This is a continuation of a discussion I was having with LauraAesthetic who will hopefully join me here soon to talk about orbs.

I have been seeing big flashes of light in my house lately, that I have no explanation for. I am very scrupulous about ruling out everything else that it could have been, like lightning or a passing car's headlights or electrical anomaly. But, at least the first time, I'm positive it was none of those things.

The first time coincided with an energy scan that someone did of me after I went to bed one night but hadn't fallen asleep. After putting some pieces together with the timing, I concluded that I was just sensing this person's spirit in my presence or something. It was bewildering and crazy, but at least there was an explanation.

The second time I was out in my backyard gathering firewood. I looked up into my boys' bedroom where the light was on, and then something like a flashbulb went off that filled the room with light. I dropped the logs and raced inside. Everyone was in the living room, preoccupied with other things. I asked if anyone was playing with a camera in the boys' bedroom and they said, "No" and looked at me strangely, because obviously they were all engaged in other activities. The bedroom where it happened was empty.

I would have been able to write this off as the lightbulb malfunctioning, except it was the second time I had seen something like that. And then, a few nights later, totally out of the blue, my oldest son said: "Mom, I think our house might be haunted. Twice now, after we've gone to bed, I have seen these brilliant, like blindingly bright flashes of light explode in front of me. I keep asking H (younger brother) if he sees them, but he's always asleep. What IS that???"

I don't know, maybe he overheard me telling my friend on the phone about seeing the first light, but I doubt it, because I take precautions not to let my kids know just how weird their mother is.

And I don't think he would lie about that, and he didn't sound like he was lying, either.

I just told him that I see them, too, and have no idea whatsoever what's happening.

Any ideas?

HI! I just wanted to say I read the thread! It might take me a couple of hrs. But I already have your chart & my ametuer skills are at work! My main focus is going to be scouting for similar stories or articles. Give me some time.

No one else has similar experiences? Noo wayyy. I'll be waiting! If someone can do a "flash scan" , there has to be someone here who knows. Did you try asking the medium bby?

I'm still searching but does it look anything like this? Of course these people are going to think it's some UFO stuff, but does it look like that?

Yay, you're here! You wanna talk about your experience or do you have stage fright?

I did clicky, thank you. That's nothing like my flashing light...is it like what you've seen?

My flash looks like a VERY bright camera flash, happening in midair, with nothing there causing it.

I didn't tell the person who I thought was responsible for the first flash that there have been more flashes because I don't want it to sound like I suspect they are electro-stalking my family.

CRaZee but true.

I will join you in researching because it's a full moon and what better thing can I do than go on an internet ghost hunt?

This is probably a hoax, but the first flashes that kind of fill the room look very much like what I saw in my sons' room.

Your vid was good, now I'm mad because my first video could of been a glare they distorted or something (idk if that's possible but photoshop does wonder)

Ok yeah now I get the idea. Idk if this is a hoax, but it made it to the news! That's interesting!
http://youtu.be/Hwgl_30Dzns your flashes aren't that big but I feel like you put me on track with that vid! & they even put a slow mo in there! Or you think the news is genuinely as confused?

LOL The news reporter goes, "We thought it was a transformer, if you have any responses tweet us at..."

I know the youtube comments are ridiculous, they can't figure it out either. I am for real when I wanna know what these weird flashing/light orb things are. The one you put was way to ******* freaky. I used to watch fact or faked paranormal files. I'm gonna see if they ever had an episode where they had to investigate a similar vid. It's a good show because they actually go to great lengths (funny to watch), to prove whether a video is a hoax or just can't be explained.

After seeing yours I love this one!

I will join you in researching because it's a full moon and what better thing can I do than go on an internet ghost hunt?- hahahahah!

Whoa that's great! HUGE flash...hmmm!!!

I dunno, up until about two months ago I would have just assumed that was the gov't doing top secret stuff. Now I am all disoriented because I feel like the supernatural is forcing itself on me. Like now I HAVE to consider it might be some electrical phenomenon no one even understands or....well there is no limit to what it could be. Aliens, God...whatever!

But I couldn't find anything else on YouTube worth posting last night. And for some reason all the ghost websites seem designed with the motive of "scaring the cr*p out of people, as much as we can." So even READING about orbs/flashes got uncomfortable because I have to look at skulls, lettering dripping with blood and/or ghost plasma...which I don't like, at midnight.

There are some good sites about seeing orbs but I have to find the links again. I'll show you, if I can find them.

Thank you for your post on the other thread... that is really wild that your father's spirit is strong enough to move stuff. I can't imagine how you cope, I would be seriously freaked out!!!

But I guess I will have to raise my tolerance level for weirdness.

No worries if you don't have any new info, I don't want to burden you, but if I find new stuff, I'll leave it here.

How does it affect your eyesight?

As a child I use to see "fairies" which were mostly flashes and balls of light (sometimes I'd catch them as something else for a few seconds, and then once I saw faery dogs and though they felt strange it was years before I realized they fit the classic description). There was something odd about the lights, however, and then I realized what it was: it didn't make my eyes dilate as if I'd seen a real flash. That is if I saw such a fairy (or ghost) light at night it wouldn't ruin my night vision.

