Cat with Thumbs

This very large cat moved in with us last summer. Other than being shy and obviously not enjoying the photo session, the only odd thing about her is her front paws, she has thumbs. I've seen cats with seven toes on each front paw, but not with thumbs.

Lotus - i was thinking the same thing. Only my comment was gonna be "The kittens HAVENT lost their mittens, so they shall not cry" ... LOL ... cute!!

Solane - i had an old cat Jack Daniels, er Jack for short. He was a stray we welcomed into our home. He had 6 in the front and normal 4 in the back. He too had thumbs. My MIL (aka - PixieDust)has several special cats with extra toes - also all rescues/adoptions. But im not sure if all her special kitties have "thumbs" or not. I'll have to direct her to this thread.

I love watching the "extra toed" cats play. You'll see em wrap their, er, thumbs around things and grab them just like we would. Really is quite facinating.

She looks like a real cutie. Closely resembles my old "Jack Cats"

We have 2 that have special toes!

Gunther - has 7 toes with thumbs. His back toes are normal.

Brie - has 6 toes on all 4's with thumbs.

We call them lobster feet!
