I joined one (started one with a few people, wasn't my idea though.)

We agreed to read Theosophy, but instead the 'leader' of the group decided for us read a biography of Steiner, instead. I was a bit disappointed and growing impatient with the first sitting. I'm sure there is much to learn nevertheless.

Anyone reading Theosophy? We should be getting to that one in a couple of weeks hopefully. I'd love to share notes with anyone here too.

SunChild,

First thing that came to my Mind,
was gosh, how boring, lol
I find Steiner to be tedious..
take the Golden Nuggets, though...

now, Blavatsky speaks to me in
Volumes, tedious also, but so much
of her work resonates with me. ...

Emerald, dry, I know, however, I resonate deeply with Steiner's words. People in general are yawning yet my eyes are wide with anticipation for the next page in most of his books but not with biographies!!!! There are so many... Aargh! (Why do so many Anthro's feel they have to write a bio of Steiner's life?)
HPB- yes I am tip toeing through the secret doctrine. Slowly slowly- it's one massive Gem.

Yes, Lei, Dragons... Possibly .. actually, hmm, my daughter has come home from school as a dragon because Morning circle has become about Dragons. Their teacher has this fascination.

I'm ashamed to say that of all the Steiner I have read, I never did get around to reading his bio.

Not because I thought it was great, but rather it was "so epically bad that it became good." My favorite aspect was the epic overacting of the characters, and out of all of them he won for the prize for hamming it up (I don't think I've ever watched it all the way through without laughing at at least one of his lines, just because of his mind boggling hamming it up, and I grudgingly admire him as an actor for keeping a straight face through it all). Though it looked to me like the actors had fun in making it and that's worth a brownie point from me (bonus experience points?).

I no longer have my copy. This movie was so enjoyed by many preteens that I brought it on some babysitting gigs, especially if there were any boys (most of them seemed to love the wild dwarf the most). Eventually a family moved away and one boy said he was sad he wouldn't be able to see it anymore and so I gave it to him as a going away present, and never got around to replacing it.

Anyway, your adding that pic made me think you might like what I added here:

And as to Steiner I'm thinking of reading Atlantis and Lemuria by him now, too, after having read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_race

I love this stuff.

Btw, Steiner himself:

I've decided I need to re-Read his
books, it's been a few years, and
I needed to reMind mySelf that when
I read them again, so many more things
will jump out...

Thanks

@PixieJ: Yea I like the movie for the same reasons... epically bad... so bad its good...

Ive always felt Jeremy Irons looked alot like Steiner in appearances, perhaps even they way he spoke... there is a sort of aristocratic grandeur about him
