seek to influence the political debate. There's Newt Gingrich's American Solutions or the left-wing People for the American Way, for instance.

Political parties are another example of an association, of course. Before, during and after political campaigns, the Democrats and Republicans promote their agendas. As legal entities, they have their own constitutions, their rules of business, their chairmen and officers. They have to be accountable to both the government and their members.

But there is a new organization on the political scene -- "Organizing for America," announced by President Barack Obama in late January but officially unfurled last weekend.

Obama describes OFA as a "grass-roots movement" but OFA is a "project" of the Democratic Natrional Committee.

As Politico reported, OFA will take the 10 million person database built up by the Obama campaign "to mobilize support for the president's legislative agenda."

A visit to the OFA website reveals that supporters are not simply asked to sign up, they are asked to take a pledge. A pledge to support -- not the flag, not the constitution, not the country, not even the Democratic Party, but Obama and his "bold plan." OFA does not use the Democratic Party logo but the "O"-shaped logo of the Obama campaign in which the red white and blue of the flag are abstracted to soft pastel colors.

(Celebrities like Ashton Kuchner and Demi Moore did not wait until the official launch to "pledge to be of service" to Barack Obama, of course.)

You will not find any mention of OFA`s governing structure, their budget, their bylaws, or their officers at the OFA website. Donations to the website go to the DNC, but OFA is managed out of the White House. If you click on the comments button, you are taken to a link to the White House email.

Those who take the pledge are asked to "talk with people about the President's plan" and to "ask them to sign their names to the pledge" in support of Obama's policies.

So we have a Movement -- this is their term, not mine -- organized by, and loyal to, a sitting President. Pledge canvassers, armed with your name, will ask you to pledge loyalty to the President too. A president whose term has already become a permanent campaign, is signing up ground forces in a mass organization pledged to personal loyalty to their Leader.

Does anyone know of any historical precedents for this in the United States?

Did Mitch Stewart, youthful director of OFA, who asks Obama's acolytes to organize "neighborhood by neighborhood" study anything at school about Mao's "Red Guards?

How about Fidel Castro's "widespread system of neighborhood informers"?

Or Hugo Chavez's use of "neighborhood committees"?

Did Stewart learn anything about democracy at all?

Do any of Obama's pledged servants understand why a sitting president has no business creating and deploying his own supporters to help organize their neighbors?

Keep in mind that these acolytes have renounced any thought of questioning the actual policies of the maximum leader. Whatever he says, they are for it. They have given their word.

And they are coming to have a talk with you.

As Thomas Lifson wrote, "This is not the way a democracy is supposed to operate."

scary if you take it to that conclusion, jwhop, but is this also from the enquirer, a source i have noticed in more than one of your posts? is it published alongside the "end of the world" cover stories? where does it come from?

and what is wrong with people canvassing information to the public? hardly brownshirts marching in the streets...

or do you think we should all make up our minds based on info from the enquirer??

The American Thinker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from American Thinker)
Jump to: navigation, search
The American Thinker is a daily conservative website dealing with American politics, national security, economics, diplomacy, culture, and military strategy.[1] The articles published are often mentioned on The Rush Limbaugh Show, and the site has been mentioned in leading newspapers including Le Monde,[2] The Guardian, [3] and the New York Times.

Writing in The Nation about what he describes as "a smear campaign" against Barack Obama, Ari Berman says "At the fulcrum of this effort is a little-known blogger from Northbrook, Illinois, named Ed Lasky, whose articles on AmericanThinker.com have done more than anything to give the smear campaign an air of respectability."[4]

Writing in the New York Times, Felicity Barringer credited American Thinker with initiating a public outcry over a California plan to require programmable thermostats which could be controlled by officials in the event of power supply difficulties.[5]

The publisher of American Thinker is Thomas Lifson, and the Political Director is Richard Baehr. Key staff also include Rick Moran and J. R. Dunn. AT reserves "the right to be partisan", hence donations are not exempt from taxes.[6]

From the American Thinker:

"The O Men commeth
Annie Lake

An undercover visit to Obama's ‘Organizing for America' website reveals that His mass following is reaching out for converts and money. The O Men commeth, and a Knock on the Door is heading my way.

