Thanks Steve,

It continues to amaze me how you never cease to grow. I have spits and spurts, where you seem to have gushes

quote:
Yes, but, a subtle mind will percieve flaws in his own understanding which another person would not.
So, we think as much as we need to in order to comprehend this world as deeply as we can,
in accordance with the subtlety of our intellects, and the extent of our desire for deeper understanding.

I'm not so sure about what you mean by subtle mind, but it's interesting to me that you say this person sees things in themselves more than others, but what if the other was also a subtle mind? Could they see more? I think I understand your drive to delve deep into understanding, but I have to disagree with this statement on principle - I try not to fall down the rabbit hole to far - I like to know where the sun is at all times. For this reason (and others) I am staying well clear of World of Warcraft :P So yes, I guess what your saying is actually very true (after a re-read). My extent is shallow, but if I still didn't delve as deep as I could in my shallow mind, I would feel unfulfilled and would never grow. And if you don't grow, you shrivel. However, maybe the shallower the mind, the less people need to try? They are amazed at the smallest things like a story or ant or sports. My point is, like you say, the extent of a mind limits the depth one delves and perhaps the tendency to think or analyze themselves. Is the subtlety thing the capacity for analysis?

Cheers,
Dean.

And yet, I still live with my parents.

You are kind, Dean.

I think, to some extent, it is.

But it has more to do with imagination and intuition.
We can only analyze the thought in our head, but,
imagination and intuition allow other possibilities to enter.
So, while analysis alone may get you there, its the long way to go.

In the world, all things are decided,
but in myself there is only questioning.

So continuous is this questioning,
that I cannot articulate my questions
without falling into deeper questions.

How can I live in the world,
where questions are eyed with mistrust;
where answers roll off every tongue,
and, on all sides, I am confronted
with some convenient expectation?

I cannot speak, move, or live in that world
without feeling like a liar among liars,
in a world made of lies.

Nothing is clear to me.
Everything is subtle beyond human understanding.

"You Think Too Much"

It is true in the sense that mind can never know Existence in its totality. It can only influence your perception of it.
Your reality is more beautiful and joyous than your thoughts. Thoughts flows outwards. They are single directional.

*timidly tiptoeing, and nervously clearing my throat*

You know, I think your thinking and the depths of thought comes from your ascendants ruler being in virgo and the 8th.

Nietzsche's 8th house is(in placidus)also connected to the 1st. Like you said he was complex. Even with the whole house system his 1st is connected to 8th, by scorpio.

This connection of 1 and 8 gives an intensity, a need to master the self through struggling and probing every crevice of the human experience. And virgo is analyzer par excellence. That you can articulate this exploration so well is probably a bit unnerving to those around you. It is likely hard enough for someone to have this placement. But for those who don't, it can be a bit threatening to see someone getting behind that veil of our world. Ignorance is a bliss most don't want to give up. Hence "you think to much" can be translated into "you're disturbing by ignorance and I can't handle it."

I do not have any great ability to articulate what I think so I have to hope you understand what I mean. (I have neptune in 3rd, it befuddles the communicating)

I guess I just wanted to add that I used to do a great amount of thinking about very deep and spiritual things. I couldn't handle it. I began to get phobic and have panic attacks because I couldn't shut the analyzing off. When I get to far from the practical I lose grip on reality. Probably sounds silly/stupid. But when it's in your mind it's real. And reality is so frail to begin with...and the ego...

(of course it could be just my reality and my ego....)

I think you articulated it very well.

Pluto also squares my Ascendant..
Nietzsche's Ascendant was Scorpio,
and he had Pluto in Aries (op Sun).

Three more 1 and 8 connections there.

I think you may be onto something.
