I have only had intuitions about major life changing events in my life, so far. when that happens, the feeling is always pretty strong, and happens immediately before something has to come about...in any case, it persists...its not like i get some ideas, and then forget about them. it is a continuing feeling, until whatever it is i am feeling strongly about comes to pass.

There are tiny instincts though, which I do not put into the category of 'intuition'. these are more to do with day to day things. I call them instincts because it is like listening to your body. Just being mindful and attentive. For example, a few months back, I felt like fasting, for no apparent reason. (and I am the sort of person who had never really believed in fasting etc). That too, specifically on thursdays. Then about 2 weeks later, I got a detailed report from a vedic astrologer who I had consulted. And it mentioned that fasting on thursdays would prove beneficial to me. I was quite taken aback. Another instance is me getting a craving for some foods, and then learning later that they are beneficial for rheumatoid arthritis. things like that.

i searched everywhere for them. never could find them. soon after, i was graced with a matriarchal visit. my mother brought some of her beautiful designer dresses to give to me, bought new shoes for me; we made reservations at a renowned restaurant in D.C., and had tickets for the ballet at the Kennedy Center.

and she said, "won't your pearls be perfect for this?" i was so praying that she would forget that i had them.

as she was preparing for our elegant evening, i sat in the living room panicking. i was elated about our imminent event, but feeling devastated at the thought of telling her about the missing pearls.

so i said a quick, very fervent prayer to the universe, for help in finding them. and at that precise moment, i plunged my hand deep down into the cushions of the sofa right where i was sitting. my hand landed directly on my cat's stash, which included the string of pearls.

a moment later my mother walked into the living room, and asked if i had my pearls to put on. of course, i said, with as much nonchalance as i could muster, gripping them in my hand.

It would be nice to evolve some sort of telethapy of the heart; empathy. A feeling, knowing inside how we are all interconnected. Empathy/ love would be a a law unto itself.