So I'm just curious. Of course if things can mysteriously go up in spontaneous combustion then I don't see why physical light couldn't be produced by mysterious means as well...

You know, that's a good question.

They happen so fast, I don't notice what's going on with my eyes. I don't recall eye strain, or feeling like my sight was screwed up after the flash in the kids' room. But in both cases I was in the dark when it happened, so I couldn't test the after-shock of the flash too well.

I haven't mentioned yet that I commonly, every single day, see tiny little flashes of light. Probably the main reason I haven't mentioned it is, back in college I worked at the campus radio station, and one of the school's most eccentric, New Age professors used to have his show while I was working. He wrote books about UFO research. He would come in early, before his show, to sit and chat with me. We talked about all kinds of stuff...his Native American wife and her beliefs, James Van Praagh, whom he had gone to see in person, and energy healing.

One day I confided in him that I saw little "sparkles" all the time. Little pops of light, usually around the ceiling. And his eyes kind of glazed over and he nodded and excused himself to go do his show.

LOL, I always took that as an "expert" telling me that I was just nuts if I thought that meant anything "spiritual."

But I told my hubby about it a few weeks ago, because it's getting ridiculous how often I see these, he said it might be high blood pressure. Okaaayy...I never had that, but....yeah, I'll just assume my vision is going spastic. That's fine.

I'm actually desperate for any way to write off these weird lights, without having to concede that I am being haunted or that the ability to see into the spirit realm is being foisted on me against my will.

But I should re-examine that, I'm starting to realize.

I kind of do believe in fairies after Elizabeth Kuebler-Ross wrote about seeing photographs of them. She wouldn't lie.

yesss!!! I knew there had to be someone else! lol yup, whether gov. conspired or not, it's up there

And faith LMAOO, same here. I'm just like I guess this just can't be explained, or whoever is experiencing just has to go with the flow. I get similar stuff, but more like "woo woo" information like , "angels, guides, etc." But it doesn't give me back up information, or a plausible explanation. So I think we're stumped on this one. =[

& those ghost hunter shows, it's always the same crap. "Some guy from 1925 still lurks in the halls." Then they like to get into those demonic/possession stories! Uhm I pass, once I see someone hyperventalating trying to climb on walls. Even if there's some truth to it, I was not first in line to watch the devil inside.

Not saying that I totally believe in this, but don't they say that "Spicans" (beings from Spica), appear as orbs of light?

^ Never heard of them before!

Here's something more about weird light.

From this thread:

quote:
For example, I once saw a horizontal band of light in my room in the middle of the night. For some reason I had been unable to sleep, so was laying in bed with my eyes open. The room was pitch dark, windows closed, shades drawn, and no street light was entering the room. Then in the darkest corner of the room I saw the horizontal band of light, about 6 inches wide, golden in color, stretching from one wall for a few feet into the room. I closed my eyes and opened them again to still see the band.

When I asked my spiritual friends about this, I was told I was "on Holy ground." This didn't make sense to me because if one thinks of God as omnipresent, then all ground created by Him is Holy.

^ Linda Jones wrote that, and she is very level-headed.

Good point pixie! I found certain things about spica. At first I was seeing stuff about it that related more to soul groups, but I found something else about it that I thought seemed interesting.

The orbit of Spica and its companion star traveling at approximately 56 miles per second around their barycenter is four days, remarkably short for stars of the giant class. The fainter star appears to be half the size of Spica and the distance between these stars is about 11 million miles. Eighty percent of the light of this system comes from Spica, the primary star.--Last part, Really interesting!

& faith hahah I'm glad to make you laugh. Yeah I don't like the weird/creepy/dark stuff of mysticism, even if it "sort of" exists =/. But I think I'm going to have to count in with you on the vids. Again, I watched some dumb crap about "apocalypse 2012"( I don't believe in it, but I was in it for the theories if that makes sense)," & they were talking about the strange massive death of crows. One male in Europe happened to make a video using one dead crow, & then used some crazy software he had to make it look like it was raining crows. He admitted how he enjoyed reading the feedback online. He mentioned how he loved how some people were amused ( conspiracy theories), & how some knew it was a hoax. I thought JERK, so I'm going to disregard both vids.

Thank god you found that testomonial from another thread. Maybe other people's experiences is enough to justify the phenomena, even though we can't figure out what "it" is.

Well Laura, thanks for exploring this strange little topic with yours truly.

There is less interest than I hoped for!

Maybe I just have high blood pressure I dunno. That, or a guardian angel...one or the other.

Thanks for telling me about the crows prank. I'm really naive and susceptible to being fooled...so I tend to try and block out the weird stuff, but then I feel like I have to acknowledge some of it and find my own ways of verifying things, or seeing what I believe in.

Have you wandered into the Astrology 2.0 jungle yet?

Hope to see you around!

Faith,

I'd checked out this thread 2-3 days ago and hesitated to post, mostly because I don't know how such experiences are received by others.

