A thread at Universal Codes, which has a somewhat dogmatic theme to it...and so I am posting the link to it here. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003941.html

i feel karma is is the way of how we choose to learn through all that not so good experiences.

i feel we do have the ability to change that...by taking the experience and allowing it to change our hearts for the better, we counteract the "bad" karma coming our way...

who really knows though i just try to do what seems right in my heart and not my mind. so far my karma has changed so im sticking with my new eyes and new heart and going to live in that experience until i get new ones again...im riding the wave vrs drowning in a tsp of water...

I see karma as like "natural law" which acts as a blind machine (and can include "collective karma" of society as well as personal karma) rather than some Santa that hands out goodies or coal based on how naughty or nice someone is. Therefore no one can else can deal with your karma, at least not by simple sacrifice anymore than someone could "sacrifice" himself to stop someone else from suffering the karma of falling (or jumping) off a building. Jesus can't. Your mom can't.

I could see a Christian lifestyle affecting one's karma for good or ill, depending on which aspects or version they chose, but that's still the thoughts & actions of the person and not Jesus. Your mom can certainly affect you and thus (indirectly) your karma in good or bad ways, but the mom couldn't DIRECTLY affect your karma save in regards to herself which reflects back and forth between you (and you could work with or against that as you chose, for better and/or worse). I suppose in extraordinary cases it might seem to, for example if say someone took the blame for a crime and thus threw themselves on a sword to spare someone else, though that just changes the karma a bit for those involved rather than negating it (and unless the crime was truly extraordinary then it probably only delays a karmic backlash, assuming the person so spared doesn't torment one's self with guilt and thus suffer karmic retribution in another way instead, possibly even worse than having faced up to it honestly). But the most inspiring people (who may be martyred, such as Martin Luther King Jr.) may, through their sacrifice, change the social settings on the blind machine of karma, however.
