War is a good example..War comes about..when all other choices have been exhuasted..thus they the soldiers are forced into it..not there choice. ...but..yes there choice to be in the military..and take that chance that they are called upon..to take a life.. I know it sounds complicated..but each situation..is about the Universal Laws.. and simply you get what you give... . IP: Logged |

To not bear arms is a choice. Or should be. To be forced to bear arms or else be punished for the refusing to kill others, is wrong. Too often wars go on because no one says, "NO MORE KILLING". Being FORCED into war and murder for usually poltical agendas is again, a point of view. Soldiers on BOTH SIDES ARE BOTH ENEMY AND NON ENEMY.IT IS ALL IN ONE's POINT OF VIEW. WAR IS WRONG.
NO MATTER WHO "THINKS" THEY ARE RIGHT, BOTH SIDE "THINK" THEY ARE GOOD! To live by the sword means to die by the sword. Two wrongs do not equate to a right. All are losers, even the winners. ------------------ ~I intend to continue learning forever~Enigma ~I am still learning~ Michangelo The Door to Gnosis is never permanently locked...one only needs the correct keys and passwords.~Enigma The pious man with closed eyes can often hold more ego than a proud man with open eyes.~NEXUS Out of the mouth of babes commeth wisdom that can rival that of sages.~Enigma In the rough, or cut and polished..a diamond is still a precious gem. -NEXUS-

Dean Indeed our time on this earth is dwarfed by the age of the Universe. Ishmael --rings a bell....but exactly to what are you referring ? Dear Maddynick2003, (hope I got it right) If you know this other person is going to kill someone, you must try to stop that. But how. By something called your Dharma person (or duty in english). Its also an example of indirect karma.
Theres also the law of turning the other cheek which you may think it contradicts the above law but it does not. It means giving in to hardships that you may face, understanding that you are only serving God and no one else.
US army will not accrue negative karma by going to war, I think. Its their dharma to fight and defend their country. If they don't fight to defend their country , they do attract a negative karma. But the goal must be to give up weapons by all soldiers by all sides. The generals must question their military commander, what are we achieving going to war? Diplomacy always wins more than war. What will the citizens of America do when their leader declares him to be the king during an emergency time? Welcome maddynick2003! As to your questions, it all comes down to how you can live with yourself afterwards. And then, to view your life after that and to see the impact you had on the other's life and family. As for war, I think it's all about money. Anyone seen Farenheit 911? I know it's biased, but it gives a lot of info on the behind the scenes stuff that we never see. Also, the fact that you see people saying they will continue to terrorise as long as people stay in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't want this thread to turn political, but I just wonder what the point is, except for money.Mannu, I refer to a novel by Daniel Quinn. A great read with a lot of information and philosophy. Welcome, Maddynick! faytem, I ike enigma too! About war, I think you are both right in a way. In a way, war is a choice- theoretically if each soldier could think for themself and have the guts to refuse to kill or group up together and plan mutiny, then it would work. Or if no-one joined the army then what? But what if an evil dictator decided he was going to come and hurt those you love- how would we defend ourselves? The problem is politics- who can you trust? If only wars could be fought out on computer games, not with real lives! I think, in a way, when one joins the army, they give up the right to think for themselves. But as you can see- I don't have all the answers & I don't wish to offend anyone. But I do think that fighting on computer games instead is a good idea! Mannu, I am very drawn to the eastern teachings. Love
