Lia, I hope you don't mind me doing this because I know you are humble and don't seek fanfare of any kind. However, I felt the need to let you know how very much you are appreciated here at LL for the beauty of your words that come from a unique, pure heart and for the love and inspiration that, without knowing it, you bring to us all. There is a song that reminds me of you. "Vincent ( Starry, Starry Night) by Don McClean. While Vincent van Gogh took up his palate and brought beauty and love into the world with his paintings, you do it with your poetry and the beauty, love and inspiration contained in your eloquent writings. I just want to thank you for bringing so much beauty, love, inspiration and goodness of heart into my life. You are so appreciated and admired very much by me, dear, sweet, loving, Lia. A pure heart and a beautiful soul. Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) Don McLean
Starry, starry night. Paint your palette blue and grey, Look out on a summer's day, With eyes that know the darkness in my soul. Shadows on the hills, Sketch the trees and the daffodils, Catch the breeze and the winter chills, In colors on the snowy linen land. Now I understand what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now. Starry, starry night. Flaming flowers that brightly blaze, Swirling clouds in violet haze, Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue. Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain, Weathered faces lined in pain, Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand. Now I understand what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now. For they could not love you, But still your love was true. And when no hope was left in sight On that starry, starry night, You took your life, as lovers often do. But I could have told you, Vincent, This world was never meant for one As beautiful as you. Starry, starry night. Portraits hung in empty halls, Frameless head on nameless walls, With eyes that watch the world and can't forget. Like the strangers that you've met, The ragged men in the ragged clothes, The silver thorn of bloody rose, Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow. Now I think I know what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they're not listening still. Perhaps they never will... Like Vincent, I'm certain that you suffer greatly too for the love you give to others. Pure hearts always do suffer more because the loud, self promoting people in the world are usually the ones who are heard and listened to the most. The small, still voice of pure love often goes unnoticed and unheralded. Pure hearts and beautiful souls carry the pain of the lack of love in the world for the rest of us.

That was beautifully said, Mirandee Lia, I will do some imaging..... methinks it's time to manifest into being a wonderful soul to share some of your life with you For all you've selflessly given, here at LL and elsewhere, here is my wish -- May the Universe deluge you with Love today and all the rest of your days..... I was so suprised by this and moved. Mirandee, I love that song. I heard it just the other day at work! How freaky is that? Not a song you hear very often these days. I tear up everytime I hear it...especially the part about 'this world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you'. I've been blind-sided and rendered speechless. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Mirandee and everyone. IP: Logged |

Zala thank you for the wish. My friends are all trying to 'set me up' now that I'm single. I'm like, whoah, whoah, whoah! Stop the bus! I feel like a romantic, not easily understood...unable to live a 'normal' existance. It would have to be some spontaneous combustion... and would he be a brilliant, explorative, adventurous, cherishing, life-seizing, passionate romantic who would leap off arms open wide off the end of the earth with me, willing to have an amazingly profound, life-altering, soul-transforming, senses entirely exhausted experience with no thought of controlling it or forming it into a shape other than whatever it is meant to be~ timeless, profound to the depths, lasting or not, yet not defined...just totally taken as a gift however it comes in the moment? ha~~see my quandary? Earthling men scare me. Actually, I've many amazing souls, sharing this life experience with me, such as you all, and so what else would I need for? (well, of course some mind-blowing sex would always be nice!) *kisses* all around.
Silverstone, you know the feeling is mutual. There's something very special about you, that I haven't yet got a handle on, but I always sense it.

