I think that some folks - neurotic, sexually repressed sorts - practice this lovely art form in an unconcious, involuntary kind of way. Unfortunatly, certain Black Lodges use it as a rule. Using the energy for both their incarnated members and their earth-bound souls. Elementals too. Nasty stuff.

I found Dion Fortune's "Pyschic Self-Defense" extremely helpful. Also, Rudolph Steiner made a few comments that might be worth hunting down. I think anything Mr. Steiner had to say is worth a look.

On the bright side - I've personally discovered that once you've fended off a pyschic vampire most everthing else looks easy!

At the end of the day - What's more powerful than Good Thoughts and pixie dust!

I have read some of the replies that have been made to your question and am in agreement with much of what has been said. I would add only the following thoughts...

1) In terms of using White Light... This is a tried and true method of psychic self defense, but I find that "White Light" is hard to maintain and needs frequent reinforcement. Depending upon your ability to visualize, or to simply "know" that the light is there, you may choose any color that you prefer or feel most comfortable with. A teacher of mine has suggested using an orange wall between you and the person that you feel is a psychic vampire. Orange is the color of the Solar Plexus chakra, and represents your feelings of personal power.

2) You may try something as simple as a physical symbol of your faith, be it a crucifix, pentacle, Star of David, triquetra, rose and cross, or what have you. Something that represents and evokes for you a feeling of protection. It matters little what the symbol is as much as the FAITH you have in it. As Chris Sarandon said to Roddy McDowall in Fright Night, "you have to have FAITH for that to work on me, Mr. Vincent."

3) Depending on your relationship with the person that you feel is draining your energy, you may need to de-cord from that person. When we are close to someone such as family, friends and particularly loved ones and sex partners, it is common for us to form auric/etheric "attachments" or cords with that person. When we feel "safe" these cords can be a source of telepathic communication and flow of energy between 2 souls; but if the attachment is negative, the one individual or another may use the cords to siphon strength from the other party. If you remove the cord... you remove that connection. In that case, you might envision the cord connecting you to that person, and simply pull it, like a weed from your chakras/aura. If you can see this cord with your minds eye, I would place it in a ball of golden light, and imagine it floating away from you... when it gets out of your auric field, you then visualize the ball of golden light as exploding... this will scatter the energetic remains into the ethers and transmute the energy into something "higher". This will not harm the other person in any way, simply help to dissolve that cord, and remove the "energy draining aspect" of that relationship. You may have to repeat this exercise several times, depending upon your bond with the person.. the closer the bond, the more likely it is that you will "re-cord" into that person, or rather that they will "re-cord" into you.

In any event, if you DO make a visualization, remember to surround yourself in all directions with the "light". It is best visualized as an egg or sphere that extends away from your body at least 3 feet in all directions, including above your head and below your feet.

These are some methods, more exist to be sure. Depending upon your belief system, you might as simply ask your concept of God/dess to send the Archangel Michael to watch over you and protect you. Doreen Virtue has called Michael the "heavenly bouncer", who can take away negativity and protect you from all manner of harm.

These suggestions are simply what I have been taught over the years, and are of necessity brief and probably a wee bit oversimplified. They will work however, depending upon your willingness to embrace them and give power to them.

Please feel free to ask any questions, and I will do the best to clarify anything that may seem abstruse.

The thing is,is that the people that this is coming from(I haven't seen in years and lives miles away),but I think it's them because I imagin things that only they would know. This whole thing has something to do with an EX-girlfriend of mine that has burned them too,but for some reason,they're blamming me for it and I want it to stop!(They're the type of people that refuse to grow up) They try to find ways to hurt me in some way and this is one of them. If their was only a way to fight back at them with the same measure that they're using,then maybe they can stop and I don't feel so drained and crappy anymore!

In some of my earlier posts,I've mentioned that I fell in with a bad crowd and on the wrong side of the tracks years ago. These people used to be my friends a long time ago,but because some people got in the way(mostly from envy),I fell from their grace!

Even though most people know about the rules of magick,I was exceptionly good at it(for I was really born into it),but in the most darker,more sinister way,at least that it was easier to be that way(I was born with Celtic blood,of the Pict tribe),I won't get into my strengths nor weaknesses,lets put it this way,The Natural Order of Things need not to pertain to me!

For the little knowledge they had with The Craft,I introduced them into a power that I cast them into a world that seemed brand new to them only to lust for it! Which indeed it was my mistake,for my late Father covered the rest of the detail and tought them how to harvest this power from me. This power comes from my Mother's side(little did I know,that my Father's side happen to be the Vampires that go around creating all like me they're demise,by stealing other's power)and thus they too have become "life suckers"! The real problem comes into the effect that I went too far into it and in turn,starting clearing into realms that overwhelmed me(I became too strong without being prepared)and was having a harder and harder time to containing it(it was way out of control),I became afraid of it!But it is still in me and they've been (still to this day) tapping into it! I got to stop them or they will kill me if it continues.I'm afraid to practice,but I know that I have to or I will never beat them at the punch to my soul!

