I paid a lot of money to spend a weekend with a man and his wife who had supposedly discovered something esoteric. They often opined that they loved teaching because they always learned more from their students than the students learned from them. In that case, I thought, why am I paying you? So what's a teacher? Maklhouf,Any spritial advice you have to pay for, will have depleted learning. A teacher, can be so many different things. My two daughters, have been mu greatest Teacher, There's a master that steps into my Uncle, I know not his name, but we have wonderful conversations, and I just pretend I'm talking to him, and ask questions. Also, MOther and Father reply when I ask specific questions. Teachers are all around us. Love and Light to ALL IP: Logged |

"Any spiritual advice you have to pay for will have depleted learning".........Ooooh Lotus that is SOME sweeping statement girl......most of the spirtual teachings I have gained I have in some form paid for.....and it hasnt lead to depleted learning for me......the opposite in fact......I like to give back wherever I can I believe in a fair and just energy exchange and as we all know money is just an energy....I wouldnt expect anyone to work for nothing...be it spiritual or otherwise.........especially it that person has taken years to learn their craft........and themselves paid others to gain their knowledge.... xxx

Maklhouf,TINK was looking for you a day or two ago. Lotus, Real Masters and teachers do (or can) often charge. That's reality, and it's not unreasonable. Ask your Masters about it. IP: Logged |

Thanks for your answers all. I'm not sure, but there may be a distinction between teaching and training, and it may be all right to charge for training?IP: Logged |

Sue g! I am with you dear lady! The money exchange is only that....another form of barter and trade. And there are alot of masters who charge!I know this might get me lambasted.... BUT... How many of you really love Linda Goodman and her books? Many of you treat her as a master teacher or guru! AND YOU BUY HER BOOKS WITH ... MONEY!!!!!!!! Why should a teacher of anything give it away...all the time? Sheesh...they gotta eat too! And pay bills! So if they spend all their time helping folks and teaching...You mean They do not deserve to be paid?!!!???? That is freaking stupid and selfish! That is using and abusing and taking atvantage of a master or teacher! Or anyone for services rendered that improve YOUR life! Their time and energy is worth more than a "love and light..thank you very much "... No more comment..that attitude just sux roxs bigtime! IP: Logged |

The couple I spoke about in the beginning pointed out that usually people just don't value something if they get for free. So I suppose that from that point of view it blesses the student to pay. But if the teacher is learning from the student?IP: Logged |

MakI agree......when I qualified as an aromatherapist....being the type of person who gave everything away for free (low self worth then), a few said the same thing to me.... Be careful that you dont undervalue yourself,,,,or people will not take you seriously.....plus you are giving out the message that you are not worthy if it is free, at times... xx IP: Logged |

In the case of the Master, you go and live in his house, and do the housework etc, Perhaps he even beats you But, in some sense, sharing the Master's life seems to be the wisest way.IP: Logged |

Thanks Sue! I give so much away...yet still live on the edge of poverty! I see people get rich or have financial success because Of help I have freely given. But they forget when they are all busy with their wealth..who it was who helped them. I guess money doth corrupt some...especially those who think THEY DESERVE a free ride! I have actually been told by the various spiritualist people...especially the ones I term.."Lily Dalers"...that "You are not a real psychic because you did not get certified at Lily Dale, and you don't charge for your readings". THEY DO!!!!!! ALOT!!!!!! And most are ordained ministers! Gads! The freaking double standards! So I stay for the most part a recluse. I just do not get it at all. Disgusting really. I charge..I get insulted! I do not charge..I get insulted! Well PPPFFFFFTTTTT!!!!!!IP: Logged |

Well, I think that Money really doesn'y mean much, but it is very imortant to life. We need it - not just food or clothing, we have rates, bills etc, and many people do not have sheep or chickens to trade with - only money. So I don't see the big deal against it, but some people seem to get all business like and treat people like they are money bags or whatever, but definitely not all. The real quetion is how much are they worth? How can you tell without spending heaps of money trying out all sorts of people? This is the dilemma. Some people just give others a bad name - as Ben Harper says "Hey mister, it's misters like you who put the rest of us to shame". As for teachers learning from their students, they don't learn what they teach - they learn more how to teach better. Should you pay them to teach others better? Well, you pay them for the growth, their growth comes really through karma as well as experience. If they charge too much, then they might not grow much, and their business might suffer. Maybe not - Karma is very complex. Just my thoughts, Heaps of Love, Dean. IP: Logged |

Dean, those were very good thoughts and yes money is needed Linda taught that we should give half away, I'v done this since 1998, and have never had any problems, actually things have gotten better. I've never charged for a Tarot reading, been doing those since 98. The whole Idea that you get what you give is a universal law whatever you give will come back in some way. No WOrrries The Universe takes care of us, like MOther and Father, the knowledge and wisdom of KNowing you are taken care of it really works. Love and LIght to ALL IP: Logged |
