First time I really paid attention to the Church of Satan was about five yeras ago, when I reconnected with a friend who was living with her Satanist boyfriend. She described the whole thing to me and my thought was, "Sounds like it was invented by an Aries." I was right. Nothing against Aries in general, but the whole thing seems to represent Aries-brand foolishness to me. 'Not even interesting. IP: Logged |

Would be interesting to see how many Fire signs are members, or people with alot of Aries Its that dark, sexy, go frak yourself vibe its got going on that intrigues me! http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/13879/10-ways-to-identify-satanists/comment-page- 1/ ----- Here, according to experts in the occult, are some of the surefire signs of Satanists: 1. They come and go at odd hours, especially late at night and just before dawn. 2. They never attend church or celebrate religious holidays. 3. They often have no visible means of support, yet live well. 4. They carry strange bags and bundles, never revealing the contents. 5. They rarely laugh, or laugh under the wrong circumstances – for example, when a child is hit by a car. 6. They are often openly interested in magic tricks or the occult. 7. They may excite instinctual fear in children and animals. 8. They are not afraid of blood – in fact, they seem attracted by it. 9. They collect weird things, such as animal skeletons or fingernail clippings. 10. They tend to dress warmly even in hot weather, as if they constantly feel chilled. ------------
That’s the shocking conclusion of researcher Dr. James Phillips of Birmingham, England, a British expert in the occult. He says that millions of ordinary citizens are, in fact, Devil worshipers – and they represent a danger to every God-fearing man, woman and child! “I’m quite certain that it’s at least 10 percent of the population – maybe more,” said Dr. Phillips. “We’re talking about men and women from all walks of life – it’s everywhere. “I have treated victims of these people and if you listen to what they have to say you will see this is a major problem. “The terror of the victims is incredible. They are too frightened to speak out, and if they do they’re written off as cranks.”

^ Well, the Satanist I mentioned was a Taurus. He had Pisces SN...it seems he was trying to make sense of all that deep "death" stuff and organize it into something Virgo-rational. 'Just going about it in an unconventional way.I just picked up a book on Jeffrey Dahmer at a thrift shop the other day, came home and watched some YouTube videos about him. He seemed to have been acting as a Satanist before adopting the "theology"...like there was some primordial wellspring of instinct telling him to collect roadkill as a child, play with its innards and hoard the bones, and then he did the same with human corpses as an adult. He was planning to create a Satanic temple when he got arrested, but he said that none of that was really driving him...he wasn't trying to create magic or ceremony, he just felt driven to kill. It is terrifying, the thought of coming into contact with that. There have also been zombie attacks recently where deranged, naked men on drugs leap out of windows and gnaw on people. Not entertaining in the slightest if it's your head getting bitten. IP: Logged |

I miss the Weekly World News. Back when it was still in print I'd get that all the time, I almost got a subscription to it, but it was best just to get it at the store because back then I usually had some waiting to do and it was a bunch of quick laughs. Btw, quick tips, at least for women...a lot of guys tried picking me up while I was reading this. I think my laughing in amusement and being alone made them braver. IP: Logged |

I never considered Marilyn Manson boring. I don't care much for his music (liked it more as a teen and I like some of his surrealistic art in his vids) but every time I've heard him interviewed (even on talk shows not known for their depth) I found renewed hope that human beings are a lot smarter than they seem. And back when I was 17 I taunted an armed survivalist (who wrongly blamed me for his son rejecting Creationism he'd home schooled him in and thought I was a Satanist) who threatened to shoot & bury me if he ever caught me with his son again (he didn't say this to me but the adults in the kitchen, but he made sure I could hear) by getting my AR-15 (a gift) and cleaning it where he could see me (him in the kitchen with the others, me in the living room being a teen) while playing Beautiful People by Manson (both to annoy & defy him and also described how I felt about him and why I supported his son in rejecting his teachings, and to make sure he not only got my disdain for him but to see me for the subtle message that I know how to use guns, too). Though even then I did it to annoy him more than genuine appreciation of the music. IP: Logged |

I'm just trying not to post so many pictures (don't want to get in trouble just in case I shouldn't post) and plus if people don't find something funny or entertaining, no point in leaving it up. IP: Logged |

