Now that's paying for the sins of their mother.

i like lexx's interpretation. "sin" is generally seen to be "doing evil" but i believe it originally meant "making a mistake"...

that said, there is much truth in the saying, as where your parents went wrong will generally affect you since it is part of the paradigm you grow up in...so without a lot of awareness you will carry it forward, or the results of how you were treated influence your worldview and therefore your actions and reactions.

I refuse to submit to the generational curse theory. I will try with all my might to rise above the sins of my father and mother. To me, it appears too doomsday initially and must be turned right side up, to point one towards personal ascension.

I think the concept of "sin"/ "good"/ "evil" is false...the whole cycle of guilt, hatred of sin and feelings of unworthiness prevents us from embracing the holistic path of simply loving and accepting ourselves the way we are, striving to learn (from our mistakes) without guilt or hatred....which simply hold us back.

I've missed you LTT. Yes, I recently read that in the lowest level of consciousness one operates in the state of guilt/blame/shame. Hence, the great difficulty in escaping the massive suppression of being "in the world" and constantly facing the challenging projections of every encounter with fellow human beings.
