...why Linda was against test tube babies and in-vitro fertilization, as stated in her book "Love Signs"? I have tried to figure this one out, but don't see the danger. I read in article on the first test tube baby, an English girl born in 1978. She was getting married. There were pictures of her, and she seemed like a normal, healthy, happy young woman to me. What are your thoughts on this? IP: Logged |

Welcome! I believe Linda was against these things due to her awareness of karma and the laws of nature. There is a natural harmony (a ' way ') that this energy operates throughout our existence, Linda, I think, felt that this type of conception is not in harmony with nature. I'm still undecided on my own stance though. ------------------ "The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle." Welcome! I thought she was just against cloning. I'll have to re-read it. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Perhaps...I better re-read it too. ------------------ "The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle." Anaïs Nin IP: Logged |

i think Linda believed that the soul that is concieved during the act of lovemaking is very dependent upon this physical act -- the interaction between the two parents, and their individual souls. this determines the nature of the soul that chooses to be born on this earth plane. this interaction is absent in the lab variety of conception. perhaps she feared the type or experience of the soul that would be conceived in this sterile, non-human manner. Was Linda able to have children the natural way? I had a friend who was desparate for a child and took the IVF treatment - she now has a 12 year old strong son - we were all so delighted for her, she was so meant to be a mother. I got pregnant the first time we tried to make a baby, at age 39. I have treated women who have been trying for years and have felt their grief. Its okay for others to pass judgement when they themselves arent faced with this very difficult dilemna, isnt it? Karma, or no karma, we all have the choice dont we- I would be very careful here! After all Linda was just a human being like the rest of us - our "inner" voices are so much stronger than another's at times arent they? Love to all xxx IP: Logged |

Yep, you hit the nail on the head there Saffron in regards to how Linda felt about it. Thanks, that was what I was looking for in Star signs, but I think she touched on that aspect in Gooberz. ------------------ "The dream was always running ahead of me.