This is a beautiful song, Lia and yes, that is amazing that you just heard the song. Freaky in fact. Didn't know why that particular song popped into my head though I do have it on one of my oldies Cd's but haven't listened to in quite some time. Now I am just thinking it was meant to be because you must have been pre-kindergarten when that song was out. For you to even know the song amazes me. I have been trying in all my lack of computer skills to find a way to post a link to that song so you all can hear it which is so much better than just reading the lyrics. If any of you more knowledgable computer folks ( Zala or Rainbow???) can assist me and post a link to that song I would appreciate it very much. If not my son will be over this weekend and maybe he can help me out with that. At any rate will keep trying to get a link up here for you all to hear it. IP: Logged |

Mirandee ~If you have the song on your hard-drive, email it to me..... Find the file in My Documents. Right-click on the file name. When the pop-up menu appears, choose Send or Send To. Choose Mail Recipient (as Attachment). Your email program should open. If it does not, then your email program isn't set up to automatically open when the "Send To" option is chosen (and I don't remember how to do this). If that is so, then just start a New Message and "Attach" the file.....my email can handle an attachment over 10mb (your song is probably around 4mb) -- it would probably take an hour for it to depart your Outbox if you are on dialup, though I would be happy to host the song from my website!! I haven't heard it in awhile myself, and would enjoy it..... Fayte, your 2nd link didn't work for me..... Z IP: Logged |

Fayte sent me a couple of links in email this morning. Sorry, Fayte. Have been busy today and just saw that. Thanks for sending the links. There was only a very small portion of the song on the links though. Sort of like a demo. And it was sung by Chole and not Don McClean. She actually has a nice voice and from what I heard of the demo she did a good job with the song. Don McClean does it better though. Thanks anyway, Fayte. I appreciate it. If I can't get the original one on here maybe I will use that link just to give people an idea of the melody etc. Then they can image it with the words. IP: Logged |

LOL @ Mannu. Better to give someone a tribute while they are still alive and can enjoy it. Speaking of eulogies, it is said that the number one fear of people is public speaking. Which proves that at funerals a person would rather be in the coffin than giving the eulogy. hee hee IP: Logged |

Zala, my brain hemorraged just reading those instructions. lol. And maybe you have some magical powers because I was given a suprising gift by a customer at work last night. I sell jewelry and I helped him pick out a white gold sapphire ring, all along thinking it was for someone else. Then he suprised me by giving it to me...I wouldn't accept it...a struggle unsued He pretty much left me no choice...walked away, leaving me with the ring and receipt, telling me it was 'just for fun--no obligations'. He's been asking me out for months, but I've been wriggling away everytime. It's not him, he's very nice...I've wriggled away from everyone...I don't know. Guess it's a bit too scary to consider just yet. Fayte, thanks for posting the link. I did get to hear it briefly. It's true, she does have a beautiful voice.

I hope this works. Here is the link that Fayte sent to me. Though short, it does give you an idea of how beautiful the music is along with the lyrics of Vincent. http://play.rhapsody.com/joshgroban/joshgroban/track-9?didAutoplayBounce=true]http://play.rhapsody.com/joshgroban/joshgroban/track-9?didAutoplayBounce=true Lia, How romantic!!!! For the guy to actually have you pick out your own ring without knowing it like that shows he is a bit of a romantic. But I do fully understand why at this time in your life you are going slow and hesitant. Once bitten twice shy. I would be the same way. IP: Logged |

Actually this is the full version of the song by Josh Groban. Still like the version by Don McClean better but it's a beautiful song no matter who sings it. Thanks Fayte I couldn't download off that CD onto my C drive no matter how hard I tried. It would only download the whole CD and I only wanted the one song off that particular CD. I could have done that and then just deleted all the other songs and kept that one but that was too much work for me. lol IP: Logged |

Okay, If I am lucky and this does work, I think I may have here for you the original version of Vincent by Don McClean. You know how tenacious we Taureans are. You can judge for yourselves which version is better. This one is my favorite. http://www.rhapsody.com/player?type=track&id=1930779&title=Vincent&remote=false&page=rotw.artistpage&pageregion=B1&guid=null&from=guide# IP: Logged |

It worked!!!!!! I am just so proud of myself I am giddy Which proves the point I try to make to people that stubborness or tenacity is not necessarily a negative trait. It can denote a very positive never give up, never say die attitude. It's only negative when you don't have enough sense to know when to call it quits. But I owe it to Fayte for giving me the idea in the first place. IP: Logged |
