Well first off I am not a witch. Second off just because one is not a Christian does not make them ungodly nor a witch. Neither does it make them agaist Jesus, only the mythos about the great teacher. So...all who are not Christians are ungodly and witches eh?

Oh goodness, fayte! That was exactly my point. As you know, fundementalist Christians had (and sometimes still do) a tendency to label anyone with a opposing opinion a "witch" and "ungodly". And of course we all know the sad history of witch burnings. I was being a bit tongue in cheek, you see? Taking a jab at the ole gloom and doom orthodox types.

As I said, nothing to fear

Do you remember my posts about rabid Christians burning crosses in folks' yards in my area? Or beating me as a teenager, or my son beaten too, because we refused to pray at the morning prayer meetings some schools had?
Or the vadalizations and too many other assaults I have endured because folks think I am a witch because I do not go to church and have red hair 4 feet long, and wear black?
A Christian even turned my name over to the Sheriff's Occult Task Force. Yeah, decades ago there was one. Why was I turned in? Well in addition to having long red hair, wearing black(I am very heavy, what I should wear neon yellow?)well someone saw black cats around my home, totally ignoring the other 17 who were not black. And saw 3 white goats behind my home in a fenced in area.
They assumed the cats and goats were my evil familiars and used in pagan ceremonies.
Get this.....
The stupid goats..(I detest goats BTW) belonged to the Rabid Christian woman next door, not to me. Why do I call her rabid?
She preached all the time and would periodically warn me the world was ending each time their was to be an eclipse or whatever and urged me to take Jesus as my personal saviour and then to hide with her family in the basement and pray to God for mercy. When asked..am I welcome in your basement if I am not a Christian, if the world were really ending? Oh man! That really upset her! Of course I could not join them because unless I took Jesus as my personal saviour I was one of the damned of Satan. And more anger..."The world ends tonite! May God have mercy on your soul because I won't!".

I'm aware you've had unpleasant run-ins with more than a few lost souls. I do remember some stories. In fact, it was the memory of this that prompted my post. Bearing in mind what you've encountered, it's perfectly understandable that you would hesitate to share you're thoughts. I've noticed that you have very often voiced your fear of speaking what's on your mind here and I'm very sorry for that. My thought was to prehaps gently remind you that LL is quite a different place than most - intensely emotionally at times albeit but liberal all the same. My intent was, in fact, to encourage you. Nevertheless, I do understand why you would feel the way you do. Once bitten, twice shy as they say.

I do think you're safe here, fayte. But at any rate I promise to viciously attack any LL posters who might sink so low as to call you a satan worshipping witch. That's not playing fair and I won't stand idly by and accept it.

... and I don't offer my viciousness to just anyone, you know.

It's just you. You probably need to clear out your cache.

Witches/Wiccans are not Satan worshippers. Witches/Wiccans do not even believe in devils, or "the devil", or Satan. They do not believe that any devil exists. Nor do they perform any blood human or animal sacrifice, which is yet another common misconception on witchcraft/Wicca.

I realize that you had stated that you were a blend of Spiritist and Buddhist Humanist, but also a skeptic/agnostic/theorist. You said you are a Spiritist/Humanist minister. You are a minister. What does your work as a Spiritist/Humanist minister involve?

BTW you did provide a link on Spiritism to us knowflakes, but after reading its contents, I still don't have a clear image as what Spiristism is about. LEXX, could you sum up Spiritism in your own words, and taking this opportunity to share some of your thoughts on it? Thanks.

yes, Wicca is terribly misunderstood. It's a horrible shame really. So many of the wonderful pagan beliefs of the Celtic and Germanic tribes have been lost. The Wiccans are the only ones holding down the fort, as far as I can tell. They remembered the Mother when the rest of Europe mostly forgot. I adore them.

Lexx, I'd like to hear more about Spiritism vs Spiritualism too, if you feel up to it and don't mind sharing.

I can relate to your thinking. However, there are also other Pagan religions originated and revived in Europe (or revived in USA, too)- Asatru, Druidism, and other nature spirituality or nature religions in certain specific European countries.

LEXX,

I'll be waiting for your sharing with much anticipation!

I finally got caught up on many replies on various threads. I have been mostly bed bound this week, getting up to post, use the bathroom and sometimes eat, then off to bed again. LOL! At least I am losing weight! TINK, D for Defiant, Please bear with me. I will try to completely reply here after I rest again. Hopefully today will be a better day.
Good night folks.

D for Defiant...
try going to the top of your screen to the menu where it should say:
File Edit View Bookmarks Tools Help
Click on Tools
A drop down menu should show
Click on the one that says
Clear Private Data

Then select to delete cache and cookies.
Then refresh your page.
I hope that helps.

DfD I am glad it works most time for you. When it does not -- wait for the page to complete loading as it takes time to see your changes when the traffic at the web site particularly the thread increases and if you click refresh many times it creates duplicates.

We just to be patient i suppose.

You may click browsing history also from time to time.

And verify one thing I mean it should not be different if you haven't fiddle for you but just in case : In tools->internet options and in the browsing history section click settings and verify

check for newer versions of stored pages = Automatically.

Thanks, LEXX and Mannu for your kind instructions. The screens on the library computers are in Mandarin Chinese, so it gets a little hard for me.

LEXX

Get well soon. I hope you will feel better. I will await your detailed introduction for your spiritual practice.
