Okay, my wife has her heart set on a name for our unborn son. I was not crazy about it at first, but the more it is used, the more I am becoming accustomed to it - besides, I have no other name to offer.

So, I did the numbers ... 18. 18!

Linda says - change the spelling. What if we do not want to?

Does anyone have any insight into this number, other than what Linda offered? Any suggestions? Any ideas?

Ra...

Several alternatives:

1) leave the name alone, Jesus Christ was an 18 all the way around and look at what He accomplished. True He had to walk thru the poop, but we all have our cross to bear.. and I believe that we chose it before we even arrived on the planet.

2) Change the spelling in such a way that it changes the vibration.

3) Keep the naming option open until you talk to the baby's spirit and see if it LIKES that name.

Remember, numerology is only ONE among many influences that affect our lives. FREE WILL CHOICE, and as I say I believe that incarnating at this time and to one's particular set of parents is such a choice, will always outweigh the numerology. So, if you love the name, keep it, the baby already knows what it's getting.

Astrology, numerology and such are all like a cosmic/Karmic PLAYPEN. When we evolve to a certain point, we can actually hop over the side and make our own way, free of such influences. (Linda shared this opinion.. we used to love having this particular discussion.)

We are all, as Jewel so aptly says, Reflections of God, and as such, create our realities. So fear not, the baby's life will be as it will be, whether he is called Adam, Ezekial or Joshua... by his WILL and CHOICE. Wisdom and love can overcome all obstacles if one walks the straight and narrow path.. and I believe that is the real lesson of the 18 vibration.

Trust your Higher Self to know the right thing to do. I don't know you other than by your posts, and I already do.

Blessings and congratulations...

Aselzion

ra,

it is said that the Higher Selves of parents know what name to give their child.

i know that the name chosen by my mother (who doesn't know anything about numerology/astrology) for me was exactly what i was destined to have. i don't mean in a 'fated' kind of way but that the vibrations surrounding the name are ones i respond to. in the course of time and research, i discovered that it is a word associated with both my western and chinese zodiac signs. and i find that i embody its meaning.

aselzion,

thanks for the enlightening info.

what aselzion said

my grandma wanted to give me this name that when spoken in english sounds very icky

but my mum intervened and the name she gave me had a more pleasant sound and vibration

my name (mum's decision) actually reinforces and supports all other aspects

for instance...the name, initials, birth date, ID no., house no., trivial things like seat no. etc. all reduce to the same value...things i have no control over

now this number is considered by many to be extremely fortunate...because of this they may be some people who think that things come easily for this person and they do not have to work as hard

actually when you look closer at this "fortunate" person, this seeming "advantage" is often a counter - balance to the testings and obstacles the person face which usually are not apparent to outsiders

inwardly, this person may have more difficulties to overcome and accordingly the Higher-Self chooses a softening influence to assist the soul in a more smoother journey

on the other hand of the spectrum, there are some who have "difficult" influences and yet they do not seem to have any major problems at all

i look at it as a kind of compensation

the first person has obvious advantages, but they are there to support him in times of difficulties

the second person appears to be less fortunate, but finds his life a joy...the less fortunate influences are there so he won't become lazy when things are going well

these are just two extremes that i can think of

you shouldn't worry too much, i used to know a girl with a 13 birth date and she's one of the happiest carefree people...not to mention lucky...personality has a lot to do with it...then again she's a typical gemini..not easily put down

hey taj

interesting, what's your chinese sign? let me guess....a tiger?...oh wait...your birth date is 23...and the interpretation goes

"it guarantees help from superiors and protection from those in high places...greatly blesses with abundant grace the person or entity represented by it. No number can challenge the Lion's strength and win."

a dragon maybe?

icemists,

just how far can the famed 'mum-ness' of a merc in scorpio go when your 'blowing wind' (air) is always there to unflap it?

"a steed in the west, a steed in the east.
of unfettered, untamed, unswerving spirit
the Buddha's horse, Jove's half-man half-beast
whoever said the twain shan't meet?"

wow! i managed to make a verse out of it!

so, play fair, missy. do tell when your birthday is and what your chinese sign is.

i almost didn't end up with my name, too, because my mom and her sister were both due to give birth in november. and both liked the name 'laarni' for a baby girl. so both agreed that whoever would be born first, would get that name. i think i intentionally stalled my coming out.

Ra

I have two friends that the names have the vibration 5.
One of them doesn't have money nor to buy food and the other sold a company that he invested U$ 30.000,00 to open for U$ 200.000.000,00, yes, two hundred million dollars.
Both have the same vibration of names and date of birth... but there are many differences between them...

In spite of that, today, knowing what I know about numerology, I would choose a name with a fortunate number for my son.
Since I cannot lessen my children's karma, at least I would try to give them a little help...

Numerology is a tool, we can use or not !

Thank you so much everyone!

This is helping much. Mostly this is for the benefit of my wife - I say just go with the number if that is what she feels is the right name.

Thanks!!

Ra,
Maybe you guys have already done this...not sure but why don't you ask baby before going to sleep each night. You and your wife talk to baby as you go sleep and I'm sure you will receive an answer. You are amazing with the astral realm and you guys can share your dreams!

God's richest blessings for you and baby!

I think Mystique's suggestion is great! When my brothers' wife was pregnant my brother had a dream that they would have a daughter and that they should call her Ella. And that name seems perfect for this little girl.

great poem!

quote:

"so, play fair, missy. do tell when your birthday is and what your chinese sign is."

*attempts to sneak away from the computer screen*

i'm a 15 birth day

most people would say about themselves "i am a chicken or a rooster" (say that in Cantonese, it means you are claiming yourself to be a prostitute)

so i prefer born in phoenix year....more dignified

how long have you been learning mandarin?

i'm ashamed to admit that i'm a chinese who doesn't know its own language

if i watch a movie, i'll understand more if i just look at their gestures and facial expressions....the talking confuses me and sometimes the sounds are just too shrill for my sensitive ears

Ra - perhaps you should have a lexi of the name? It may provide some balance to the number.

Icemists-
I learned mandarin while living in Los Angeles because most of the students at my school were Chinese. I remember growing up and all I wanted was to be Chinese too. Well I have grown out of that but now i just wish I knew how to make dim sum, do you know what that is?

Oooh- could you look through the recipe book:
I would love to make a Malaysian dessert or dinner or something. THANKS A MILLION!
Do you celebrate Christmas over there?

Hi Ra - I added the special name to my list. I think posting it in the lexi forum is a wonderful idea since there are some talented druids there.

Okay, just posted a Lexi request for him in the Lexi forum.

It was my 1269th post, which of course equals 18!

I am thinking there is no way around this number! It is just as well, because we are not changing it anyway.
