Tink, happy birthday. Are you really number 2 person?

AG, I though your mars was fasting, but apparently not I think I better ignore you everywhere else except GU. Your presense seems to polarize the thread that I am on. It is proven that you are following me everywhere to see if I am making any anti Obama comments. And if I do, you follow it with a pro Obama.

Lexx, I too will cherish the short friendship we had. It was good. I can understand why you always see people as making judgements when all that they are doing is stating their honest opinions.

No, I'm a 3 person. I was a 2 name person in my old single life. Now I'm an 8 name person. Took about two years before I could feel the difference. Whatever.

Thank you

I think lexx and I share an anniversary date, as well. Midsummer, isn't that right, lexx?

I have Not dropped the friendship Mannu.
That is your idea not mine.

I don't think you ever knew the aggressive side of me. If you followed GU perhaps you would.
No I had not seen your aggressive side. And I stay out of GU mostly because of the grief I got there because I am for the rights of gay people. My posting there will not help any cause...it would only bring me more stress and grief.

If you someday have a change of heart about ending friendship....and explain the "cheap" slam...I will listen...the ball is in your court.

Take care and good luck in your life old friend.

if you don't want any pity, then stop bringing up all the things that have happened to you, like your the only person in the world that has been mis-treated..and then you will not be looking for pity...

you told Mannu he was not spiritual for the way he talked about people, yet you do the same thing...

yet, still, you can't see what you do.

Fine, I am done trying to make you see, that you are being two-faced, it's okay for you, but not anyone else, you are treated worse in GU, than anyone else...

poor poor poor you...

come on, LEXX...

I use to do what you did, bring it all up, and fight about it..not anymore..I know better NOW, and NOW is WON!

Tink,

Happy birthday!

Ok, I'll admit that I don't know better. I'm afraid you'll have to point me in a direction to learn what you'd like me to know. I've read a number of articles here in the minutes since your post, but I'm failing to see what you're getting at. The only subtle thing I noticed in your post was the use of Navy radio lingo, "Say again."

Mannu,

quote:
AG, I though your mars was fasting, but apparently not

Nope, it's just the weekend. Politics isn't an all-consuming need of mine.

quote:
It is proven that you are following me everywhere to see if I am making any anti Obama comments. And if I do, you follow it with a pro Obama.

It is unusual that you'd be posting politically in this part of the forum, that's true, but if you notice, I've been leaving a lot of your conspiracy threads in GU alone, which means I'm not following all of your anti-Obama posts with pro-Obama posts. I'm not even sure that I would consider my posts to be pro-Obama. I mostly think of them as anti-alarmist.

I have only two reservations about McCain's personality when it comes to the Presidency: his impulsive nature in responding to foreign policy matters; and how his age might affect his thinking. Both of these may not end up liabilities, so I don't feel terribly alarmist myself when contemplating a McCain presidency. There are two other non-personality-related deciding factors, for me, against McCain. One is the next Supreme Court nominations. I believe it's in the nation's best interests to keep that court balanced. A McCain presidency threatens that. The second, is the possibility of a McCain death. I don't think anyone wants Palin running the country.

Why is Obama a better bet despite anything bad a Republican might infer about his character?

1. He has something to prove. Think about it. If all manner of nasty implication were made about you in order to keep you from a position, would you confirm everyone's negative view once you got the position? No. You'd work hard to prove that those who believed in you were right for trusting you, and you'd work equally hard to prove that those who were against you were wrong about you. Running against the lack of judgment in Bush, he's got to be a paragon of good judgment now. Missteps for him will carry more weight. (Also, being the first black President will further serve to motivate him to act positively.)

2. His demeanor. He has shown himself to be a person who doesn't act rashly, and who avails himself to expert advice. He shows discipline.

3. His foreign policy ideas appear to be well-advised. I know McCain likes to chide Obama about the surge, but the truth is that the surge hasn't fixed everything. Not even close. The political reconciliation Obama and Biden have called for are a necessary component for success there. Further, Obama's been right on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I don't care about:

Taxes - the economy will upturn regardless of who's the new President
Programs - most will be blocked or abandoned
Moral Issues - I honestly don't believe either candidate will pursue anything controversial in that arena

AG ,
You are funny there is a Bush appointed Chief Justice right now and the country is not threatened I already replied to Lexx on her fears of womans rights being threatened by a McCain presidency --he said he will not perform a litmus test on issue of abortion.

And I don't you understand the checks and balances of the constitution that well otherwise you won't have made that foolish statement. The rest of the US is fearing a democrat supermajority congress and a liberal president. The last time it happened was with Carter. And it was a disaster.

