Hi everyone, Im a bit confused I have been interested in astrology for a while but have just recently had my chart done so I am now fasinated by it all, Im currently reading the star signs book by linda goodman, Im a bit puzzled by the 4 and 8 rule I know a couple one was and 8 the other4 and its tragic there relationship sadly one of them died, anyway...i was born the 29th so I am a 2 person but alot of my closest riends are born on the 24 or 15 or 6 they all make 6 and i make 2 = 8 so dose the 4 and 8 rule apply to my relationships with those friends?

NO! The 4 and 8 only seem fated when combined in an individual.

For example if one was BORN on the 8th and had a NAME that also equalled 4 or 8, or if that person lived in a HOUSE numbered 4 or 8.

I have not seen that fated nature occur by adding numbers from 2 different people... but that is only my experience.

The 4 and 8 relationship does not always end up with death or seperation, but usually they do have to work a little harder to get along.

Funny - that you write that you have a lot of 6 friends. In my experience 2 people often have 6 people in their life. They must like the Venus energy I guess.

I mys-elf am a "4 person" by birth. I seem to draw others to me who are 4 and 8 as well... I have found too that good fortune comes my way with 4s & 8s...

Hello all! I just finished this chapter in Star Signs and it has me more than a lil freaked out after dicovering that I have a 4/8 and/or 13/17 birth/name combo. I'm seriously considering changing my name now. Any thoughts?

I can also confirm every word Linda wrote about "8". I was born on the 8th November, my name vibrates to 8, the address did (I'm happy to say!) and so did my phone numbers.

One of my closest friends is born on the 17th of November.

I'm a 4 (born on the 13th) person and I had a very interesting high school life...

Even before knowing numerology my favorite number is 4. In my 4th year, I happened to get the 4th highest honors in my school (overall 8th when I graduated. coincidence?) that was the time had a crush on a girl whose birthday was july 4th (did not work out, but oh well. ) I was also the 4th highest in the chain-of-command in the CAT organization of the school. I don't remember if there were other '4' connections but I remember these the most.

For some strange reason... it was the best year of my life.

Does the fact that my sun is also in the 4th house count towards the 4 vibration? Also the fact that my two best friends are aquarian (uranus ruler...4's planet)?

hmmmm well i was born on 2/13, making me an aquarius as well (4th house, as u mentioned).... plus my name,address and phone number all add up to 8
i wouldn't say my life was terribly fatalistic though... but then again. i think it's all a matter of perception and consciousness. i can't think of a single thing that's ever gone "wrong" in my life that wasn't a lesson that my soul needed to learn and grow so i'm sticking to keryna

I forgot to mention a couple of other things... this is really weird... regarding my relationships...

1st relationship - broke up after 8 months
2nd relationship - this one's really weird
started - October 31st (unofficial)
started - November 8th (official)

both at scorpio sun time... and she had scorpio rising. And my asc was very close to her 8th house cusp... about 1 degree...

ended after 13 months... (well actually 14th month was when we officially broke up, but we were already having lots of troubles during the 13th. we were just trying to hold on). And then, exactly 48 days later I fell in love with another girl... who is my current gf. ^_^

Freaky...

Anyway, I haven't really encountered any "major mishaps". Either that, or I was too oblivious to notice. I did find out I have to work extra hard adn think twice or thrice about decisions and stuff or else they usually blow up in my face. But, it's no biggie, got merc in Virgo, even if it is retro. (hey, that rhymes!)

I think the pain you've gone through is mostly due to the 29th of your birth. In Star Sign, it's described as "the heavist Karma of all". Prolly you can counter that bad karma stuffs with a positive name. Like Stephanie (37), it's good enough

i would love someone with more knowledge on this 4&8 deal-- i feel like linda's chapter doesn't explain it enough, and i dont so much understand it-- to explain it well... do linda's recommended books on numerology go into greater detail? i've been meaning to pick up somemore titles of her list

i really dont feel like i have a handle on it, especially because i can't explain it to my friends and others when i work out their numerology... can someone give me examples on how it plays into their life? what kind of karmic burden do these numbers carry exactly?

hmmm well i don't know if this will make any sense but here's my take on it. one word that she kept repeating was "fatalistic" which is kinda vauge u know? the first time i read that chapter i was ALL set to change my name cuz i was sure i was doomed. it made all those "life is out to get me" feelings even worse....
but then i started to look at it the other way. there was a part there where she mentioned the ability to turn that fatalistic energy into power.... and what *i* personally feel is that whatever trials i'm meant to experience will be meaningful. beause in my mind the most powerful (or enlightened even) people in the world are the ones who live life reverantly while accepting the meaning behind every event in their life. who can feel pain w/out feeling victimized and w/out enflicting pain unto others.
i feel sumtimes i must have suffered a lot in my past. but then i accept my own personal "big bad wolf" and realize that i musta caused a lot of suffering as well. intentionally or no, does it really make a difference? my goal in this life is to live as karma-free as possible

You know, I have always been somewhat confused by the 4&8 chapter in Star Signs as well. I am a 4 and definitely have karmic entangled relationships with other 4's... no fail. Some good, some difficult, but there is a "4 thing" going on, so I know what Linda says is true, however I wasn't really clear if 4 was generally bad or good... or am I supposed to avoid other 4's and 8's?
