Schizophrenia: Many health care professionals divide mental illness into two basic categories: mood disorders and schizophrenic disorders. Mood disorders are generally episodic in nature, and people like you suffer from them usually seem to return to normal between episodes. This is not true for most people with schizophrenia.

The characteristic symptoms of schizophrenia are disordered thinking and preception, emotional changes such as tension and/ or depression, behavioral disturbances ranging from catatonia to violent outbursts, delusions, loss of contact with reality. A person with schizophrenia often seems to withdraw onto his or her own world. hallucinations are not uncommon.

I have worked with many people with developmental disorders and I would have to say that you can't give someone help and try to make them understand whats really going on, unless she goes and gets help from some professionals. Poor girl, she is really sick and does need some professional help. She really can't help herself!!!

Maybe this is meant in some metaphysical sort of way that I just don't understand, but it comes across as sounding like a delusion of grandeur. Please know that I'm not trying to make fun of you or put you down - I've known people with schizophrenia before.

No, I certainly didn't have any tests to try to run on you - far from it. I'm certainly no psychologist. I can only speak from my own (limited) experience, and what I can see here sitting at my computer.

I'm sure you can see though, from your experience with your ex, how you could sometimes come across to people? I'm in no way saying that I think you're insane - I think that in many ways you are very clear-thinking. There are only a few places that it looks like you might have some delusional thinking, and this is what I think most of the people here have been trying to refer to.

It worries me because, in every other respect, I think you exhibit some wonderful traits.

I know there isn't much chance of you listening to me, but have you ever talked to a counselor? I have, and they've helped me through issues that I've had incredibly. And before I talked to them, I would have sworn that I had no issues to deal with. That's how life is, I guess - sometimes it takes someone else to point out something we cannot see ourselves, and when we see it and aknowledge it, then we can grow.

I just hope that you realize soon that it's not possible to grow if you believe that you know everything already. I'll pray for you.
