For ideas and inspiration.

I'm going to get working on a couch I started months ago, but sort of got stuck with. It's gone from a light green to purple with the help of some fabric paint. Yesterday I found the most gorgeous wingback chair at a secondhand store, DIRT CHEAP and it's in practically mint condition & very clean (i will steam clean it anyway though). Right after I spoke to an employee saying I wanted it, a lady sat in and and wanted to buy it too. I got there in the nick of time! There are a few other things I bought for a few dollars each that I want to transform as well.

Please share anything you have done or find inspirational. These can be fun weekend projects that are relatively inexpensive to do. Hope others join in.

Look at that baby, sitting there looking all chic! Adorable.

I actually like the green, but I can see that it needs patching up.

Thanks!

Yeah, the front of the cushion seems to have a bit of moisture damage, but the rest is in pretty good condition. I love the lime green too!

Been outside priming everything. It's actually not too humid so things are drying and moving along quickly.

I've been working on that little shelf you saw in the background, which I think would look cute in a kids room. About halfway done I think now. Going to "patchwork" the inside sides as well. Thinking about taking some paint to the egdes of some of where the squares connect, but I'm not sure yet. Going to need to get some more Modge Podge as I'm almost out.

Off to the store now for some water. It's hot under that sun!!! I only have shade out there in the morning/early afternoon. And the big umbrella I had blew away and snapped in a bunch of places so I don't have that for shade anymore. poop.

That blue chair & foot stool are so aquarius

I`ll take the fur ball on the lovely green chair. Ditto what yin said

Yeah, i love that blue chair and little library.

Pup really seems to like the green throne She keeps putting her paws up and looks at me like "Mummy pick me up and put me on this thing."

I opened up the cushion and saw where the yellowing was coming from. The chair is ancient and so is the cushion, so it's disintegrating. It's crumbling up into a gritty powder. Luckily I already have plenty of new cushion material for a bed I was going to try to make for my dog. I'll use it for a new cushion.

Figuring out just how I'm going to go about this... Knowing next to nothing about reupholstering furniture and not having reupholstery tools, I won't be going full out reupholster, but only doing parts of it. And it will be far from a professional job, but I will try to make it look as good as possible.

I'm not even going to mess with the back of it, which I really like anyway. I want to keep those lines and the fabric on it.

A friend said it resembles a plant! It does. I actually thought about making it look like a Venus flytrap, but don't think I will.

For those with kids or grandkids, or for kids at heart

I did these with a boy I knew many years ago.

Fun and easy. A few of them clustered on a little shelf would even look great in a big kid's bathroom

Make different heights by cutting paper towel rolls at different lengths.

Toilet paper roll owls:

even if you only have a marker, you can still make one.

or get really crafty with some paper (wrapping paper would even work)

how cute would it be to make an owl representing each family member and bunching them all together on a shelf?

I think a kid would especially love to do that.

or a fun gift for sisters - one for each sis.

Wow, how cute. I don`t have the imagination forget talent to attempt one. LOL

again I am loving the various tub ideas.

I have, many times, used tp rolls for seed starters

Unholstering is a tedious task and one I don`t relish. For me, too many intricate stitchs with odd needles.Have fun doing it and show us the results!!

This thread is awesome.

I have a project I picked up some pieces for over the weekend. I will take pics and upload later. I am going to be making a wall hanging to hold my insane amount of jewlery. It is very simple an idea, take a picture frame, replace the glass with screen mesh to hold earrings, and add knobs to the frame to hold necklaces. I have all the parts, just need to sand and refinish the frame I bought, and then add the mesh and knobs/hooks I got. I'm really excited to do it and get my jewlery off my dresser! (also, it will almost be like wall art, it's so big and I have SO MUCH colorful jewlery).

I'll put pics up when I'm at home.

How nice to see some of my favorite LL ladies keepin' the thread alive!

Ghani, I can't wait to see it!!! How's it coming along?

Juni, I knew you'd love the bathtub couch. LOL The tp roll seed starters are a great idea!

Yin, yeah, i especially love the gift box ones.

Been really busy with different things over here. I'll take pics and post em here eventually.

Juni, yeah keep your fingers crossed for the "reuphostery" projects. No, not easy to do. They are coming along, but will the final result look alright? We shall see.

u gals.

I have my materials, but I was hit with bronchitis after suffering with various colds for the past few months. Thankfully, after a chest X-ray, it's not pneumonia.

I have it in my mind to get to it this weekend along with some heavy spring cleaning. I can't wait as I ended up stopping on my way to pick up an RX at a major beads/pendants/tools sale and acquired a bunch of new items for the "industrial" pieces I am working on.

I think sometimes I have more ideas and materials then time though LOL. My old man refinishes furniture, so we have a laundering list of projects we will be busting out over the spring.

I had seen a cute jewelry holder/organizer like the one you are making at an arts and crafts show, but it was backed with fabric. I got some chicken wire to make my own after seeing one online in a similar fashion, but never got around to it. I wanted to make some for my shop, but then found a bunch of cute jewelry stands at Marshalls that fit better with my place and the jewelry I've made so far. I'm am going to need all the wall space I can get, so the jewelry for now, hangs on those on some bookcases. I might make a small one for fun.

somthing like this:

This is cute too:

Can't wait to see how yours turn out!!!

Too many ideas, too little time. The life of the artist/crafter. LOL

I'm already back to painting. Now large scale acrylics that I started a few months ago and have put the furniture on hold for now.

It's nice to have a bunch of different things going on for when you need a break from one medium and feel like you need to do something completely different.

Yes that's similar to what I am hoping to create. And yes having several projects going at once is kinda how I have to operate. I have WAY too much of an ADD personality to stick to one thing for too long. Hence my jewlery holder, dresser, jewlery pieces AND bathroom remodel that I have going now. LOL.
