I have this book which is in Spanish from a very well known author in South America- Ludovica Squirru and says which ascendant corresponds to you depending the hour you were born.

Ex: I'm a wood Rat with Dog ascendant.

and according to Kwok Man-Ho ..
in chinese time 1 hour is equal to 2 western hours ..
each chinese hour being linked to one of their astrological animals ( signs )

re : the 12 year cycle and jupiter re western signs ..
i tried .. starting at 1900 .. between the january's and feburary's ..
i got as far as 1905 and .. quit the idea ..
decided it was going to be too much of a mindfluk to go thru all the years ..
( jupiter thru western signs ends up being over the place )
