well i have no doubt MJ was in the presence when he was onstage, whether osho or not. many performers have connected with this energy...it's the biggest hook of all the hooks for entertainers, and i'm not knocking it. it's one path to the divine.IP: Logged |

That's interesting. Yeah, Osho was big on dancing, singing etc. In the way we usually think of dance and also as a meditation, a way of becoming free and living in a moment and recognizing and being part of the dance we call life.IP: Logged |

Thanks for the helpful suggestions! I think I will start out with Joy and Zen. I'm looking forward to reading them.IP: Logged |

That's really interesting about MJ. I hadn't heard that before. I had heard of him saying that if he fell asleep he could miss out on divine ideas and that they could go to Prince instead. I've read of other artsists saying that things come "through" or "to" them - Eric Clapton and Robert Plant come immediately to mind, but I've never heard or thought of someone being on stage and dancing with a presence. Actually quite like that - there's something magical about that.IP: Logged |

keith richards on playing outdoors:-"god is in the cross winds" and he also credits all his songs to RECEPTIVENESS not genius.mozart also said pieces would come to him whole and all he did was get out paper and capture them.. i think at LEAST half of the creative people i have read about or known feel similarly. whether it was OSHO onstage with michael or just the godpresence, he was obviously plugged in to something. and then he too seemed to lose it. his later performances often had a rote quality though they also still had brilliance...the price of doing something so well that people clamour for you to do it again ...and again...and again... katI'm sure I've read that Einstein obtained his information through dreams. That's also how Stephanie Meyer says the Twilight saga came to her. JK Rowling has said that the basics of the Harry Potter story and characters came to her while she was stuck on the train and it just came in, and that even after she'd written the books and applied certain things, like herbs or aromatics, when she investigated them they were perfect for what she'd written. I really do believe it's about receptiveness and that the idea of "genius" only comes from the ego that doesn't recognise it's a part of something bigger than itself. There's a reason why so many artists, when they get up to accept awards, thank God. There has to be a meeting of reception/divine guidance and creativity/God-given-talent. True about people wanting something replayed over and over. That's why so many music artists can make a lifetime out of a one hit wonder or a handful of hits. Look at David Cassidy and Peter Frampton. Michael Jackson had so many brilliant dance moves but people would scream when he did the Moonwalk over anything else. They must just get sick of doing it eventually and feel like they're not being allowed to grow. IP: Logged |

Just read this and thought i'd share: quote: Thinking, you are separated from existence. Thinking is not a relation, it is not a bridge, it is not a communication ¯ it is a barrier. Non-thinking you are related, bridged; you are in communion. When you are talking to someone, you are not related. The very talk becomes a barrier. The more you talk, the further away you move. If you are with someone in silence, you are related. If the silence is really deep and there are no thoughts in your mind and both the minds are totally silent, you are one.Whenever you are silent with someone, you are one. When you are silent with existence, you are one with it. This technique says be silent with existence and then you will know what God is. There is only one dialogue with existence and that is in silence. If you talk with existence, you miss. Then you are enveloped in your own thoughts. Try this as an experiment. Try it with anything ¯ even with a rock. Be silent with it ¯ take it in your hand and be silent ¯ and there will be a communion. You will move deep into the rock and the rock will move deep into you. Your secrets will be revealed to the rock and the rock will reveal its secrets to you. But you cannot use language with it. The rock doesn’t know any language. Confined in thoughts you will be in misery. Unconfined, beyond thoughts ¯ alert, conscious, aware, but unclouded by thoughts ¯ you will be joy, you will be bliss. OSHO

I know that Paul McCartney said that Yesterday came to him in a dream. He woke up at it was just there I remember reading that he said something about "did I write it? no but it came to me and so I wrote it down." I've had that communion before too, when singing opera, or writing poetry. Like it will come out, it's gotta come out somewhere because the Universe needs to share it, it's just if you are open to being the vessel or not. IP: Logged |