While from an Astrothology perspective you could consider Set the base model for Satan, but its quite different in the Biblical sense. http://www.whale.to/c/saturn.html The identities of the Gods shift over time, and especially during the confusion of the end of the "Age of the Gods" in 3114 BC. Before 3114 BC, to the Egyptians, Saturn was Ra (the "Sun"), and late in the "Age of the Gods" Venus was possibly already identified as Isis, with Mars in the role of Osiris. After 3114 BC, Saturn is identified as Osiris and Jupiter at first as Seth, and later as Osiris, to eventually be known as Ra ("the Sun"). After 3114 BC Venus becomes first Neith and later Isis, but is also identified as Hathor. Mars returns as Horus. After 2500, however, Jupiter will become the main God, as the Midnight Sun, and called Re. His worship may have been instituted in Heliopolis (the city of On) soon after 3100 BC SET, OR SETH, whom the Greeks called Typhon, the nefarious demon of death and evil in Egyptian mythology, is characterised as "a strong god (a-pahuti), whose anger is to be feared." The inscriptions call him "the powerful one of Thebes," and "Ruler of the South." He is conceived as the sun that kills with the arrows of heat; he is the slayer, and iron is called the bones of Typhon. The hunted animals are consecrated to him; and his symbols are the griffin (akhekh), the hippopotamus, the crocodile, the swine, the tortoise, and, above all the serpent âpapi (in Greek "apophis") who was thought to await the dying man in the domain of the god Atmu (also called Tmu or Tum), who represents the sun below the western horizon. ---
[i]Satan (Hebrew: הַשָּׂטָן ha-Satan, "the opposer",[1]) is the supreme evil spirit and adversary to God and humanity, particularly in Abrahamic religions.[2] It is the title of various entities, both human and divine, who challenge the faith of humans in the Hebrew Bible.[3] In Christianity, the title became a personal name, and "Satan" changed from an accuser appointed by God to test men's faith to the chief of the rebellious fallen angels ("the devil" in Christianity, "Shaitan" in Arabic, the term used by Arab Christians and Muslims).[4] In Islam, a shayṭān is any evil creature, whether human, animal or spirit. With the definite article, the Shayṭān is Iblis, the Devil. They are not really the same "type of deity" except for the baseline Astro-Theology connections which constantly jump around anyhow -Shrugs- Id lean heavily towards leaving Satan as an almost a purely Hebrew creation. ------------------ ~*~ Did you know that a circle is round? ~*~ - Tautology You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;} IP: Logged |

Nice link,
quote: The Fraternitas Saturni (FS), the Brotherhood of Saturn, has become known to English readers through fragmentary descriptions which emphasize the sensational, sex-magical aspects of this lodge’s work or else its darker, more Satanic, side. This is understandable in light of the fact that the FS is (or was) the most unabashedly Luciferian organization in the modern Western occult revival, and its practice of sexual occultism perhaps the most elaborately detailed of any such lodge. The FS represents a unique blend of astrological cosmology, neo-Gnostic daemonology, sexual occultism, and Freemasonic organizational principles. This grand synthesis was originally the vision of one man, the long-time Grand Master of the FS, Gregor A. Gregorius.” -Stephen E. meh. The Anton crowd attracts a shallow, mindless sheep type imo. Teenage boys sacrificing cats behind the local liquor shop, and the standard, one size fits all Hollywood celebrity looking for another excuse to indulge himself. But there are all sorts of satanic types, aren't there? Some more colorful, some more thoughful, some downright gross and nasty. I keep a few Aleister Crowley admiring atheist friends. I like them well enough. The hardcore Thelemites I've met are pretentious gits. Similar to talking to a Dungeons and Dragons addict back in the day. Although I find Crowley to be frustrating and tiresome as hell, I do like some of his poetry very much. But the man couldn't get the hell out of his own way. That said, I'll take a Luciferian clown over a Ahrimanic drone anyday of the week.

^^Technically, the Church of Satan holds teens who kill cats in contempt for 2 reasons: one, animals are in a purer state unpolluted by "white light" lies (that is, hypocritical religions and the life-negative mental illness caused by it) and animals should only be killed in defense or for food. Two, LaVeyan Satanism is a rejection of sacrifice or serving a higher power and killing cats for Satan is a type of worship (and they reject even "devil worship") and thus anyone who did it has completely missed the point of Satanism and is still stuck in the "white light" Christian mindset. Nevertheless, I'm sure a few cat-killing teens wanting to be seen as Satanic get the Satanic Bible...I doubt they read it, however, and if they do then they don't understand it. Also, it was Crowley who was big on killing cats, not Anton. IP: Logged |

In my experience there is often a great divide between a leader and his/her followers. Anton may say what he wishes, the fact remains he tends to attract a low brow crowd. And this was the discussion Lei and I were having as I saw it. Namely, that Satanic (forgive me I do hate that label) devotees are a boring lot.Now if you'd like to compare and contrast doctrine, that's a whole other ballgame. I'm up for it, but maybe a new thread? IP: Logged | |
