Hello everyone, I've had some interesting encounters with ouija boards in my day, and I'm curious to see what other people think of them. Usually I take anything that comes through them with a grain of salt. The other day quite a few messages were coming through about a person in my life and I'm trying to make sense of them without getting too caught up. I'm hoping people will share good/bad experiences they've had as well as general opinions on their validity. Thanks! IP: Logged |

I could never bring myself to deal with them again after reading "The Exorcist" in the 1970's. Creeped me out.IP: Logged |

Greetings...Well, I was playing with a Ouija board one night many years ago with another psychic friend of mine who really wanted to try the board. We both had our hands on the planchette and our eyes closed. The board spelled out * - * - * - * - * which I won't spell out here, but it was the name of one of my guides... one that my psychic friend did not know. After spelling the name, the planchette basically skittered across the board and onto the floor across the room. When I spoke with another of my psychic friends about the incident, she said that the guide was telling me: this is a low energy toy... stay away! Needless to say, I don't play with them anymore, nor do I recommend them to beginners on the Path of Return. One must be very good at grounding and shielding techniques to use them effectively, and as my guide was telling me, there are better ways to commune with discarnate entities. Hope that helps a bit... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

I've played with one a couple of times, the first time some fo my friends wanted me present as I'm more spiritual than they are. I think they thought I'd be able to protect them ! The second time was boredom. The marker moved the first time and it scared me so much that I vowed never to do it again. The second time I made constant jokes during to ensure we had no responses My advice is to be boring and leave them alone unless you're with someone a lot more experienced with them. I don't think evil can come about but spirits do like to play IP: Logged |

Dangerous. I had a few VERY bad experiences with them. The consequences were real and took me a few years to shake. I'm sure for many people it is relatively harmless fun but not for me. It's russian roulette. Odds are you will get out alive but do you really want to chance it? I think tahariel is right in that many spirits just want to play. But I promise you that real evil is out there and you might just get unlucky too.tink IP: Logged |

I have participated in the use of a ouija board less than a handful of times and I will never, ever use one again. Perhaps I just come into contact with "playful" spirits very easily, but ... somethings that happened were just not right. And they're creepy. I'd rather not rehash the more disturbing personal aspects of what happened those times, but I will relate this story: The last time I used the board was with a group of friends (and acquaintances) at a bonfire out in the woods in an old, rundown deserted military base. I happened to have the thing in the trunk of my car because I was intent on getting rid of it once (well, twice ... but that's a whole other story) and for all. I made the error of telling one of my friends that it was in the car and she insisted we play because she had been with me the last time I used it. She had this idea that the fact that it had worked last time had something to do with my apparantly haunted old house. Anyway, I finally gave in to her pleas and we pulled it out. I was almost sure that nothing would happen since a lot of the guys present kept making jokes and not too many people were taking it seriously. Perhaps it was the setting that made the difference, I don't know. My friend and I (a scorpio, btw) had our hands on the planchette and it began to move around, spelling insults and offensive words ... some of them were even directed at the other people present, and by name, too! I know for a fact that I wasn't moving it and my friend, aside from repeatedly saying that she wasn't moving it, was so frightened at the time that I don't think she could've thought that fast if she had wanted to. Anyhow, everyone was really upset by it, and we just decided to take our hands off of it and burn it in the bonfire. Well, we thought that would be the easy part, lol, were we ever wrong! We took the board, box and all, and began ripping it into pieces. We tossed the pieces (cardboard) into the flames and waited ... and waited ... and waited ... Everyone was getting nervous just staring at the roaring fire, still seeing the board pieces perfectly intact. One of the guys was so disturbed that he grabbed an entire container of gasoline and poured it into the fire! The flames leapt wildly and yet the board's pieces remained intact. Eventually, finally, the pieces began to smoulder and we all just stood there in the silence and watched. You tell me what was going on there, lol. IP: Logged |

I had to burn mine too. It helped somewhat removing the entity, but not entirely. About midway through the burning there was a little explosion, a little fireball. Interesting. I hope these stories have dissuaded you eightdegrees.IP: Logged |

Hmm...I've never had anything of that sort happen. What I was told is that it's very important to ask for guidance and protection from any source you want- I have a few that I use, and I've never had anything negative happen. I do think that obviously one needs to be aware of the potential for deception and lower energies. No one has had a good experience? C'mon! anyone? IP: Logged |

No positive experiences. Creepy experiences, yes, though I wouldn't call my experiences dangerous.... just spooky or not helpful and nonsensical. I had a board I hadn't used in over 10 years as a decoration in my bathroom. I finally got rid of it (buried it) a few months ago.IP: Logged |

Others have had good experiences ! Like I said I don't think evil came come of them, I feel your personality has to play a part. Plus I believe you should abide by certain rules. Jane Roberts used hers to contact her spirit guide, and went on to make them both very famous. If she hadn't done that, no one would know of Seth ! I just think that you should probably do as much research as you can beforehand and protect yourself as best as possible. Good luck IP: Logged |

Oh I didn't mean to imply that it's awful for everyone ... I just didn't like it as much as it seemed to not like me, lol. I don't know of any others who've tried it with any amount of success, but I'm sure there are people out there. I think tahariel has good advice ... if you're gonna' do it then be well informed beforehand, and look into protective influences as well.IP: Logged |

The only thing I know about Ouji boards is that they won't work for or around me . I have lost friends because their bourd would stop working as soon as I stepped on the property. My son also lost some friends because I had a good talk with the enery behind the bourd they were using. I only told him that if he was of the Light, more power to him, but if in anyway he was out to cause harm, that he would have to deal with me. After that the bourd stopped working around my son, also. Somehow he knew it had to do with me, but, he didn't have as many problems with "astral critters" after that either.IP: Logged |

