A thread devoted to Him.

O friend

O friend! hope for Him whilst you live

O friend! hope for Him whilst you live,
know whilst you live, understand whilst you live:
for in life deliverance abides.

If your bonds be not broken whilst living,
what hope of deliverance in death ?

It is but an empty dream, that the soul shall have union with Him
because it has passed from the body:

If He is found now, He is found then,
If not, we do but go to dwell in the City of Death.

If you have union now, you shall have it hereafter.

Bathe in the truth, know the true Guru,
have faith in the true Name!

To be a Slave of Intensity

Friend, hope for the guest while you are alive.
Jump into experience while you are alive!
Think...and think...while you are alive.
What you call 'salvation' belongs to the time before death.

If you don't break your ropes while you're alive,
do you think
ghosts will do it after?

The idea that the soul will join with the ecstatic
Just because the body is rotten -
that is all fantasy.
What is found now is found then.
If you find nothing now,
you will simply end up with an apartment in the City of Death.
If you make love with the divine now, in the next life you will have the face of satisfied desire.

So plunge into the truth, find out who the Teacher is,
Believe in the Great Sound!

Are you looking for me?

Are you looking for me? I am in the next seat.
My shoulder is against yours.
you will not find me in the stupas, not in Indian shrine
rooms, nor in synagogues, nor in cathedrals:
not in masses, nor kirtans, not in legs winding
around your own neck, nor ineating nothing but
vegetables.
When you really look for me, you will see me
instantly --
you will find me in the tiniest house of time.
Kabir says: Student, tell me, what is God?
He is the breath inside the breath.

Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation. Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound.

A love Song:

My Love, my Veil is stained

Made from the elements five
Absorbed in sixteen hundred sensory traps*
The Veil that came from my parental home
Lost its luster in my in-laws house
I wash it over and over, yet the stain goes not
My Love, bring the soap of knowledge
Says Kabir
These stains will eventually leave
When my Love will make me his own.

"Milk for babes,
and meat for strong men."

Now, in my darkest dreams,
give me saints who understand!

Let us have no more of these proud mystics;
these mocking dragons,
breathing fire and truth down my neck!

They are beautiful, I know, I know,
but I havent the stomach for their violent beauty.

Give us the cool carress
that soothes the burning brain.

And do not slap the madman,
as if to wake him rudely -
For it will only make him madder!

"God is all around! God is all around!"

That's fine for you, sir.

"Just open your eyes!"

Tell me how?
I try. Don't I try?
And I see devils.

Shall I call my devils "gods"?
To justify Kabir?
To justify the One who threw me here?

No, no, no.
Give me saints who understand!

Give me Job and Jesus Christ!

Men who suffer and whose hearts are supple;
supple enough to suffer and still beat.

Do not deny the desert,
to make your paradise!

Or shrink the ocean,
to enlarge the drop!

Or give stones to the one who asks for bread,
saying, "here is bread and more!"

To the one who cannot hear with both ears,
it rings hollow in the one,
and hollow out the other.

It will never suffice.

Give me saints who suffer and understand.

These are great, T.

I just had to get that out.

I've been struggling lately,
and hearing a lot of advice.

I dont want advice,
I dont need to be told what's what,
or what to do.

I need a hug, lol. Problem solved.

Feed me, then teach me how to fish.

You know?

I don't know.

People underrate sympathy.

Maybe because they have so little,
they want to undervalue it.

Everybody can give a swift kick in the pants,
and everybody can regurgitate easy answers,
so, everybody tells you those are valuable things.

I've got a head full of advice,
and devils kicking my ass on the daily.

I need hugs and kisses,
soft understanding eyes.

These are rare and valuable medicines.

Make no mistake.

I'm just not feeling Kabir right now.

I'm feeling Rossdale:

"Everything Zen... I don't think so."

If its wrong, I dont want to be right.

I want to be wrong.

I want to be what I am.

No more pretending to understand Kabir.

Not for me.

Not today.

HSC, I'm sorry i posted words that offended or upset you.

I'm not sure what to say because Kabir's words have the opposite effect on me.

