I've been reading some really old posts that were bumped in this forum[thanks for bumping them ] and my mind picked up a lot of mention of spiders as representative of negativity or simply not 'good'.I wonder about this because I had a dream about giant spiders and webs. Also my mother considers spiders and spider webs to bring 'bad luck'. In a movie I saw, now that I'm connecting dots, a spider is called an imp and used to put a spell of destruction upon a person. Also, in the old posts there seems to be a correlations between spiders and humanoid ETs that are disguising themselves on Earth. Lexx mentioned "arachnoid hive mind" too. I wanna learn more...so, please contribute ------------------ Stars incline, they do not compel...Linda Goodman ♥ IP: Logged |

I never minded spiders. They benefit us by reducing the number of flies in our houses etc. Of course I am lucky to live in a country where they are not poisonous.IP: Logged |

omg. i had it out with one of these spider beings (diplomatically like) they can be reasoned with. the energy it brought to my room was un-nerving to say the least, even my cat gave warning. the smaller the creature the bigger the astral wave, so we should'nt be fooled by small appearances or deal in thoughtless violence, the laws of the universe span throughout to the multiverse IP: Logged |

I've always looked at spiders as good omens. It is said that it's bad luck to kill a spider in your home. I leave the tiny ones alone, and I catch the larger ones and set them free outside. Spider dreams are usually positive (depending on the details of the dream). But that's just my take. ------------------ "Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." Hmm...interesting replies and all different I have never personally minded spiders...we leave each other alone though I sometimes play with the little ones. I prefer not to kill any living creature nowadays and try to just leave them out. My dream could be classified as a nightmare except it didn't affect me much. I was part of a team trying to look for something and we were attacked by huge football sized spiders, all except me. I remember walking through the dreamscape like a ghost i.e, unaffected by what was happening around me. I didn't think much of it until I read the bumped posts. I guess the spiders are harmless afterall...unless they have an hourglass Randall: This might sound like an odd request but the forum needs a puppy dog face smilie...pwweaseee ------------------ Stars incline, they do not compel...Linda Goodman ♥ IP: Logged |

well maybe your dreams not far the echoes off an ancient past Frozen Queen, of which you seem to resonate quite nicely with ouu my thoughts go to Hagrid (harrry potter!) and his little spider friend he saved (was football sized then grew more into an elephant sized spider!) the one that visited me was see through, legs like clear white hairs (slightly thicker than hair though) with a tiny bit of black within its abdomen. magnificent creature... it tried to 'sneak' up on me lowering on a thread as i turned my back , but as i turned round after funny feelings like 'electric hum' it froze legs all wide-like 'you cant see me!' i said to the spid, 'i seee youuu' in a state of fear but awe and said that i wouldn't harm despite its intentions of creepy night stalking over, and he made his way back up thread after hanging there for a bit. i couldn't sleep for hours though i think we are friends now, so yes Randall i concur with them as good omen. - The unexamined life is not worth living - Socrates

"arachnoid hive mind" This refers to a hive of collective unconscous... like the queen bee who communicates to all the other bees. A "arachnoid hive mind" means that we are all under the influence of collective unconscious which could be manipulated by superior minds?I also watched an interview of Hank Wessleman, and he talked about how our brain can actually change shape within 15 minutes, shaped according to how it's wired. Hmm...it is only in recent years that neuroscientists have begun accepting the idea of "Neuronal Plasticity" that the brain is not hard-wired but that neural pathways are modified over time and change according to signals. That is why meditation is such an integral part of Eastern spirituality. Meditation calms the mind and the body and the focusing and concentration alter the blood flow, creating newer pathways and changes in the physiology as a direct result of altered brain signals. The "normal" human blood pressure is 120/80 mm of mercury and I once shocked my Physiology Professor when she measured mine at 72/60 without any signs of hypotension like ashen skin, loss of consciousness etc. I am intrigued by the concept of a hive mind and I perceive it to be a reality in our society although sociologists use the term "mob mentality"...semantical differences only.
The tendency to conform, to look for the familiar and hold onto it even when faced by compelling evidence to the contrary is a product of such a collective unconscious, allowing humans to be herded like sheep by those in power who understand the mechanics of the mind. I would like to present an example from everyday life on this. The practice of "hazing" or "ragging" and other similar "rites of passage" is designed to invoke the hive mind in a person. Psychologists call it a Stockholm Syndrome but I believe it to be the hive mind at work. Quinnie: Your post on MKULTRA and the creation of assassins ties into this as well: painful and psychologically damaging experiences meant to induce a state of suggestibility. Hmm...my mind is munching
