I have them, but I didn't watch them, I guess because I was disappointed with the ending. Thank you, I'll come back to this thread after I see them.IP: Logged |

I can relate to what you are saying.I remember the moment when I was 5, I was at school, and curiously, it was during weaving a tapestry to create a pattern in the middle of these paper robots we were making that a similar fear came to me. What if the people around me weren't really real, what if only I was the truly conscious being experiencing these things as I sit here and think about this....all alone in the universe? My moods and viewpoints shift and change a lot. At the moment I am worrying a lot about not ever really being able to know the answers, and the fear that everything is just random, or an accident. There is definitely order in the universe....but is it an accidental order? What drives it? Do we have to have pain to have joy as well? Is it all just an endless cycle? IP: Logged |

My two cents, or rather my personal truth: everything there is is consciousness and we are all one, so we are alone because there is only one consciousness. It's an organised chaos - I believe that there are rules, but that from the inside, it seems like chaos. So yes, accidental order is appropriate. The drive... is the energy itself. It expands and it contracts in order to create and to destroy, destruction comes from creation and viceversa. Duality serves the purpose of this drive. And sadly, or joyfully it is an endless cycle. What goes up will come down.I love this man. He died at 33, the Christic age. My memory is poor, but I listened to this over and over again so it stayed with me... That's my own deepest soul fear....that this life is nothing more than an endless cycle, that nothing will last, but only regenerate and keep changing.....to me it seems as though all the struggles aren't really worth it if this is the case....it makes me simply long for peace, to not be on "the ride" any more.

I love Bill Hicks too.....and I was thinking of that exact quote last night, but as I explained in my previous post, such a thought makes me feel terribly depressed, because it would mean all the pain and suffering experienced on Earth would be pointless and meaningless....all for nothing? If there is any truth in it, wouldn't that the the hardest, cruelest thing possible?Maybe my grandad was right when I asked him what he believes happens when we die etc, why we are here "no-one really knows". "True wisdom exists in knowing that we know nothing" as a groovy man from Ancient Greece once said. quote: And sadly, or joyfully it is an endless cycle. What goes up will come.

The main point I feel from Bill's quote, is not the fact that we are on a ride and we should aim to get off it. Rather it is that we can, when we choose too... embrace creativity in all its forms and make the ride whatever it is that you really want to experience, and share with others Learn to be in love with the fact that you have such potential, life will feel alot less glum hehe

Yes Lei, in my happiest hours I know this is true... they seem to be pretty rare these days though quote: Originally posted by listenstotrees: I love Bill Hicks too.....and I was thinking of that exact quote last night, but as I explained in my previous post, such a thought makes me feel terribly depressed, because it would mean all the pain and suffering experienced on Earth would be pointless and meaningless....all for nothing? Nope, remember, what goes up must come down. Duality... Suffering has its twin. Joy, happiness, ecstasy. In my experience, which was similar to what lalitree experienced, there was nothing. Stillness. Aloneness. It was scary for me, since it's hard to accept that this is what non-duality "feels" like, although "feel" is a wrong choice of word because there was no feeling. I know the ride is hard. These past transits have been hell for most of the people I know including myself. Maybe we are going down on the ride in order to... beats me, we're heading downwards in order to experience joy afterwards? I really have no idea. I know I'm in pain and that most of the time I can't see the point. And the point is that there is no point. It's just a ride. And if you want to get off it, that's ok too. You will. Buddha said that life is suffering because the mind always desires something. And Osho said one can't make himself let go. That it's a process and that it has to happen naturally. I happen to agree with these statements. That is, when I'm not bitching and whining And feeling like my heart is being ripped out of my chest because it hurts so bad. It's just a ride... Barbie Buddha over and out IP: Logged |

listenstotrees, i was going to say the same thing to maira...i fear that everything just goes up and down and just continues like that, that there is nothing...how do you put it--conclusive to it. i don't know why, but that is how i feel. the way you described your experience in school sounded very familiar to me. isn't it amazing though...just to consider the fact that here i am, and there you are, and we each feel and know that we are alone? so which one of us is real then you know whenever i read one of your posts i feel like we are on the same wavelength... you probably don't remember but my name used to be Obe...i think i told you that before too IP: Logged |

and then, as if to compensate of course, i am forced to face the deeps. do you think duality IS the nature of mind? or that it is something that humanity brings along... does the desperation/sense that comes along with duality appear because of our human minds, or because of the great mind...?

YES, it is. quote: Originally posted by lalitree: or that it is something that humanity brings along... does the desperation/sense that comes along with duality appear because of our human minds, or because of the great mind...?
Human minds ofcourse....but don't think that after we transcend duality there is no desperation. Ofcourse the usual one which we face is no more but there is another. Can you guess?
