I finally saw this.

Other than taking out a few of the 'suspenceful' moments of figuring out codes, I thought it was very well done!

I saw "Code" again with my mother, because we were out together shopping or something, and as we passed the movietheater, I suggested that her see the film because she had been a fan of Tom Hanks', but hadn't been very keen on watching his performance in "Code" (he "looked too old", she said, and I disagreed), and despite the fact that some ppl said that he was micast or he didn't do it well enough this time etc...

I told Mother that Tom Hanks' brief performance as the Harvard professor of symbology delivering a speech in Paris greatly inspired me, and that I sort of "imitated" his style while presenting my oral book review (for "I am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help") at the monthly meeting of the MHF (Mental Health Foundation- a local organization in Taiwan, but I suspect that this body is under heavy political maneuvering by Taiwan's shameless ruling government- a bunch of virtual gangsters) volunteers; if not a total success, at least it surely drew the others' attention. Their response was generally positive- thanks to Tom Hanks.

And I really think Audrey Tautou is beautiful, she seems to possess this serene elegant, and gracious quality- at least onscreen. She's perfect for her role- Sophie Neveu, the sacred feminine. Her acting in this movie could have been even better had Ron Howard directed this piece in a better way.

I don't think its possible to interpret books are long and filled with magnificent depth......I haven't read the book yet, but I will get round to it- haven't seen the movie- worried about all the bad reviews- but if I haven't read the book and don't know the story, then perhaps the film won't be such a let-down?
I'm quite a fan of Audrey Tautou- she has such enchantment- but perhaps there will never be another film quite like 'Amelie'.
