Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.

~Paul Boese

What we forgive too freely doesn't stay forgiven.

~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

~Mahatma Gandhi

I've always said that in politics, your enemies can't hurt you, but your friends will kill you.

~Ann Richards

Truth springs from argument amongst friends.

~David Hume

You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.

"If the only prayer you say in your life is "thank you," that would suffice."
~Meister Eckhart

"A single grateful thought toward heaven is the most complete prayer."
~Gotthold Lessing

"(Some people) have a wonderful capacity to appreciate again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder, and even ecstasy."
~A.H. Maslow

"No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here."
~John Greenleaf Whittier

Someone I love sent me a reminder that hangs from the drum-stix vase on my desk in front of me and I read it every day. It says...

the Best is Yet to Come

So even when the energy seems to be against you... you can always Know that things get better and "This too shall pass" and

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

Tomorrow
Tomorrow
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

(That's from the musical "Annie" btw)

I am grateful for my friends, for LindaLand, and deeply grateful for my daughter. I am grateful my brother will be "home" and eating mashed potatoes with me across the table this Thanksgiving and I am grateful my sister will be home for Christmas. I am grateful that my aunt is alive for another holiday season and she gets to spend it with her first grandchild.

I am grateful that you all are here and that you care enough to read whatever I might add here. Thank you for connecting me today.
Love to you and have a deep, meaningful holiday with your family and extended LL family.

I always bring the cranberry sauce... real from the bag of cranberries... because it's easy and only one step up from opening a can of Ocean Spray real cranberry sauce and yanking it out with a butter knife... It's really sweet homemade. So think of me when you grab a scoop. Made with love. :^)

"If the only prayer you ever said was "Thank You", it would be enough"
~ Meister Eckhart

God Bless You!

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

- Robert Browning

What is a friend? I will tell you. It is a person with whom you dare to be yourself.
- Frank Crane

Two may talk together under the same roof for many years, yet never really meet: and two others at first speech are old friends.
