You are absolutely welcome Aqua!!!

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~++~+

Next homework assignment:

THREE INITIALS PLUS THE NINE CARD:

Shuffle the cards and cut them.
Do this exercise for 7 days.Document your findings in your notebook.
Count out your initials...for example, if your initials are ABC, you would turn over the first card of the pile, counting it as A then the second inital would be counted as A,B, with the second card turned over and the same for the third letter. Then count out 9 cards and turn over the 9th card.
Lay them out as such:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~9 card~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1st ini.~~~~~2nd ini.~~~~~3rd ini.
The first inital represents the past or what is leaving. The second inital represents the present situation and the 3rd is the future, with the 9 card crowning you (or representing the overall outcome).
Let me know what you find at the end of the 7 days.
P.S. If you don't have a middle inital, count out a 9 card for the middle one (this would be a second 9 card)
Hi La-Tee-Da!
I don't know why I haven't read this before. I've had my deck for about 4 years but I struggle to remember the meanings of the cards. I am using the Crowley/Thoth deck. I do a reading for myself now and again but maybe it has to do with connecting with the guides? Is it possible to get a specific date or time period(weeks/months) from the cards?
Anyway, I am going to start your excercise tonight.
Thanks very much!
Hi Moonshadow (that reminds of a Cat Stevens song)!!
In the beginning of Tarot 101 post, I tell how you can kinda determine the time frames. Specific dates a kinda hard to nail down, but you can get close.
Glad you joined us!!!
Hi La-Tee-Da
That's so cool that you saw that! That is where I got the name as well as Mike Oldfield's Moonligh Shadow. I drew my first card but I'll wait till I have seven to post it.
Thanks
I am in the southern hemisphere so the 21st
of March is fall not spring. Would the cards still have the same meanings?
The cards would still mean the same, date wise that is....not necessarily the same season.
I saw Cat Stevens back in the early early 70's in a teeny auditorium in Austin Texas. He was all alone on stage....no back up, only he and his guitar!! What a phenomenal performer!!!
Hey everyone!
Day 1:
3 0f Cups
The Emperor
7 of Swords
9th card - Ace of Cups
Day 2:
King of Pentacles
4 of Pentacles
The Star
9th card - 6 of Cups
Day 3:
3 of Wands
Judgement
2 of Cups
9th Card - Ace of Pentacles
Day 4:
Queen of Wands
The Chariot
3 of Swords Yikes!
9th Card - 6 of Wands
Didn't feel right so I redid it, and drew:
6 of Wands
The Chariot
The Hierophant
9th Card - 2 of Cups
Hmm...
4th Day:
Ace of Pentacles
5 of Swords
The Chariot why why WHY?!!
9th Card - The High Priestess
(The Ace of Cups jumped out at me twice at different times during shuffling - thought it was worth a mention since I drew it earlier)
6th Day:
9 of Pentacles
3 of Wands
6 of Wands
9th card - 9 of Cups
7th day:
The Empress
10 of Cups Oh YEAH!!
Justice
9th Card - Ace of Cups
So overall:
Can't make head nor tail of the past card.
The present card looks like there might be some tension that needs me to find a middle path between head and heart, let go of things I hold dear (4 of Pentacles) and if I do then things should be just peachy.
The future card looks like, well, a normal future card would look like ... work to be done, the need to be rational (hierophant), the need to be optimistic and enthusiastic in meeting my challenges (the star), perhaps the need to be circumspect and keep things under wraps for a while (7 of Swords), and expect results proportionate to the effort (judgement)
The 9th card - Lots of Cups. Lots of love?
Also, a new energy work-wise (Ace of P), which is quite true, lots of new responsibilites at work.
Getting in touch with myself, self-awareness (High Priestess), also true.
The 3 of Swords just didn't feel right ... more like a past card than a present or a future. So I drew again. Then a thought occurred to me, maybe the Tarot was demonstrating the concept of the Eternal Now. Maybe it was saying, what's the past but the future??
Or then again, maybe it was just a draw when I wasn't at my most intuitive.
Ok, prof, I'm all ears.
By the way, I was wondering what the 101 in the name of this string stands for.
Hi La-Tee-Da
This is my 9th card excercise. My question was: How do I proceed from here to buid the future I want/ follow my soul path?
11 Oct
6 of swords : Science
12 Oct
Prince of swords
13Oct
8 of swords : Interference
14 Oct
8 of trumps : Adjustment
15 Oct
10 of disks : Wealth
16 Oct
Ace of wands
17 Oct
14 of Trumps : Art
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
I figure that Trumps corresponds to cups? And 14 of Trumps?? King of Cups?
I ask because 8 of Trumps - Adjustment, sounds a little different from 8 of cups - letting go/the need to start over.
Hi Aquamoon.
I am using the Thoth deck. The trump cards are the major arcana,I think? I must admit I am not experienced in Tarot at all. I know this deck has different names for the cards though.
Hi Gang!!! Just got home from work. Going to bed, but when I wake up, I will work on your homework.
I will have to look up the Thoth deck to see what the cards correspond to in the Rider Waite deck......a research project!!
Goodnight...er, morning....or whatever it is for normal people!!!
Hi La Tee Da,
I was wondering, do you know any Past Life spreads? I know the Tarot can be a great tool for the Past and I would really love to know any of the spreads.
StarLover....I don't know of past life spreads, but I do know of a spread that can communicate with a loved one in the other realm!!!
I will try to research the past life spread aspect and see what I find.
Moonshadow.....I have taken a small leave to re-group spiritually and physically, but I have not forgotten your Thoth deck. I have just not been able to concentrate much the last few days....too exhausted and drained, but much better. Hope to get back in a few days.