Anyway, I'd like to tell you about another time that I saw a light.

It was again at night (during summer) and I happened to be in bed, facing the side where there was a fan on a table top nearby. The fan had stopped working ... maybe the motor died or smth ... and I hadn't yet gotten around to disposing it.

So there I was lying on my side, shortly after laying down in bed. The room was pitch dark, but my eyes were still open. Then suddenly I saw a small, golden yellow dot sized light moving ... more like dancing ... in front of the fan grille. It moved around in a zig-zag fashion, up and down, sideways, etc.

Fascinated, I just watched it for a bit, not thinking of anything particularly. It had been one of those days when I was so worn out physically, that it was an effort to even think. At the most I must've thought that I should go and have my eyes checked. My eyesight is fine and I don't wear glasses or contacts. Watching the dancing light actually put me to sleep very quickly.

The next morning I woke up refreshed with my brain more alert and I remembered the light. I looked at the fan curiously and then something prompted me to press the on button. Lo and behold the fan turned on fine! I just went hmm ... maybe the light fixed it lol. Yeah strange but true.

I've had many inexplicable experiences, which I haven't been able to understand. But my general approach is to consider them good. Because I feel that if I think of these things as bad or negative, then there's a greater chance that smth negative will happen as the outcome.

But at the same time, for protection purposes, I do violet light visualizing for myself, my loved ones, friends, etc., and even toward the light itself, so that any negativity will be kept at bay. And so far I've not felt any negativity take over my mind or affect my aura.

Hope this helps And sorry I hesitated so long before posting. I just wasn't sure.

Thank you, Linda!

I like to imagine tiny fan-fairies repairing your fan.

^ Like that only much smaller. It is pretty wild that you saw the lights and then a repair just happened at the same time!

I understand your hesitation, I really wasn't sure about mentioning this stuff, either. The first flash I saw is the weirdest one, because there is definitely NO explanation. No one was awake, and it was a big flash. All the other lights, I think maybe there is a "normal" reason for them that I just haven't figured out yet.

It's the best I can do.

You're very welcome!
And that's exactly how I saw that little dot of light ... as a tiny angel with wings working away on my fan while I was asleep. Like your pun in "fan-fairies," btw.

Your post made me wonder where your Mercury is ... and then I remembered from a GU thread that it's at 16 Gem, right?

Well, mine is at 10 Gem. Near enough for us to "get" each other. But then I also remembered that 16 Gem is exactly conjunct the fixed star Rigel (from Orion's belt)! Mine is exactly conjunct Aldebaran.

Anyway, I looked up what it means to have Merc conjunct Rigel. Here's what I found on--
http://www.constellationsofwords.com/stars/Rigel.html

With Mercury: Scientific, prominent position in connection with Mercurial matters or in science.

Nice!

Thank you, Linda!

My Mars is at 16 Gemini (you were close! Mercury and Mars both start with "M" after all ) I'm amazed you remembered I had something there!

I knew about Rigel being conjunct my Mars, but haven't researched it at all, so thanks very much for the link.

quote:
With Mars: Unruly, ingenious occupied with mechanical matters, great military preferment.

No mechanical genius that I know of (never really tried), no interest in ever joining the military, but I do have an interest in tactical strategies and war history...most of my sons' middle names come from famous generals.

My Mercury is at 5 Aquarius, so we are still mentally compatible.

^ LOL!

Yeah, I was speed reading that incredibly looong GU thread which is still going strong. I get busy for a bit and then come back to see there's sooo much to read.

And yay to the mental compatibility!

Hi guys. That's a new one on me...this flashing light business.

Just wanted to add my small experience with "orbs," to differentiate it from the flashing you saw. I went to a good "seance"/magic show kind of thing, one Halloween a few years ago, presented by this pasty white old guy stage magician. Part of the show involved pitch darkness and him conjuring up the supposed spirits of the previous owners of this old house we were in.

Anyway, these orbs were round, rather clearly defined orbs of light, constant in brightness and duration for several seconds, floating in the room. *Something* out of the ordinary was definitely going on. The night just got scarier after that.

Definitely different from the flashes you saw, Faith.

And reading Linda's account reminded me of this past summer, here in my apartment with no screen on the window. ...Several fireflies would enjoy coming in and lighting on and off all over the place, as I lay there in the dark. Not to discount Linda's experience at all, but just to account for other possibly earthly reasons for tiny lights on a summer night....

@Linda:

Yeah, I can't keep up with that GU thread either, anymore! I've tried but go cross-eyed because it seems like everyone is saying the same thing now, but they're arguing anyway? Last time I checked it was something like:

Person A: "Business leaders create demand and respond to the demands of the people."

Person B: "No! That's not what you said before, it's the government telling the business how to create demands, that's what matters."

Me: ????

@Jovian

Thanks for contributing!

The reason I included orbs in the title is because LauraAesthetic mentioned them on another thread. We decided to open this new thread...she is the "orb" girl and I am the "flash" girl...but I guess she changed her mind about telling her story.

@Laura

If you're still around, are you gonna talk about dem orbs?
