I have read many of your posts about you and your life and i think you are a very interesting person who has been through a lot and has a lot to teach. Thats why i enjoy talking to you
Anyways, you asked why it all scares me... I think it is because I am scared that i will be punished by God and I do feel like it is a sin to question the bible and the things I have been taught. I dont know if the reason i felt i knew myself better when i was younger is because i believed everything i was taught or if i just didnt really care about it and found happiness somewhere else.
The things that make me uncomfortable is i think not having anything to fall back on. An example is whenever i would get scared before i would ask god to help me and now i feel like he isnt there and if he is he isnt going to answer my prayers while im questioning his even existance. I just feel weird right now... is this normal?

OK...I do not believe you would be punished by God, and nor do I feel it is a sin to question the bible and the things you have been taught.
However you must ascertain for yourself if you can let go of those beliefs and move out into other ways of thinking, and thinking for yourself, not parroting what you were taught/told to believe. If you had been born in another country/culture, and felt as you do now, well it would be questioning Islam for example, or Judaism, and the Quuran or the Talmund, or Torah.
The precepts of organized religious thought seems to not sit well with your soul. You are afraid of retribution by God, but you know in your soul that you have not been told the truth, but simply interpretations, dogmas, of others, which is only one of thousands of belief systems being subscribed to on this planet. There have been many other
religions throughout time which have come and gone, and those were much older than Christianity.

or I dont know if the reason i felt i knew myself better when i was younger is because i believed everything i was taught or if i just didnt really care about it and found happiness somewhere else.
Good analysis! That was the conclusion I had hoped you would come to.
quote:
The things that make me uncomfortable is i think not having anything to fall back on.
I have heard that fear from many people. I shall comment more on that at the end of this posting.
quote:
An example is whenever i would get scared before i would ask god to help me
At those times you believed I assume, in a deity/God. "outside", of yourself, up in heaven, or whatever? A all loving being who would fix everything for you?
quote:
and now i feel like he isnt there
If you were looking outside yourself...(my view remember) no God was not there, and was not before either. I have a theory about God. I do not know if you have read it yet. Somewhat (but not exactly) like Neal Donald Walsch and his "Conversations With God" books.
quote:
and if he is he isnt going to answer my prayers while im questioning his even existance.
Are you familiar with the Biblical words, (paraphrased);
"God helps those who help themselves"
"Physician heal thyself"
"Ye are gods!"
???
I shall find my theory of God link for you.
For the moment....suffice it to say;
God is a part of you, or more accurately;
You are a Part of God!
Literally, not metaphorically!
From there it gets much more complex.
In my view, the creator/God of the highly allegorical/metaphorical/drastically simplified (so simple primitive people could understand to a degree) book of Genesis Chapter One....was NOT the same God portrayed from Genesis chapter Two onward for the most part. That is an extremely complex issue I shall not get into in this posting.
quote:
I just feel weird right now... is this normal?
Perfectly dear lady! Perfectly normal!

Ponder if you would these words from "The Gospel Of Thomas", which Yeshua(Jesus) said, which are not in the Bibles:
quote:
These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded.

1. And he said, "Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death."

2. Jesus said,
"Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find.
When they find, they will be disturbed.
When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all.

3. Jesus said,
"If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the kingdom is in the sky,'
then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you.
Rather, the kingdom is within you and it is outside you.

When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father.
But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."

4. Jesus said,
"The person old in days won't hesitate to ask a little child seven days old about the place of life,
and that person will live.

For many of the first will be last, and will become a single one."

5. Jesus said,
"Know what is in front of your face,
and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed.

Another slightly different translation:
quote:

These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.

(1) And he said,
"Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death."

(2) Jesus said,
"Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds.
When he finds, he will become troubled.
When he becomes troubled,
he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All."

(3) Jesus said,
"If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you.
If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you.
Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you.
When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known,
and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father.
But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

(4) Jesus said,
"The man old in days will not hesitate to ask a small child seven days old about the place of life,
and he will live. For many who are first will become last, and they will become one and the same."

(5) Jesus said,
"Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you .
For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest."

OK....returning now to what you said:
quote:
The things that make me uncomfortable is i think not having anything to fall back on.

I have heard that fear from many people.
Ponder this:
If/or when you discover that what you believed was not true, ephemeral at best, and that it was only hope and faith,
but had no real substance......
why would you want to "fall back" into a panacea of illusion/delusion no matter how good, cozy, and nice it felt to you
in your innocence and naivete`?
Have you seen the first Matrix movie? Would you choose to live in the world of The Matrix/the illusion of reality,
or would you choose to live in The World Of The Real/Reality?
Red or Blue pill, your choice.
quote:

Morpheus:
I imagine that right now, you're feeling a bit like Alice. Hmm? Tumbling down the rabbit hole?
Neo:
You could say that.
Morpheus:
I see it in your eyes.
You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up.
Ironically, that's not far from the truth.
Do you believe in fate, Neo?
Neo: No.
Morpheus:
Why not?
Neo:
Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.
Morpheus:
I know *exactly* what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here.
You're here because you know something.
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it.
You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world.
You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
Do you know what I'm talking about?
Neo:
The Matrix.
Morpheus:
Do you want to know what it is?
Neo:
Yes.
Morpheus:
The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room.
You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television.
You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes.
It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
Neo:
What truth?
Morpheus:
That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage.
Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.
I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door.
You're the one that has to walk through it.
Free your mind.
Neo:
Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus:
You've never used them before.
Neo, sooner or later you're going to realize just as I did
that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.
Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real?
What if you were unable to wake from that dream?
How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

Random Morpheus: quotes:

quote:
* There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

* Don't think you are, know you are.

* What is real? How do you define real?
* If you're talking about what you can hear, what you can smell, taste and feel
* then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

* You've been living in a dreamworld, Neo.

* It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

* Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real?
* What if you were unable to wake from that dream?
* How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

* Unfortunately, no one can be told what The Matrix is.
* You have to see it for yourself.

* I'm trying to free your mind, Neo.
* But I can only show you the door.
* You're the one that has to walk through it.

* You take the blue pill, the story ends,
* you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
* You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland,
* and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

* Remember, all I am offering is the truth. Nothing more.

* You have to let it all go, Neo. Fear, doubt, and disbelief.
* Free your mind.

PS.Long before, decades before...The Matrix movie....one of my nicknames was "Morfeyaus", a play on my name blending it with the Greek God Morpheus, who was the god of dreams in Greek mythology. It had to do with my having visions, dreams, and trancing.
I got a big kick out of watching the character Morpheus (not the god) in the movie The Matrix because he reminds me of myself in some ways.

I have to agree with Chel about being uncertain about threading to the unknown. I have a very dominant Catholic faith and there are things that are taught in Church that does not coincide with Astrology and all other things super natural so to say. This is also causing me some anxiety because I too experience things that are not ordinary, such as seeing ghosts and having visions. I don't ask for it but it happens and it scares me.

I am a Born Again Christian/Messianic Jew --totally sold out to the Bible.
I believe Astrology is God's handiwork in the heavens.
I am psychic too which is a weird thing for a Christian but God lives outside of the box.
Pray and ask Him to lead you in the way you should go.
Then,listen. He will !
