Aw, I like that thought, T, the first of many books... I will keep that in mind as the manuscript grows, cause I will have to cut it off at some point, 287 pages so far. I can save some of the newer material for the next book!

I'm scared as heck, mainly cause I just invited EVERY one of my FB friends to "like" my poetry page....all **184 of them**!You guys realize I've written about a few of them, right? They are immortalized in my writing, whether they ever know it or not... I've gotta put it out there thought, or I'll never reach the one person or persons who might have been meant to read a poem...My husband is so supportive and encouraging, just gotta find the courage to be OK with baring my soul... OK, found a few old poems from 9th grade to add to the mix, and I've been on a prolific streak these past few days...Now, the focus just comes with promoting and letting people know the writing is out there. FB fan page has 22 likes so far, and for now it's my only source of sharing. I've had so little real-world, OK, in-person, experience with sharing my words, I don't even know what kind of audience they will have, nor at this point, what will come from the ripples of publishing this. I did decide yesterday that I will name names in thanking those that inspired me, for their contribution to my poetic experience, as that is my gift to them, to be taken as it will. Ok, well somehow it's getting closer to 400 pages.I'm thinking I need to nail the title down soon, then work on creating an image for the cover, perhaps in watercolors... ------------------

OK, still pretty close to 400, but I may break it down into 2-3 smaller "volumes"...what do you think?I am having a professional proofreader go over it, both for flow and grammar, though I'm certainly a stickler for spelling most days ------------------

Hi, VAA, it's great to hear everything is going to plan with your poetry publication amibition. Congrats. You mentioned in one of your previous posts about "getting the poetry out there to the targeted audience " . Well, there's a site called Poemhunters.com which has thousands of members, many of whom are poets(some published others not). If you open an account you can posit all your poems for member/public perusal and gauge their popularity and ratings. Members can also leave comments about the poems. It's a great way of ascertaining public reaction and finding a target audience. Members can also create Ebooks for free and download members' Ebooks  This is just a suggestion and you may not wish to go down this avenue, but I thought I would let you know about the site if you haven't heard of it already.
