Random thoughts:Aquarius seeks to transcend his humanity,
and feels his flesh pinch at every turn.
Pisces becomes fully human, and, so, transcends.

Your highest dream is your deepest prayer.

Heaven begins on Earth.
Be still, Stargazer;
You cannot gaze at the stars,
and watch your steps.

Spirit is not superior to Flesh,
or Fire to Earth.
One rises, the other falls.
But the Here and Now is not above or below;
it is always betwixt such two as these.

After Heidegger
"Being in the world" is like "being in love".
We are caught up, involved.
We are in it,
not as scrap of paper is in the trash,
but, as a piston is in an engine,
or a person is in love.
True knowing is knowing HOW, not knowing THAT. We know false things. We make use of real things; we only see them as means, and do not observe them as objects in themselves. We do not "know" a mop. We USE it to mop the floor. We look at it only when it malfunctions. This is very Tao. Sounds like Chuang Tzu. And more: You cannot seperate the mop from the purpose of the mop, including the suds, the floor, the grime, and the anxiety at the root of it all. The self that "knows" is a thinker. The self that lives in wisdom doesnt know. He uses. The mop is forgotten.
This ultimate being -
the state in which we "chop wood, carry water",
and lose ourselves in the occupation,
Heidegger calls "dasein".
But I think the distinction is superficial one.
For me all things, real or unreal, are dasein.
Heidegger would certainly agree that,
if you are a painter, painting is dasein for you.
But would he understand his own dasein, as a thinker?
My theory is my dasein.

Dualism is the highest form of thought.
Monism is unthinkable.
If you think there is a difference
between dualism and monism,
you are a dualist.

To a prophet the world is prophetic.
To a visionary the world is a vision.
To a logician the world is logical.
To a poet the world is poetical.
To a fool the world is foolish.
To a comic the world is comical.
To a depressive the world is depressing.
Heidegger said,
"I will not go fishing in the muddy waters of value."
But Neitzsche had it right -
"All life is a dispute over taste and tasting."
To have a point of view is to fish in muddy waters.

We imagine that we are in conflict,
each defending his or her own square of earth,
but ours is a great collaborative effort,
too vast for human eyes,
too subtle for human reason to discern.

Bacon said:
[to paraphrase]
A method is a path. Genius is fleetness of foot.
On the wrong path, a genius only hastens further and further
beyond his fellows in the wrong direction.
But I doubt there is any wrong path:
Even madness has its method.
Bacon himself stood on the shoulders of giants,
though he may have reckoned them fools.
He learned more from their errors,
or the errors of history, attributed to them,
than he ever could learn from his own method.
His place in history was auspicious,
but, had he lived a century earlier,
he would have been the very thing he critiqued.
He thought mankind was enslaved by a handful of Greek thinkers.
"The Idols of the Theater" he called them.
He said the philosophy of one man
is the philosophy of one man,
and it is absurd for millions to debate
between the philosophies of a few men.
Wisdom, he said, results from the combined efforts of many.
Descartes, taking his place after Bacon,
was right to see that those thinkers
(and their philosophies),
were not arbitrarily elected by history, but,
that they were voices of trans-generational influence,
reflecting the combined wisdom of mankind.
This coincides with Astrology's concept of the outer planets,
which are always strong in the charts of such thinkers.

The surface is the mystery.
The mystery is a trip.
A trip back to the surface,
with new appreciation for the surface.
The trip is also the surface.
(Thats the mystery!)

Thoughts are bodies.
Mind is space.
I am a body in my own mind.
Just another one of many.

Being devoured may be orgasmic,
being starved, never.

Every man's philosophy is his own.
It will never fit anyone so well as himself,
and, even then, it will begin to pinch.
