Wanted to renew this topic on a new thread!

An eye for an eye...
Getting off the Karmic "Payback Wheel".
Walking one's talk of peace.
Karma v/s Free Will.
A balance, a choice.
We can end the cycles.

If one goes out and hurts someone else because they've been hurt by that other, then that accrues another "debt" that they will have to repay at some future point in order to balance the energies they have misused, by lashing out again rather than forgiving. It is an unending cycle that only choice and free will can put an end to.
But even then...the person you owe or if you were the wronged party, you or they... can negate the debt and stop the payback cycle.
That is what "turning the other cheek" means too. Not to be hit again but to turn away and refuse to play the game. (Hee hee, I like to think it could mean to "moon" someone with those "other cheeks" saying in essence...Fu-k off! I am not going to fight you!)
And during every second of every day, We have Free Will. WE are free to choose our behavior, our reactions. Our free will could cause us to choose to act in a negative unloving manner, or it could cause us to choose to act in a positive and loving manner. In Essence....Karma and Free Will co-existing in a balance.
If one only follows Karma then the payback cycle continues. Two wrongs do not make a right. We have the free will to say no to the Karmic cycles of payback, and to not incur any new Karmic debts.
So I like to say......"get off the cross, they need the wood"....or "get off the wheel and walk your talk".
Feet can climb but a wheel cannot.
Feet can take us off the familiar paths, but the wheel must stay on the road.

Ok...

rant over!

(My old signature lines included just this once!)

~Out of the mouth of babes commeth wisdom that can rival that of sages.

I love the original version of this thread, thank you Lexx for re-inventing.

I have often pondered this subject, mainly cause I do not want to be trapped within karmic obligations to my late husband, nor to my psycho ex bfriend, so I have adopted (alot due to info I recieved from this original thread) to just jump off the wheel and release any karma, good or bad to the universe.

Does not mean I go through life not caring what I do and without concern for the energy I am putting out there, I DO!

I just refuse to be trapped by somebody else's wrong doings to me, so I release them....and free me.

Great reply!
And yes, it is about getting off the Karmic "payback" wheel, not getting off the wheel of life and reincarnation.
Your attitude is right on!
Letting go is not about denial or not caring, it is about going on with your own life.
You cannot change what was, nor can you change others.
Blessings to you!

In counselling I think the very same deal is called ...Taking responsibility for your own actions..... And refusing to playing into transactional analysis games.... Adult to adult, open and direct communication solves the problem combined with the ability to accept people for who they are rather than taking things personally or taking responsibility for other people's actions.
Acceptance is a biggie, I think it should nearly replace the word forgiveness.

i VERY much agree with this. though the quantum guys are apparently saying that it MAY be possible to change the past, you can certainly change the effects of the past...

and i so hate it when people talk about how there is no way around "working through" your karmic obligations to the people in your lives...as if without a penal system the universe would collapse or something equally dire!

Thank you, Lexx, Lady, blessings to you, as well....

Lennon's "Wheels" is coming to mind now

"I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll, no longer riding on the merry-go-round, I just had to let it go...."

Hm...now off to Gypsee's thread!

There are times when I wish I could get off the wheel totally. But that's just the depression talking.

starr

just "jump", that is, just make the choice to give it up to god and be within the divine presence of all that is...

"let go let god?"

leave it all behind, just step off the karmic wheel, and fall deep into the loving hands of the universe...

into grace.

i refuse to believe this is not a kind and loving existence, and i refuse to believe we are bound by our past actions and the actions of others toward us for eternity.

free will, we create our own existence.

and depression?

it consumes me at times.

I understand.
Depression is not an easy thing to live with.
May happiness come to you!

No offense taken.
Someone messaged me in private.
I think perhaps it was thought you were saying one should commit suicide.
That was not what I thought but one must take care when telling depressed folks to jump off the wheel.

I have no idea who the person was.
Grrrrrrrrrr.........
I have been getting a lot of goofy e-mail to the e-mail I use as a moderator.
Zala had the same kind of thing happen, but far worse.
So, yeah, put it down to some random jerk trying to make trouble.....and my not making sure it was someone actually from LL, or any banned one(s).
Sorry.

Yes I know of your late husband.
That is why I knew you were not suggesting it.

Please stay.{{{HUGS}}}

You understand too well the pain of it all.
There is at least one other here who has been through such a loss.
Your thoughts on such things could do much good for many folks.