To me he is a saint that understands. One does not have to suffer constantly to be a saint, do they?

His brutal Honesty or "violent beauty", as you see it, sets my heart ablaze and quenches this soul's thirst.

Suffering saints dont do that for me.

Again, sorry to have upset you.

Some nice quotes (that hopefully dont upset you more)

But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world. --C.S. Lewis

Must you continue to be your own cross? No matter which way God leads you, you change everything into bitterness by constantly brooding over everything. For the love of God, replace all this self-scrutiny with a pure and simple glance at God's goodness. --Saint Jeanne Chantal

The world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it. --Helen Keller

Deep unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state. -- George Eliot

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was within me an invincible summer.-- Albert Camus

Peace.

You might not think so, but i totally understand. Been there. Some days nothing will bring you out of the depths. Which is okay; needed even.

(warning more Kabir ahead )

WHERE is the night, when the sun is shining? If it is night, then the sun withdraws its light. Where knowledge is, can ignorance endure? If there be ignorance, then knowledge must die.
If there be lust, how can love be there? Where there is love, there is no lust.
Lay hold on your sword, and join in the fight. Fight, O my brother, as long as life lasts.
Strike off your enemy's head, and there make an end of him quickly: then come, and bow your head at your King's Durbar.
He who is brave, never forsakes the battle: he who flies from it is no true fighter.
In the field of this body a great war goes forward, against passion, anger, pride, and greed:
It is in the kingdom of truth, contentment and purity, that this battle is raging; and the sword that rings forth most loudly is the sword of His Name.
Kabîr says: "When a brave knight takes the field, a host of cowards is put to flight.
It is a hard fight and a weary one, this fight of the truth-seeker: for the vow of the truth-seeker is more hard than that of the warrior, or of the widowed wife who would follow her husband.
For the warrior fights for a few hours, and the widow's struggle with death is soon ended:
But the truth-seeker's battle goes on day and night, as long as life lasts it never ceases."

Thank you for understanding.

I really appreciated this last excerpt.

It's more appropriate for me now, I guess.

Yes, I know what he's talking about.

The battle never ends.

I just want it to end.

It's not about giving my power away,
or reclaiming my power constantly.

Some people say that
acknowledging powerlessness is the first and hardest step.

That's when grace enters.

When we stop fighting.

Its scary.

Which is harder:

To take up the sheild one last time,
or to lay it aside?

Oh... -- nevermind.
I'm full of sh--.

We always take the easier way. Always.

Not my will, but Thine.

Believe me,
I love strong words, too,
when I am strong.
But, to love them when one is weak,
that is a rare accomplishment.

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy."
— Martin Luther King Jr.

----------------

A stronger speaker can scarcely be found than Friedrich Nietzsche:

On Reading And Writing

Of all that is written, I love only what a man has written with his blood. Write with blood, and you will find that blood is spirit.

It is no easy task to understand unfamiliar blood; I hate reading idlers.

He who knows the reader, does nothing for the reader. Another century of readers- and spirit itself will stink.

That everyone is allowed to learn to read, ruins in the long run not only writing but also thinking.

Once spirit was God, then it became man, and now it even becomes rabble.

He that writes in blood and aphorisms does not want to be read, but learnt by heart.

In the mountains the shortest way is from peak to peak, but for that route you must have long legs. Aphorisms should be peaks, and those spoken to should be tall and lofty.

The atmosphere rare and pure, danger near and the spirit full of a joyful wickedness: these things go well together.

I want to have goblins about me, for I am courageous. Courage which scares away ghosts, creates goblins for itself- it wants to laugh.

I no longer feel as you do; the very cloud which I see beneath me, the blackness and heaviness at which I laugh- that is your thunder-cloud.

You look aloft when you long for exaltation; and I look downward because I am exalted.

Who among you can at the same time laugh and be exalted?

He who climbs high mountains, laughs at all tragic plays and tragic realities.

Brave, unconcerned, mocking, violent- thus wisdom wants us; wisdom is a woman, and always loves only a warrior.

You tell me, "Life is hard to bear." But why should you have your pride in the morning and your resignation in the evening?

