And then....

American ingenuity, engineering know how and sense of humor caught up with the staid German "Beetle"..."Bug" and took a 36 horse power engine to more than 600hp and 1/4 mile drag strip times of 0 to 164mph in about 8.5 seconds.

Volkswagen - Small And Mighty
Eric Calabrese replaced the 36hp, 1,192cc engine of his '57 Bug with a 2,276cc (138ci) VW flat-four developing 620 hp. During a non-PRA championship event in Fontana, California, last March, this Pro Mod animal ran a best of 8.55 at 164 mph.

You think the rumble coming off the headers and the whine of that supercharger might give away the fact this VW van makes fast trips to the market...and back?.

Yeah Happy Dragon, Goodbye to Pontiac I've had 2 GTO's, a '65' and a '67' Ram Air.

This is a picture of one of my daughters when she was about 19 with the '67' Firebird we bought her...when she was 16 and a junior in high school.

She still has the Firebird. I wish I still had those GTO's.
