Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder
But so is truth
For what is truth to me
Will be another's half-truth
And yet another's falacyWhat is done is done
No amount of wishing and hindsight can change that
So why do I sit here
And think "What if?"
Why do I sit here
With a tear in my eye
For something I lost
Without ever having it?
Why have I allowed it to spiral through my mind
Sometimes gnawing
Sometimes gnashing
Until it devoured a piece that was me
And leave a hole that will always be
It may be filled
By something else
But it will never make me who I was Just because my truth
Was another's half-truth
And yet another's falacy