I won't go into all the details, but years ago when I was between my first and second marriages, my Mother and I "played" with the Ouija board on Christmas Day, of all days. It made cryptic predictions that over time did come true to a certain extent, but on THAT day my Mother and I wound up in tears because we were so upset at what the board was telling us. I never touched it again and lived in a superstitious fear regarding one of the predictions for almost 8 years. Since that time I've had other people want to bring theirs over just to "see what happens", and every time I've said NO. I will not have it in my house, ever. This is my experience only. I don't tell others what to do regarding its use; I just won't have anything to do with it myself. My 2 cents. IP: Logged |

Although tempted to try it, I don't bother with the ouija board, reason being is because I was told once that it's a gamble, most of the time it attracts lower level entities such souls stuck in limbo or tricksters who pretend to help and etc. And when dabbling in something such as a ouija board it is like opening a door to the unseen world, some people do not know how to shut the door. The spirit entities can then come and go at will, be they good or dark and influence one's environment seen or unseen for better or worse. I will share a story of an event told to me by some friends: One summer night when it was late 8 people decided to try out the ouija board just for fun, it was something to do considering they were all out in the boonies. They turned down the lights, lit some candles then sat around the table and began to pose questions..sure enough after a time they felt directed to the answers through the numbers and letters. At some point someone heard a light tapping on the window behind him, surprised the owner of the house turned around expecting to see maybe a branch or a bird scratching at the window. He gasped in disbelief at what he saw as did everyone because it just wasn't possible for a man to be standing so high up at the window without some kind of support. Everyone gathered around the window to question and chase away the strange peeping tom dressed all in black clothing but when they looked down...the man was floating in the air. When they looked up at the stranger shocked he smiled a very sinister kind of smile and motioned with his finger for them to come closer. At this point everyone screamed and ran for cover terrified by what they saw.. later the owner of the house sought a spiritual teacher for advice and was told the said mentionted in the first paragraph. As preposterous as that might sound to some I have no doubt they all definitely saw something out there. *With Honour and Intrigue, Sugar** IP: Logged |

Reply to post: "I had to burn mine too. It helped somewhat removing the entity, but not entirely. About midway through the burning there was a little explosion, a little fireball. Interesting. I hope these stories have dissuaded you eightdegrees."--------------------------------------------- Tink the fact that you saw a "fireball" is a sure sign that the spirit energy was indeed of the dark kind. Some cultures such as the native culture believe that a fireball depending on the circumstances involved is representative of a man or a woman, dead or alive who has practiced black witchcraft. And that when a person practices black witchcraft they tend to take on the likeness of a fireball during spirit travel. When such people die they sometimes remain stuck in limbo because of their evil deeds. With Honour and Intrigue, Sugar**

When I've used the ouija board with friends, nothing serious came from it- only spirits always claiming they were young children and young adults who simply wanted to talk. I do have a strange story though, of a harmless spirit that made a "believer" of the board out of everyone. We were in a friend's backyard one night and asked if there was any spirit out there that knew any of us. After a minute, the piece moved to "yes" and then spelled out the name of a friend who was sitting across from me. When we asked who it was, it simply replied "Emily." My friend did not know anyone in the family or relatives named emily, and while we were shaking our heads it proceeded to spell out, "tell Shelby Im sorry." Shelby is my friend's little sister. Of course this caught everyone by suprise and my friend asked why- and it spelled, "for making her cry. Tell her Im sorry." At this my friend started to cry and hyperventilate because she realized who this Emily girl was. Shelby never had a vivid imagination, but when she started talking one day out of the blue of her new imaginary friend, the details were impecible. "Emily was sitting there, you can't sit there. I am going to go play with Emily now. Did you know Emily got a new horse for her carriage?" Random, random details that she couldn't possibly have known to fabricated as a three year old. Then one day Shelby was bawling uncontrollably, and when asked why, she said, "Emily fell off the roof and broke her neck." After that day she never mentioned Emily again- to this day she doesn't even remember having her "imaginary" friend. Anyways, my friend started bawling at the ouija board and Emily just proceeded to apologize and say goodbye. That's the only experience I've really had, and after reading all of these I'm wondering what exactly entails having a good or bad experience with the board- or if a neutral message from an unknown spirit is the best you can get. Any other experiences? IP: Logged |

Good or Bad?Hmmmmm..... I played with one a few times as a teenager just to try it out and see what would happen. The group of girls and I had very little luck with it other than the trickster type spirits having their fun. However, I was in the room of a small farmhouse with a group of people (7 of us) and after they put the thing down they asked me to pick it up to put it back in the box. When I reached for it, it FLEW off the table and hit the wall 6-7 feet away and broke in half. WEIRD!

I had one when I was about 11. It told me I would die at age 28. I spent many years of my twenties worrying I'd die soon. I'm now 40. I'll use Tarot, astrology, but I keep away from Ouija boards. They ARE low energy and it is easy to have a reading reflecting ego motives.IP: Logged |

Ouiji boards are creepy. In my experience, nothing much happpened, however a friend of mine told me of a very scary experience she had. There were a grop of friends one summer playing around with the Ouiji and it started out ok. As the weeks wore on, the messages and events surrounding it got scarier and scarier. They finally decided to throw it away in a dumpster in the apartment complex they lived in. Then they all went swimming for the afternoon. Later that afternoon, the Ouiji was back at my friend's house, propped up against her front door. Creepy. They were somehow able to get rid of it for good after that. IP: Logged |
