Rosie found a lizard 2 days ago. He is visiting us in our old fish tank. I gave him a rock to bask but he prefers under the black plastic bottom thing that holds up the colored rocks. He can stay under water for long periods of time and sometimes just sticks his head up and breathes while remaining in the water. She found HER (oops, HER) under one of my flower pots in the yard.

I have no idea what to feed it. I put beta food in and lettuce. I will be setting HER free very soon if I don't figure out exactly what she is and how to properly care for her. She's nice and slimy instead of green and dry and she has tiny white spots.

I use to be able to do all those gymnastics too before becoming disabled in my 30s.
The only thing I can still do are the splits.

I saw a little girl cartwheeling across a churchyard today, It reminded me of this thread.

Fun stuff!
( I used to love catching salamanders, frogs and grasshoppers at my cottage)

I, unfortunately, fail at posting images.

The sources, anyway, were:

~The Secret Garden & The Labyrinth~

I love plants since I was a kid and I used to find my little brother a teeny-tad annoying, he he!

Picture..

And a story I'd like to share...

My innerchild grew from an experience I had around 8 years old. My Aunt was diagnosed with skin cancer that ultimately spread to her liver. My mom showed my brothers and I, many examples of unselfish and unconditional love...she took care of her until the very end, she was only 36, and left behind a 10 year old daughter and a 2 year old son, my cousins, whom also lived with us through this whole experience...

I saw my mom put her whole life on hold, for a year and take care of us 5 kids, my dad, and my terminally ill Aunt...She stopped her career, her friendships...her normal life as she knew it for another..

I got a glimpse of what God or whatever you believe in would call "perfection" in another being...

As sad as it was, this made my "inner child" grow and learn about compassion...

Ghani, Thanks! Yeah, please put some pics up! I'd love to see your little Aqua rebellious self up to some shinannigans. No, I havent heard of those books. I used to love a series called The Boxcar Children and The Babysitter's Club books. I'm sure you probably read some of those! Good to see you.

Welcome nnayram! Nice to meet you! There is a thread somewhere explaining how to post images....maybe we can dig it up.

Pearlty, That is a wonderful story. What a shining example your mother set for you all about what love truly is. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful pictures too!

Oh AG what a cute kid you were!

I was a total tomboy. Playing with the boys down the street. We would play with cars and put on plays in his back yard. My sister and the two boys down the street. Both our ages.
We would fry ants on the side walk using magnifying glasses, line up snails and step on them all, catch polly wogs and hide them in our rooms until they got big.
Then again I was such a girl too. Loved the Barbie dolls, silly puddy, creepy crawlers, holly hobbie, etc.

I was also a big fan of Raggedy Ann and Andy. A relative of mine made dolls for my sister and I. This is exactly what she looked like last time I saw her...