Life is hard to bear: but do not pretend to be so delicate! We are all of us fine sumpter @sses and she-@sses .

What do we have in common with the rose-bud, which trembles because a drop of dew lies on it?

It is true we love life; not because we are wont to live, but because we are wont to love.

There is always some madness in love. But there is always, also, some method in madness.

And to me also, who appreciates life, the butterflies, and soap-bubbles, and whatever is like them, seem to know most about happiness.

To see these light, foolish, pretty, lively little sprites flit about- that moves Zarathustra to tears and songs.

I would only believe in a God who could dance.

And when I saw my devil, I found him serious, thorough, profound, solemn: he was the spirit of gravity- through him all things fall.

Not by wrath, but by laughter, do we kill. Come, let us kill the spirit of gravity!

I learned to walk; since then have I let myself run. I learned to fly; since then I do not need to be pushed to move from a spot.

Now I am light, now I fly, now I see myself beneath myself, now a god dances through me.-

Thus spoke Zarathustra.

Stephen ~

To Live Out What I am

My distress is great and unknown to men.

They are cruel to me, for they wish to dissuade me

From all that the forces of Love urge me to.

They do not understand it, and I cannot explain it to them.

I must then live out what I am;

What love counsels my spirit,

In this is my being: for this reason I will do my best.

Whatever vicissitudes men lead me through for Love’s sake

I wish to stand firm and take no harm from them.

For I understand from the nobility of my soul

That in suffering for sublime Love, I conquer.

I will therefore gladly surrender myself

In pain, in repose, in dying, in living,

For I know the command of lofty fidelity.

I do not complain of suffering for Love:

It becomes me always to submit to her,

Whether she commands in storm or in stillness.

One can know her only in herself.

This is an unconceivable wonder,

Which has thus filled my heart

And makes me stray in a wild desert.

- Hadewijch of Antwerp

Please, somebody, ANYBODY hear me.

In this lifetime i have suffered deeply, like alot of other people have and are. It's not a contest. I've been suicidal more times than should be allowed. And even THAT, is no longer attached to my ego - I see it for what it was. My allowing Darkness to guide me - being in collusion with the cosmic delusion of Satan. Forgetting God. I've been to some very dark depths. A keen observer can clearly see that. This place in my life that i have come to now did not come out of nowhere. This intense love I have for the Creator has not arisen out of having had an easy go of it. This life has been one of extremes and i wouldnt change that for anything. Somewhere "something" was always pushing me along. Giving me the strength to carry on. I'm glad i chose a life i wasnt going to just coast through. One that has pushed me to the very egde of the cliffs and forced me to either jump or fly. These situations have been gifts in disguise. Forced me to be unsatisfied with anything but the Truth.

Dont give me talk about suffering and tell me i should continue to embrace it. I've had enough - i see through it. It's been a tough battle and the battle continues. But at this point i've come to realize a way out without having to kill myself. Please dont speak anymore to me about the benefits of suffering. I dont need it anymore. I've seen the Light and now there's no turning back.

I cant take the blindness of suffering anymore. I choose to see God and God only. Even here now.

People dont realize how attached they are to their suffering.

Dont give me pretty gentle human words. They dont compare.

I live for the Truth in all it's radiant Glory now. It's all i care to Hear.

Your suffering is mine.
And it will bring us to Truth.

I'm a little upset today, but I know who to turn to; what to do about it.

I think i need to go on a walk. I think it might be time for a break from the worldwideweb. I needed to let this out.

Thank you.

message recieved today:

"The mystic does not read human thought, but rather he senses the atmosphere of God. The mystics of every age have seen, sensed and taught THE SAME TRUTH! ... the mystic experiences of the ages have revealed ONE AND THE SAME TRUTH!

&

"The teaching of the mystics has been that there should be a conscious courting of the Divine Presence.

&

Jesus taught a Power transcendent, triumphant, absolute, positive, against which lesser laws meant nothing. By Its very Presence It heals. The mystics did not contend or argue with people. There was nothing to argue about. THEY SAW and KNEW. They are the great revealers to man of the nature of the Universe, and the relationship of man to God."