Can you please take this discussion to GU if you want to continue because Lexx made it clear she does not want her thread to go into politics.

And I prefer Palin over Obama anyday. She is intelligent and has handheld billion dollar budgets. In couple of years she should be able to pick up Federal job requirements. She may not be so strong on foreign policies today than Obama but she has proven respect for Israel. Unlike Obama who went on record saying he will side with the Islam country if there is a war. This is in his book "Audacity of Hope". That is scary. Do you think Israel is not following this development closely? I don't want you to answer that question. They are a intelligent bunch of people.

Lexx - I find all whiners boring. Who gives a damn to what people are or about all of their sins? Whatever you are is between you and God. Why make a religion out of it? And no I am not a tortured soul as you suggest. What ever gave you that notion. I am very happy. I have finally found what I was looking for. I too stand for gay rights but after they are done wearing butt plugs and dancing in the rain they will have to come back to their jobs. There I stand for same rights for gays in health insurance as straight. Socially I believe in civil union rights for gays but not marriage because I think marriage is just a custom. It is symbollic of man meeting woman. How could two male or two female meet each other? Even you know that don't you? If the priest and church is willing they can perform such a wedding. I think there are plenty of priests available online who can do that, except they won't find a catholic priest willing to marry them Its idiotic to mix state with church.

Also when economy is healthy, people could follow pursue their dreams. The republicans ideas are great and the world is following that but US. China has 0 percent capital tax while Obama proposes 18 percent. It means when you take money out from 401k or IRA you pay higher tax. I don't think I will ever vote for a democrat. I will write to republicans my intentions and they understand freedom more than the democrats. The democrat party is becoming socialists like in Europe. One day they will terminate gays like Hitler did in Europe. Sorry a republican and a libetarian will never allow that. They stand for individual freedom. You respect mine while I respect yours.

I would like to end our friendship because I think you are too egotistical and enjoy playing drama, just kidding. Hope you will respect the private thoughts I shared with you and take it to the grave with you.

That is not a rolleyes moment, Mannu. That is, in fact, an inadequate reply to what I said, and it shows me that you don't know what I'm talking about in this regard.

The issue is that the next President will likely name at least one person to the Supreme Court. In order to maintain political balance on that court, it would be preferable for a Democrat to make the next nominations lest the court lean too heavily to the Right.

quote:
The rest of the US is fearing a democrat supermajority congress and a liberal president.

What is required in order to have a liberal President and a Democrat supermajority in Congress? Approval by the "rest of the US." Shortly, we'll see if America does indeed fear these things, or if that is merely a construct of the Republican mind.

quote:

It is mildly funny and ironic that you post politically to her in this thread having said the above.

quote:
And I prefer Palin over Obama anyday.

Number one reason why famous Republicans are voting Obama: Sarah Palin.

quote:
The republicans ideas are great and the world is following that but US.

Still haven't looked up the economy under both parties?

The politicians changes sides to what people want. And poll shows people wants Obama. Politicians wants power in the cabinet. All loser senators like Bob Casey etc jumped ship to Obama.

This is not the case where a doctor says I eat this for my heart and so should you. All politicians especially liberals are cunning. Never follow them.

I already replied to you about why republicans are better. Cut paste all my previous posts and read in order. Your brain is wired differently so you won't get it. I don't blame you for that.

Your other argument about supreme court is lame because why would courts undo previous laws? Its not that easy to undo laws.

What is your fear? McCain is a centrist in his party not an ultra conservative. So no need to fear. He gets to appoint other justices too.

Infact you should worry about a liberal majority in supreme court. Away goes your guns and other constitutional freedoms.

Can you imagine what will liberal majority in congress, president and surpreme court do to this country?

AG In deference to Lexx, I'll keep the purely political stuff short and sweet.

quote:
JFK participated in the military during WW2. He commanded a patrol torpedo boat. As President he OK'ed Republican Eisenhower's Bay of Pigs plan. He also presided during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also initiated military support for Southern Vietnam. In fact, if JFK hadn't been assassinated, John McCain may not have ended up being a prisoner in Vietnam for five years. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy#Vietnam for details.

To beef up JFK's hawk credentials by saying he "presided over the Cuban Missle Crisis" or "ok'd the Bay of Pigs" isn't exactly fair, is it? There's quite a bit more to it. You're one of the most intelligant posters here and politically very well informed, so I can't think you can't see this. I can't imagine you're not aware of the uneasy relationship between Kennedy and the true hawks in his administration. If not, as I said, start with Robert Strange McNamara. He's the funnel.

My grandfather was a Navy radio man in WWII. Subtlety sometimes amuses me.