I want to go back in,but the right way this time!

I got as far as to a Shaman stages of my Magick,that would reach a person to an altered state that's way beyond they're compassity and anybody that is in that realm of existance will know that.

True to the fact that one experiences a super strenth of the mind that exceeds the bounds of reality to the point of almost no return,to the point of being "Godlike"! Some expel reality all together(believing that the world holds no use for them)and in turn the world expels them as well! Jim Morison has reached to such plains of existance and mentions it completely in his music(so does Ozzy Osbourne)!

Along with strenths,comes weaknesses to The Craft,these are the natural order that works(also in turn) as a sacrifice towards ones learning,for example:a clairvoyant will have the power to see,but no power to control the events of what he or she sees,a suggester can control events,but no power to see them coming to existance nor be clairvoyant,a shape shifter can tranform into anything(even invisibility),but cannot make contact to certain elements(wood,metal,etc)without wearing gloves or such. The list goes on,but along with great streaths,comes great weaknesses!

But this is within the accordence of the one that practices,but to the ones that are born into it,this is really hard(for this is passed down threw the bloodlines of ones ancestors)and the weakness doesn't occure,but the strenths are so overwealming, that it's almost impossible to endure and it NEVER leaves them,no matter how long or much they stopped practicing and it only takes very little practice for them to start it all up(to reach a Shaman stage)!

This is the part that Christains DON'T understand,I'm not invoking anything,I'm not practicing or anything and yet a person that has practiced The Craft for 20 years can start sh*t with me and I can still knock him/her on his/her a$$! I've rebuked The Devil many times over,but doesn't stop me from thinking a thought in my head(a stupid little thought)and it still comes true for me!

But I will use my Tarot, so let's see, the card I recieved was, "The Chariot." Interestingly enough, this card is also the seventh in the deck. So atleast I know you're are not lying. Indeed this group is very arrogant and confident in their pursuits for power in The Craft. They really think they're indestructible and feel they can control whatever they want. Cancer rules this card which is also governed by the Moon so I can see that they're an introverted group. Very secretive and usually perform their rituals at night during the Full or New Moon. I can see that they have enough power to hurt you, but some are imbalanced with the desire to suck up any more of your powers. This group is neither bad nor good I think they're group of friends who are extremely loyal to each other. You did give them a reason not to like you, and I'm sure you know what it was. Their desire is to be the most powerful coven in the town or city that you live in. The card was also reversed so I believe that there pursuits in hurting you will fail. But becareful.

I asked the cards if they were really hurting you, and I recieved The 10 of Swords, reversed. My interpretation is that they are hurting you, but for the most part you're over exagerating, and what you must do is break the "psychic cord" that you're attached to. You need to let go of all the personal bonds you formed. The person that is hurting you is a woman who is using magick in it's most darkest forms. I recieved The Queen of Swords and The Devil reversed. You need to break the cord. I feel that you are in a very tough position but will make it through very strong in the end. You will have lots of bruises but be vigilant and forthright. The most positive card that came for you was The Nine of Pentacles, this card shows that you are very well grounded, you will recieve a lot of lessons from this experience. You're very strong.

Also, this woman is extremely intelligent.

As for the man, I can see that he is very psychic and has extremely deep emotions. He is very powerful and indeed worthy of holding a leadership position. He is not a threat to you but you know not to step on his toes. Other then that, he is not the source of your pain. I really believe that you need to worry about The Seven.

As for what you need to do, your power is evenly matched with theirs. It is and it always has been, you know that. You can and you will stop them, and you already know that. Trust me, the last card was The Sun. There is a tremendous light at the end of the tunnel, you are extremely powerful, but this time you need to use your powers for the good. You are destined to defeat their negativity with all your might. In the end your powers will remain, and the family and love that you desire will come to you. You will defeat their force over you, and come out a stronger and better person. That is what The Sun card promises.

Randall, are you out there? In one of Randall's strings he mentioned that he once knew a woman that studied black magick. The kind of magick that used animal sacrifices. She thought she was untouchable as Randall said. For some reason she hated him and wanted to destroy him. But all Randall did was smile and send her white light. Do you know what happened to the woman? She ended up breaking her back. All of her negative energy bounced back threefold. Randall continued to thrive and the funny part was she thought Randall was a sorcerer. Sorry Randall for using you as an example but it needed to be mentioned.
