Good morning IAT.

I mentioned that phrase not being in the Bible, because it is largely attributed as being found there. This mistaken belief has given it more credence, more weight. The statement "God helps those who help themselves" may be true--and then again, it may not. As I pondered in my original post, it may or may not be true.

quote:
Would you still believe that being alive and cured is more good in the eyes of God? If I was in the womans shoes, I would have chosen to die

Well now, where do I begin? The woman in my story believed it would be 'more good' to be alive and cured and with her family, whether or not on an esoteric or higher level it is 'more good' to be dead/alive on a different plane. So she helped herself. She prayed and worked on manifesting wellness and did all the procedures she possibly could. But despite helping herself, God/dess refused her request.

Now, you may say that God/dess gave her something that is 'more good' than what she wanted.

But...if we are trying to help ourselves manifest what we want and/or need...and we are refused, then God/dess hasn't helped us. Not in the manner in which we believe that helping ourselves will lead us.

There are those who pray to die, for various reasons, not the least of which is debilitating pain. Being dead would be 'more good' for them (and as you implied, death may be 'more good' for everyone)...and yet, God/dess refuses them.

It doesn't matter what I believe might be more or less good in the eyes of God/dess. I wouldn't presume to even know! It may be that all things are equal in the eyes of God/dess...which would make All things One.

Ah...so if all things are One, then God/dess has helped those who help themselves, because despite whatever it is you want/need/desire and help yourself to achieve...All Things Are One...ergo...whatever you receive from helping yourself is what you wanted, whether you knew it or not.

Nope, the Bible is not my book. I'm not a christian, I'm not a fan of dogma or religion at all. What I find is that we like to throw around the word 'enlightened.' Frankly, I'm not sure any such thing exists on this plane. And if it does...well, it doesn't exist in those ...uh oh, must go!
More soon. Maybe.

Good Evening Trill,

Well what do I say. You need to have some dogma to live by. I do not consider myself as a religious person. Nor do I expect others to be. I am what I am.

We are all connected, as one by that last statement (IMO)

I never said, that statement is in the Bible. I don't know its source? It just came to me. I might have heard it long time back.

Regarding denying request of help for the good woman. No one can understand God/dess.
But He/she does know everything.

I am recollecting the story from the Russian author regarding the good woman who died and left survivors. The angel who refuses to take the soul of the mother who just gave birth to baby fells on earth. God sends him to learn 3 lessons.

...I am cutting it short....the baby survives, some relative take hold of her...
he learns first lesson - its people who take care of each other needs...

...its a long story.... and my memory is fading...I do not want to do unjustice to that story

Point, is the woman who died played her part. And her death was necessary for others to play their roles.

Also a correction to my statement...I am not so great that I would walk to the gallows dancing and singing.....But if it is in dignity I would consider it

Good evening IAT...

I don't necessarily disagree with the things you say...I am a born Devil's Advocate. I sometimes argue for the sake of the argument, because I think it's good and healthy to do so. Complacency of the mind is not a good thing.

I have no idea what the answer to the mystery of Life is. I have no idea who or what God/dess Is. I distrust the answers from anyone who claims to know these things.
There are many religions, there are many beliefs, there are many people who believe they have a Knowing. These Knowings are personal, and not necessarily Universal.

I don't care for it when anyone tries to elevate Personal Truth into Universal Truth.

My personal Knowings have changed and evolved over the years, and I expect them to continue to do so.

I don't expect you or anyone to believe my personal truths. And sometimes I just like to stir the pot a bit now and then.

There may be a billion worlds like ours in the ethers. Maybe a trillion! Do you know there are a million billions in a trillion?! Imagine there are that many worlds, populated like ours!

So the more I think I know, it's likely the less I know.

I feel that we are One, but we are not the Same.

Peace

Well said and I agree to it.

quote:

We are all one and yet not same...

I would like add further, we are each incarnate of God, and not one of us is perfect a perfect one. We are striving for perfection every moment until our death on earth.

Only masters are more perfect incarnate of God, than us. I believe when Jesus said Follow me, I am the way. He wanted us to not just follow his steps but follow what he sought.

Hope I didn't stirred a pot there :) Just wanted to make a point there.
