The Third Eye Foundation - Little Lost SoulI haven't listened to this album in a long time. I think maybe it has grown on me very slowly. But I have been rediscovering bands I listened to maybe once or twice than set aside...Though, with all the music I do have, it is almost like discovering new bands ,since, again, this is music I rarely listened to in the past, maybe 2-5 times, some of it. But, I like obscure music and lesser known. Because sometimes it is just as good as popular music, or, even better...REALLY . I think somewhere deep in my chart, somewhere in the far reaches of that good old natal, some obscure aspect indicates that I have a love of obscure and even odd art forms, such as music. I guess that would be true, it is not mainstream, really. What music do you like? The discussion can deviate of course...naturally. But lets start with music, shall we? Maybe we can continue the trend of always mentioning what we are listening to no matter where the discussion goes, as music can have an impact on mood. It will be interesting to tie in the song a person is listening to with the vibe and mood of the post. So hi! Lets talk! IP: Logged |

Musically, I've just been listening to the stuff I put in my mp3 player. Nothing real specific, except for a song I just recorded myself.IP: Logged |

www.myspace.com/omsfriends Protect The Ones You Love is the new one. My Taurus friend asked for that guitar line on CD for her birthday. I made a bit of a song instead using that chord progression that she likes. IP: Logged |

Hiya Carl!I've been listening to Mr Scruff to cheer myself up, as he's just plain bonkers. He does a lot of stuff about fish and whales and eating pies. He animates all his videos himself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJQ2jKvPjHI&feature=related IP: Logged |

seriously you tube doesn't work where you are? I guess I thought it was everywhere. And I wonder why I thought you were in Germany...hum.About music...I used to live in Holland and it seems there was greater exposer to less famous bands. Here I only hear the same stuff over and over. I like so many different styles but especially (lately) stuff like ColdPlay and Enya.I'd like to find good "new age" music.(I HATE calling it that) IP: Logged |

New age seems to get a certain stigma. But I would recommend a distant cousin of New age, and say either ambient electronic or post rock, on the chiller side. Here are a few: Labradford - Mi Media Naranja Auburn Lull - Alone I Admire Lanterna - Sands Hammock - Raising Your Voice... Trying To Stop An Echo Loscil - Submers Beef Terminal - The Grey Knowledge Dif Juz - Extractions Pan American - 360 business 360 bypass Jim O'Rourke - Bad Timing A Lily - Wake:Sleep Stafraenn Hakon - Skvettir Edik A Ref Rachel's - Selenography Collen - The Golden Morning Breaks Clogs - Lantern Japancakes - The Sleepy Strange Peter Broderick - Float Yagya - Rhythm Of Snow Gas - Zauberberg Couch - Fantasy Water Fai - Girls in the White Dream Yatha Sidra Sugar Plant - Happy/Trance Mellow Labradford - E Luxo So Stars of the Lid - Avec Laudenum Try a few of those out for size. Kind of chill post rock/ambient. New age to me is sometimes a little to simple. The above is more complex while still being relaxed.

Explosions In The Sky is good contemplative music. It's mostly guitar with some drums. No vocals.IP: Logged |

Were you the one who told me about Denali?Check out Halou, some beautiful music and lyrics/vocals. The intensity reminds me of Denali but it has an ambient/techno feel to it as well as Indie rock. Arrhythima is the last song on the album and the way the song builds is gorgeous. And instead of bumping this http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/001600.html all the time with updates and questions, and since this is a thread all for me, I will write my ramblings here and folks can feel free to comment or, just talk music. But above thread can continue here, so this quote from the other thread...
carl, I've been in this situation before. I am the girl, I feel a strong spiritual connection and then "puff" somebody disappears from my life because they are afraid of their feelings. That is what break my heart into a million pieces. We, Saggies, understand when somebody doesn't want to be anything but friends. Talk to her, you will feel better too. ------------------------ I took her advice from the thread link above, and went to the place of residence, not there...so I left a note, with the guard/watch person who said they were happy to meet me. NOT even sure if it was the right place since I found, as I was looking for it, that everything looked the same on many streets in a row!! So if I somehow found the right place in this maze of lookalikes and the right number to boot, and the letter gets to her, that means something!

Yes, by another Chinese person..Once you are over here, you will see Chinese people who will challenge your (Western) notion and ideas of what a Chinese person "SHOULD" look like. When you are far north, you get Chinese who are more western looking because it is close to Russia. Or the parts that boarder India, darker than you would expect or Pakistan more middle eastern looking. Remember China is huge and very diverse. Even Muslim Chinese and many small minorities.
