23, do you think the despositor of the rising sign effects how people look? As in, if someone has a Libra rising, but their Venus is in, say, Cancer, they would look more like a Cancer, and less like a Libra? IP: Logged |

I'm curious about Kim Kardashian being a possible Cap Rising: I always thought of her look as more venusian...or maybe thats her Libra sun I'm seeing? Don't care for her at all, but she is very pretty IMO. IP: Logged |

Very interesting! I have always classified John Taylor as Aries rising and Nick Rhodes as Virgo rising. But I'm in total agreement with you on Guy Ritchie, Ryan Reynolds, Simon LeBon, Ralph Feinnes, and Kim Kardashian's rising signs. IP: Logged |

MVM - yes the chart ruler's sign should have some effect on looks but the dominating force is the sign of the rising sign and then planets near the ASC and/or the Sun. It's a very complex process I think. Not everyone's ASC can be guessed though.Benedict - well as above, things can be blend. Also I'm of course not the be all and end all of these people's ascendants I've never seen moving pictures of Kim and thus have not observed her. That triangular face shape and thick set eyebrows point to Cap rising for me. She has a heavy Venereal influence though as you say. Her Saturn is in Libra, possibly her chart ruler. Musette - http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/011668.html I originally thought the same re Nick and John and there is always a possibility that they are Virgo and Aries rising respectively. The reason why I changed my mind on JT is: * His eyes point downwards, specifically bottom eyelid which seems to be prominent in Gem risers. Aries Risers have bottom eyelids pointing upwards giving rise to cat eyes. * His chin is too short for Aries rising. * His lips are too full and curl upwards. They are sensual lips that are seen in Gem risers. His have a bit of Aries rising shape. I'm an Aries riser and have similar shape lips but they don't have the curl or width of his (and my Mars is in Gemini). * His face is too squat. Aries risers have longer faces below their noses and thus giving to a longer face in general. * Gem risers have an alert and defiant look about them which can be confused with the direct firey look of Aries risers. * His body is too skinny and he just looks too neutral to be Aries rising. Aries risers, including the women, there is a sense of dominance and masculinity. In photos with Simon le Bon, Simon completely dominates him. If JT was an Aries rising, I think he could challenge Simon's dominance more. * Eyebrows are too neat and more like Gemini's. * Nose that is buttonish. However, his partner selection lends to Aries rising. I think his enthusiasm is caused by a super strong Mars. If you can have a look at photos of someone like fellow knowflake Amowls*, you can look at her profile on here and she has a link to her pages. She is a Gem rising. She has a very similar facial structure to JT I believe. Amowls' profile page: http://www.linda-goodman.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubbmisc.cgi?action=getbio&UserName=amowls* Has links to photos of her on myspace. Compare http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage& friendID=1119034&albumID=135914&imageID=37872918 with http://www.flickr.com/photos/julied2u/45971163/in/set-1004530/ As for Nick Rhodes, he has a triangular face shape, wide eyebrows and eyes that are very narrow on the inside that expand drastically, which I've seen commonly in other Cap risers. His face isn't "neat" enough to have a Mercury rising. However, his partner selection again points to being a Virgo rising more so than Cap rising.

Yes hi 23. I enjoy your observations and all the time and thought you've put into your research..It's very interesting. Personally, I think I've always looked more like my sun sign than my rising. (sag/aries) But as soon as I can borrow my daughters camera, I would love your opinion!IP: Logged |

Well, according to Nick Rhodes himself, his rising sign is...Gemini! Nick's blog: New Picture GEMINI RISING I am an only child, so have no earthly siblings, but born a Gemini, I do allegedly have a twin. Although not a disciple of astrology, I am fascinated by astronomy and find it hard to reconcile that the stars and planets have absolutely no effect on the way we are. Some years ago, a friend asked me if I knew the exact coordinates of my birth place and the time I was born. I imparted the information, and just a few hours later, he presented me with a comprehensive 30 page document charting my personality and characteristics based upon astrological computer analysis. I confess that I was utterly delighted to find out that my rising sign was Gemini and that my first moon was also Gemini… Now we were six. As I read further, determined not to be drawn in by mystical fantasy, I took the role of the cynic at the psychic, expecting: ’someone very close to you has not been well recently… I see the colour blue in your life… Work has not been going the way you planned…’ You get the idea. It got off to a good start, there seemed to be a logical explanation for everything, I applied the principle that even if I acknowledged that a description of certain characteristics could relate to me, it could also relate to any number of my friends of varying star signs. Somewhat irritatingly, the pile of plausible traits continued to grow. Then the internal battle began between the twins… The cynic determined to hold his ground, relies upon science and empirical evidence; the romantic is curious and magnetically drawn towards the unknown, constantly in search of something new. Whilst the logical twin would love to say that he has the upper hand in decision-making, because of the very nature of his process, he is forced to admit that ultimately, it is the romantic who has more control. The theory is based upon the notion that the romantic trusts in chance and marvels at the way events unfold; he knows there is always a surprise awaiting. The twins stand face to face, staring at each other across the line that determines the laws of probability. The logical twin is envious of the romantic’s sense of adventure, he realizes that the other four twins usually favour this path; he knows that he cannot control the unpredictable and is reluctantly accepting of his own fate. Such is my personal dilemma everyday. Of course, this is not exclusive to Geminis; not knowing all the answers is at the core of our human condition. Sometimes you have to follow your instinct… Happy Birthday Geminis! Obscure astral greetings to all those who may share some of our traits. Nick, June 8th 2009 IP: Logged |

Mussette - thank for that It was more plausible than not plausible but he just doesn't strike me as a Gem riser. He's not the most effusive character but I know of a Gem riser in reality, and she is neither. Still it explains with his fascination with make up etc. However, if he was Gemini rising, then his Moon would be in Leo. Part of the day, his Moon falls in Virgo. I don't think he is a Leo Moon which made me decide against Virgo Rising. Cap rising would produce a Virgo Moon and I could see that and chart ruler (Saturn) would be in Aqu which explains his electronic component in the band and how he is different to others in the band. I might write to the website, not that Katy would listen to what I'd say. IP: Logged |
