i read paulo coehlo's "the alchemist" a couple years ago.. just got to thinking about it last night again.. has anyone read it?there are so many mentions of omens in life.. i'd like to discuss the different symbols we find in our lives, and how we interpret them.. last night i saw an owl image formed from ice on a storefront awning.. a few years ago, i found a one inch tall teddy bear.. made of green plastic.. i still have it.. shortly after finding the bear, i discovered i was pregnant. keys.. i've found keys on the sidewalk more times than i can recall.. i've always found them to be an indicator.. important times are upon me... pay attention IP: Logged |

Interesting..I remember one Omen and I do not know what it means. I was taking ashes of my Dad to be immersed in the waters. The SUV driver was quite rash. On the way a dog came running and just got hit by the car. My dad was very kind. He gave a life to 2 dogs kind of. One he used to bathe himseld once a month. I asked to stop the car and my relatives said that its not appropiate to stop because, dad is present over the ashes somehow till its immersed. I obliged and yet guilty, was it right what I did? I have a strong feeling the dog would got maimed or something? IP: Logged |

that must have been upsettingyou wanted to stop and help the pup, your father would have too... i'm not "qualified" to give meaning to this.. i often find that if we recognise something as omen, we also hae an impression as to what it means. IP: Logged |

Yes, you can read signs everywhere depending on your understanding at that moment in what you wish to learn, etc. So many times they have layers, so you can be astounded by the amount of meaning, and yet, no one else will ever know what you went through. Truly a personal thing.Iamthat, I'm sure your dad will understand. I guess that situation is another memory you have that will tie back to how loving your dad was Dean. IP: Logged |

Last summer I was heading down to the docks to go fishing, and it was really really early in the morning, 3 am .... i luv fishing, but, in a way I just wanted to hurry up and catch the limit and go back and sleep! lol. ... anyways on the way down to the docks I was started starring off into the sky looking at the clouds, when I saw a FISH in the sky. My first thought, was, this is it... this is the trip we've been waiting for. Sure enough, within a 1 1/2/hr we caught our limit of 60. Boom done, In and Out ... just like I was hoping. I told my mom about the fish in the sky when we got back to camp, and she said "Musta been an omen" ang- IP: Logged |

The Romany Gypsy people are very into omens and signs. After a part of my house burnt down, a friend of ours who is Romany said having a fire is the chance for renewal (my ancestors were also romany). I agree finding keys and stuff like that represents unlocking secrets, puzzles in your life. I like it when I am thinking of people who have passed over and the little robin comes up to my house........very intersting isn't it?IP: Logged |
