Good morning IAT.I mentioned that phrase not being in the Bible, because it is largely attributed as being found there. This mistaken belief has given it more credence, more weight. The statement "God helps those who help themselves" may be true--and then again, it may not. As I pondered in my original post, it may or may not be true.
quote:
Would you still believe that being alive and cured is more good in the eyes of God? If I was in the womans shoes, I would have chosen to die
Well now, where do I begin?
The woman in my story believed it would be 'more good' to be alive and cured and with her family, whether or not on an esoteric or higher level it is 'more good' to be dead/alive on a different plane. So she helped herself. She prayed and worked on manifesting wellness and did all the procedures she possibly could. But despite helping herself, God/dess refused her request.
Now, you may say that God/dess gave her something that is 'more good' than what she wanted.
But...if we are trying to help ourselves manifest what we want and/or need...and we are refused, then God/dess hasn't helped us. Not in the manner in which we believe that helping ourselves will lead us.
There are those who pray to die, for various reasons, not the least of which is debilitating pain. Being dead would be 'more good' for them (and as you implied, death may be 'more good' for everyone)...and yet, God/dess refuses them.

It doesn't matter what I believe might be more or less good in the eyes of God/dess. I wouldn't presume to even know! It may be that all things are equal in the eyes of God/dess...which would make All things One.
Ah...so if all things are One, then God/dess has helped those who help themselves, because despite whatever it is you want/need/desire and help yourself to achieve...All Things Are One...ergo...whatever you receive from helping yourself is what you wanted, whether you knew it or not.
Nope, the Bible is not my book. I'm not a christian, I'm not a fan of dogma or religion at all. What I find is that we like to throw around the word 'enlightened.' Frankly, I'm not sure any such thing exists on this plane. And if it does...well, it doesn't exist in those ...uh oh, must go!
More soon. Maybe.