I signed into the site using a fake name and gmail account to get a password. Inside the site, I typed in my zip code and discovered several upcoming events near here. On Saturday the 21st, OFA volunteers will meet at a suburban Democratic Party office and a nearby Chicago ward office for "training" and then canvas the neighborhood in a "pledge drive," seeking both new supporters and donations.

"We'll be going door-to-door and covering public places to enlist our friends and neighbors to pledge their support to the President's efforts to revitalize our economy, create new jobs, and invest in the future," the site promises.

Keep in mind, I only typed in one zip code. Presumably, canvassing will be going on in many, many zip codes. The Obots are on the march!

Under my fake name, the site suggests I take action to show my support of O: besides attending the Saturday events, I could host an event, make phone calls, knock on doors, or blog. The site created a page for me, not unlike a Facebook page, where I am supposed to keep a log of my "service" to pump up "my activity index" (currently zero, where it shall remain). Clicking on a "My friends" tab brought up a list of six other volunteers, in case I want to meet more Obots (I don't). Alternatively, I could attend an "economic recovery meeting" at an obscure Evangelical church in Chicago (No, thanks. Jesus and Marxism don't mix).

What "service" for America will I do on March 21st? No doubt, in my heavily Democratic town, the Obots will knock on my door. I guess I could videotape their spiel.

I could also follow the canvassers to see what kind of reception they get. Having copied the Mormon/Jehovah's Witness method of operation, will they get the same treatment? Will doors open, open just a crack, or not open at all even though people are home? Will they succeed in winning more supporters? We shall see. "

It is a pity she couldn't be bothered to find out WHAT they plan on doing to all these unsuspecting targets. Brownshirts indeed!! since when is organizing canvassers unconstitutional?

like i said, scary if you swallow it whole, jw, but what about critical thinking? actually checking these guys out? tell me something real about these guys, not just more propaganda.

Of course American Thinker is a partisan source of information. That doesn't mean American Thinker is a "lying source" of information..like the New York Times, Associated Press, Washington Post, LA Times...to cite a few examples of the "lying press" in the so called main stream media.

Now, if you take issue with American Thinker, you can list here the lies you've found in what they've written..or what I've posted here...and good luck with that.

American Thinker is an opinion journal. The difference between American Thinker and the examples of the "lying press" I cited is that the "lying press" puts their opinions, speculations, suppositions, gossip, innuendo and outright lies in what they call the News, on the News pages...as opposed to confining all that to their editorial pages.

You aren't smearing someone when you're telling the truth about them. In the case of O'Bomber it's difficult to imagine being able to actually smear a person who lies at the drop of a hat, has broken virtually every campaign promise and has such a radical agenda he's even proposing American military personnel injured on the battlefield pay for their own medical treatment.

Your real problem is not that O'Bomber is being smeared. Your real problem is that the truth is being told about the Marxist Socialist O'Bomber.

i wasn't complaining about obama being smeared. that was mentioned in the wikipedia info on american thinker. i was asking some questions which i don't think brands me as a follower, a complainer or anything of the sort.

thank you for the clips and excerpts. but i hardly think this can be called "secret" if it is out there. i will look into it.

the kids and the chanting ARE scary. but i see no indication that obama is responsible for their training or the content of their chanting. he is being creditted with inspiring some black kids to be more than the stereotype. that much is obvious to a lot of people. the fact that they are performing military style chants meant to implant affirmations in their minds is not that extraordinary, distasteful as it is. this whole "boot camp" style of training has become popular over the last decade or so and the kids could have decided to take responsibility for their lives on their own for all i know.

and no, being partisan doesn't mean lying it means seeing only the truth you want to see.

i haven't heard of any plans to take away military medical coverage. is that part of creating universal health coverage which would cover them anyway?? or are you saying obama wants to penalize people who join the armed forces?

That challenge sounds remarkably familiar Jwhop. Isn't that the one I always give you when you try to claim the MSM lies? If you were more open to more reasonable sources of fact, you'd have seen some stuff you'd like from a couple of my favorites:

Obama's Education Spin

Obama's lobbyist rule: Promise Broken

Boehner has said no to earmarks (True)

There are more...

But who cares about fact checking or truth when you have an opinion journal to turn to?

Hey, look!

A propping up of a group of actual Yes Men!

