Greetings...If anyone is interested in a Tarot Symposium online, let me know. I believe that there are enough people out there that read the cards to be of help to those new to the art. I will be happy to contribute my interpretations of the Higher and Lower Arcana both spiritual and mundane in a general way. And I will be happy to chime in if you decide that you would like a place to practice on each other, however, I will not do individual readings in this manner as my work and study commitments do not allow the time nor energy for such an endeavor. What do you all think? In the Light... Hello there...Well, this is cool. I'll be teaching from the Morgan-Greer deck... but this is very similar to the Rider Waite. Similar decks are Universal Waite, Hanson Roberts and Robin Wood... tho some of her symbolism is a wee bit more wicca than traditional, but it should translate. Pick the deck that resonates best with you, and we can address any differences in symbolism as they arise. I just happen to like the rich warm tones of the Morgan-Greer deck and the more Renaissance flavor of the drawings. This should be fun... In the Light... Are you going to do a separate string for each card? Just curious. That way others can add to your interpretations. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hello Randall...I hadn't actually thought about it, but that sounds like a plan. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to talk about each series of cards in a string, such as all the ONE's including the Magician, etc. But I can format it anyway that will work best. Any other thoughts? Pax et Bonum... That's pretty wise! For instance all two's going in their own string. IP: Logged |

That sounds great, Aselzion, since numerology goes hand-in-hand with Tarot. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

We should get started on July 27, becuase that's the most fortunate numerological date. I also think Linda would've like that number to.-StarLover IP: Logged |

Hello Aselzion,Can I participate even though I use the Crowley deck? I know you don't care for him much. Will that be held against me? Heidi IP: Logged |

Hi all, so far, it appears, everyone has a working knowledge of the Tarot . As I have not even the basics, perhaps I should sit this study out. Instead, I will study the booklet that came included in the deck and wait. I also purchased The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, by Arthur Edward Waite to aid me. Guess I`d better get cracking them . juniperb IP: Logged |

This sounds great and somewhere I may actually be able to share, as I've been doing Tarot for about 13years now... I have Rider-Waite & Alchemical, but most often use Shakespearian deck, being a bit of a thespian I love the imagery used in it When do we start? I'm fidgety with eagerness! IP: Logged |

Hi Juni Don't sit anything out, you'll pick up as we go along and if you have a problem, just holler - lots of people to help you along. In the meantime, study the cards, get a feel of them, lay them out and listen to what they say to you, check with the guide to see how far off the mark you are and practise some readings. You'll get better with every reading you do, and you're so darned intuitive, you'll not only catch up before you know it, you'll be a Tarot Goddess soon. Yay! When are we starting??? SunShyne

Hello all...I'm thrilled to see the enthusiasm! Juniper... No way. This will start at the beginning and move along from the foundations. You are most certainly welcomed and encouraged to join us. You may see something as a novice that I have missed or lost in my years of study! Heidi... No, of course I won't hold your respect for Crowley against you! We all have a right to our various thoughts and opinions. As I said to everyone, I use the Morgan Greer Deck because that's what I'm comfortable with, and it talks to me, as does the Hanson Roberts deck... both of which are based on the Rider-Waite deck. I don't think it will matter what deck you choose to use, but I hope that the method I use to derive the meanings from certain cards will be useful to you, no matter what deck you choose. The first thing I can say is LOOK at the card. What clues does it hold for you. I may mention some symbolism secific to my deck that helps me to gain a certain piece of information; my suggestion to you will be to look at your card and see, or even HEAR, what it has to say to you. I will also mention the astrological and Qabalistic associations with the cards as we proceed. Again, this is merely a reflection of my own studies and practice and is not meant to be taken as "gospel". As with everything, my approach is to take what works for me and leave what doesn't behind, and that will be my approach in this Tarot discussion. I hope this helps a bit.... Blessings...
