I suspect this author could have been a thread topic before. I'll be surprise if he hasn't been. http://www.oshoviha.org/index.php?show_category=133 He seems like someone worth spending time on contemplative reading.

Careful now koi. Some people here at this forum would like to burn this man at the stake. Which is often the case with revolutionary people with messages and wisdom to share. LOL! You are not wrong in thinking his name has been a topic of converstion here before. He has been one of my greatest teachers on my path and i have read a bunch of his books. Although I dont jive with everything he says, i do with most of it and have taken what speaks with me at a deep level and it has helped me greatly. I can say assuredly that i would not be who i am today without him and in the past i would mentally send thanks to him often. What a gift to people he has been. Though he is definately not for everyone. He's edgier. From what i remember he has a huge amount of planetary placements in Capricorn... Anyway, yes, i'm a fan. IP: Logged |

Kundalini Realized man with amazing insights, but a tragic ending.Excerpt From wikipedia: << In his early days as Acharya Rajneesh, a correspondent once asked Osho for his "Ten Commandments". In his letter of reply, Osho noted that it was a difficult matter, because he was against any kind of commandment, but "just for fun" agreed to set out the following: 1. Never obey anyone's command unless it is coming from within you also. 2. There is no God other than life itself. 3. Truth is within you, do not search for it elsewhere. 4. Love is prayer. 5. To become a nothingness is the door to truth. Nothingness itself is the means, the goal and attainment. 6. Life is now and here. 7. Live wakefully. 8. Do not swim – float. 9. Die each moment so that you can be new each moment. 10. Do not search. That which is, is. Stop and see.

Lara, I think T mentioned Osho in another recent thread as did you in a different thread. So we have some Osho synchronicity happening here in LL!I see a lot of people are posting that his works made a big positive impact on them so now I am very interested in reading his work. As far as the controversies about him, I'm okay with making up my own mind only after reading him for myself. I'd like to begin with one Osho book. What do you who have read him recommend? Musette, I would suggest to start reading Osho, to look for one of his writings that adresses a subject matter of interst to you now.I purchased "The Book of Secrets" and it is long, beefy, as a matter of fact, the "beef" of his writings, but get a taste of him first with a smaller literary work. One of my favs is "Love, Freedom and Aloneness" or "Emotional Wellbeing." ~~~ He is a contorversial figure, and I work with alot of Indian docs who have seen me reading his works at work and do not hesitate to tell me how much disliked he was/is in India, however I really sync with alot of what he has to say, so I to not judge the man for his alleged human indescretions. About the only thing I really don't like that he had to say is regarding raising children in a commune environ...other than that, I have not run across enough for me to stop reading Osho. blessings t~~~ IP: Logged |

i was introduced to the man unexpectedly by a woman my age when i was about twenty...? at a bookstore. i was picking up a book called Kundalini Rising by a different author and it ended up that she introduced me to Osho. it was a surreal experience and i was never able to find her again.anyway, she told me about the Book of Secrets, which i later picked up. Hippichick is right, it's a very meaty book and would probably take years to digest properly. My Osho library right now consits of these books (in order of my favorites first) : Love, Freedom and Aloneness The Koan of Relationships Zen The Path of Paradox Yoga The Science of the Soul Pharmacy of the Soul Meditation - The First and Last Freedom Sex Matters - From Sex to Superconsciousness Intimacy - Trusting Oneself and the Other Intelligence - The Creative Response to Now Maturity - The Responsibility of Being Oneself Joy - The Happiness that Comes from Within Courage - The Joy of Living Life Dangerously ______________________________ One I've skimmed through and eventually would like to pick up:
The Buddha Said.... IP: Logged |

OSHO is known as the other person on stage with Michael Jackson. MJ always used to talk about a presence on stage with him that would take him to a higher place where he could transcend his body and therefore obtain the moves he made in dance.IP: Logged |