You know, not the kind that Bush was accused of keeping around him. In other words, the "they're Yes Men because they're in the same party" kind. Oh, no sir. Obama is about to outdo himself now. He's going to do the real thing!

Hey, kat.

I was simply making a reference to the controversy purported by the MSM that made a case against Bush's leadership by supporting the perspective that he surrounded himself with sycophants ("Yes Men") unable to speak out against his ideas. These accusations reeked of faux erudition that at the very least aimed at conveying Bush as an incompetent megalomaniac.

Now that the tables are turned again, those very same accusations would actually carry a little more weight this time around and, uninterestingly enough, the MSM is now maintaining more of an "objective" approach. Now they are being "rational".

Here we have an unparalleled course of action by a President of the U.S. that is conspicuous, to say the least. In its worst-case scenario, it becomes a measure of dire concern as it may easily be theoretically applied as the arising of Obama's "national security force". In its not-as-worse-case scenario, this "canvassing" becomes an unmasking of the weaknesses in our President's thinking.
For example, there's the duplicity involved when comparing the arrogance of his "I won" statement to the implications arising out of this "needed" canvassing. A lot of the occurrences in a little over 2 months of him taking office is enough to substantiate the concerns over Obama's lack of executive experience and only worsens the doubts about the ability of our newly elected President to lead. After all, as President of our Republic, the priority of serving in the best interests of the people of this nation do not include the politicization of the masses. This is not mob rule. The people serve as the judge of our government's performance, not as jury.

All the while, the MSM seems quite civilized despite all the ammunition that is handed nearly everyday. Now that a "good guy" is in the seat, there's no need for creating hysteria.

Nosis i appreciate your point. however canvassing the public is one way of finding out what people think, not just of persuading them to think on his side. when was the last time an elected president actually sent people door-to-door like this? i can't remember it ever.

and i don't notice any uniforms or pressure going on.

as to the security force i am TRYING to read the bill that provides for the programs for "service training" and it is so far all about funding programs for volunteers, not about requiring anything from the people.

while admitting the possible sinister interpretations of this effort so far it just looks like a)expanding programs like the peace corps, americorps, vista; and b)including in education set-ups an outlet and (probably some indoctrination) for volunteers to train for community service.
and while that could be considered overreach there was a time when people considered it their duty as citizens to help the less advantaged. these days community service is used as punishment widely in schools and communities. which is pathetic too!

i am not sticking up for the man or the bills. but most people don't read them (and its obvious why since they are long and tediously written!), just the biassed reports from news sources of questionable objectivity.

the "teleprompter" site if you read any of the comments is frequented by people who say things like "michelle obama - james brown in drag" - what does that say about the site itself?

Obama volunteers hunt budget support in Birmingham, Alabama grassroots campaign
Sunday, March 22, 2009
ANNA VELASCONews staff writer

Volunteers fanned out across the Birmingham area and Alabama Saturday to pump up enthusiasm for President Barack Obama's budget proposal in much the same way they did to win over voters during the presidential campaign.

About 30 volunteers in Birmingham canvassed shopping areas and other high-traffic locations to talk about the need for health care reform, an education overhaul and environmentally friendly energy development.

"If we don't change these three things in the next 10 to 15 years, America is over as we know it," Chris DeHaven, told the group of volunteers before they went their separate ways.

Obama's plan faces criticism from Republicans and others who say it's too expensive. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report Friday saying Obama's agenda would cause huge budget deficits, forcing the country to borrow $9.3 trillion in the next decade.

Those who gathered at Kelly Ingram Park in downtown Birmingham were urged to enlist others who share Obama's vision and to stay away from trying to convert naysayers.

"We're looking for supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

The volunteers are part of Organizing for America, the same grassroots, national network credited in large part with Obama's quick rise from obscurity to president. Birmingham and 11 other sites statewide were part of a national push this weekend by Organizing for America to trumpet Obama's spending proposal.

Across the metro area, volunteers gave their opinions about why Obama's plan is good for the country's future. Then they asked those willing to sign a pledge of support for the budget. Supporters' e-mail addresses and other contact information were collected, to keep people engaged and to recruit more volunteers.

Leanne Townsend of Hoover also helped organize Saturday's event. She has been a member of the Obama grassroots network since March 2007.

"Our group in Birmingham has been very involved," Townsend said. "We're still very energetic. We all worked so hard during the campaign. We can't just stop."

Just putting the same amount of effort you put in to trying to prove your claim that the basic MSM is "lying."..acoustic

I suppose this statement is proof you have your head so far up your ass you aren't able to open your eyes acoustic.

The lies of the so called main stream media have been posted here...on this forum for years...and they were called out as lies. So acoustic, where have you had your head..and eyes all these years?

There was the lie printed in the NY Times about how great things were in the Soviet Union...no one starving there...while 9-12 million citizens were starving. Pulitzer Prize for that one.

There was the story on CBS News when Walter Cronkite said..."the war is lost"...speaking of the Vietnam War after the Tet Offensive. The Tet Offensive was a colossal military disaster and defeat for North Vietnam and the Viet Cong; yet Uncle Walter delivered his lying report to the American people...we lost.

There was the story about Fidel Castro...he was a land reformer, not a communist...reported by the NY Times and other lying MSM sources.

There was the story about 20,000 tons of high explosives pilfered right under the noses of advancing US military troops in Iraq..jumped on by every lying MSM outlet in America. It was a total lie.

There was the story about US military forces bogged down and meeting heavy resistance outside Basra in Iraq 2 days into the invasion phase. Another lying story printed and picked up by other lying MSM sources. US military forces paused to let their supply lines catch up with the fighting units.

There was the lying story about US military forces not safeguarding the Iraqi museum...and priceless artifacts being looted/stolen. No they weren't, they were locked in the safe in the basement.

There was the story about Korans in the toilet at Gitmo. Another lying story printed by a MSM source, picked up and spread around the country and world by other lying members of the MSM. Of course, the writer apologized for taking the word of terrorists incarcerated at Gitmo but about 16 people were killed as a result of this lying story. Last time I checked, they're still dead.

There was the story about the Bush Administration retaliating against poor Joe Wilson for his story in the NY Times. This lying story was picked up and spread around the country and the world by virtually all the MSM for a period of almost 2 years. But Bush had nothing to do with outing Valarie Plame and neither did anyone in the Bush Administration. That was Richard Armitage...an Iraq War opponent.

Even when their lie isn't central to the story they're attempting to put forth, the lying MSM still slip total lies into their stories...and stories is the right term here since most of what the MSM prints are fairy tales. The latest example was a story posted here where the so called reporter said the US broke diplomatic relations with Iran...because of the overthrow of the Shah. What bilge. The US broke diplomatic relations with Iran because...Iran invaded the US embassy, took US diplomats hostage and held them for 444 days.

There was the lying story by Damn Blather about Bush being AWOL while a member of the Texas Air Nation Guard. A story based on forged documents so fake that the authenticators CBS hired to authenticate the documents refused to do so. CBS and Dan Blather went with the story anyway.

Perhaps if you could manage to pull your head out acoustic, you'd be able to see some of those stories you missed...oh, and acoustic, this is just a small, very small sampling of the lies printed and broadcast by the MSM, posted here and called out for the lies they were.

I've repeatedly challenged you to pick up a paper, and find a "lie" yourself, and you've consistently punted. That you've found other people's work is of little consequence to me. What matters is whether or not this is common practice, and if it is, why can't you cite something daily or even weekly?

The same way I always have. Of course you continue to punt (as you like to say) when challenged on this, because some part of you knows, rationally, that you are the one lying, not the press. If you go looking at AP news articles from today, you're not likely to find any attempt at deception. This is why you don't EVER bother trying to prove your point on this matter.

Well, I know you're having trouble seeing...with your obstructed view so I won't say..."don't look now", but I just posted numerous stories which appeared in the MSM and were total lies...each and every one of those so called news stories were total and utter lies.

Not only that but each of those stories were posted here, talked about here and outed as the lies they were.

I wouldn't be donning the sunglasses just yet my friend.

You still can't and HAVEN'T EVER produced a single article that is untrue on the day it was published. Not once. There is literally loads of MSM news on the internet on any given day, and yet remarkably you can't seem to find a lie daily, weekly, or even monthly. That's a crap record if there ever was one. If that were your job, you'd be fired.

Every one of those articles contained lies on the day they were printed or broadcast.

What's your position acoustic? Do you actually believe a statement can be true on the day it was made/printed and then become a lie later?
