Getting back to FOL, I remember him calling someone a pr*ck because her mars was in virgo. That isn't sarcasm, that's nasty.

I'm pleased he's gone because he was completely disrespectful of people's feelings. Who needs that?

You have an excellent memory, good girl -- that was yours truly
He got several free digs in.
But karma always comes back around eventually.....

I *get* the "poor misunderstood FOL" thing (example: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/002150.html ) -- but he sure didn't help himself.
Some people are just oblivious to the effect on others of their words -- and words are all we have here.....
And some people cannot or will not put themselves in another's shoes.

Check its transits! fist was ok, if you knew how to handle him/it/her.

was constructive at times, but definitely a huge attention seeker.

definitely got problems though or issues. LOL and one of his followers had the nerve to tell me i was the one who needed to do a "butt load" of work on my self.

better question is where is VirgOh? come on virgOh, fisty has gone now, you can come out from behind that Rock

i guess when you see good in a person or relate to them in some way, it's easier to be forgiving or to take the positives into account over the negatives. a lot of things people do on this board irk me, and i find some people equally as offensive to my code of principles or whatever. i don't know if it's true or not, but i felt like he was just razzing people; testing out their defenses to bring them to the light. devil's advocate. which is why i liked him. but like i said, i could be wrong, and maybe he just wanted to annoy people. either way, ultimately we're all responsible for our own feelings and reactions. probably an aquarian (weird) point of view, but i think the most challenging questions are the most worthwhile, and shouldn't just be swept under the carpet. is the joke on us, or is it on him? either way, i think it's funny.

hmmm....

Whats the birth chart for Lindaland ever around 2005 thats when I noticed a lot of arguing and bickering started on lindaland?

I was wondering if the natal chart for when the site was created might yeld some clues and some transits.

I don't know what wrong with you guys cracking down on other users and each other.

Its an online forum its not like we see each other in person, so not everything should be taken that personaly.

All admit I had my days were I disliked other users point of view, but I didn't make an effort to get them banned or to leave.

I just figured thats there view and its an online community, if I saw them in person i whould have reacted diffrently.

Whatever happened with people being civil to each other? I don't think rudeness and outright nastiness is something we should encourage, whatever the reasons. Everyone has a reason, but I don't really think that makes it appropriate to just dump over people. I realize some people are catalysts and devil's advocates, but being one for the sake of doing it can be tacky and just not nice. And while the term 'be nice' or 'be civilized' is so simplistic, I really stand by it because while it's not always easy, it's definitely important.

Whether I like someone or not (and I did like Fist), I feel more upset at seeing them dig into others and resort to being rude - it's just deliberately tasteless. Name-calling is just bad manners, and I guess I am a stickler for this stuff and I don't like seeing people's feelings get hurt either, so to me it's also a matter of principle.

very good points, mVm, and i agree. i just can't take an empirical view on the matter of MANNERS equating to GOODNESS, when i see so many subtleties and shades of grey. for instance, would politeness vs. righteous anger (apathy vs. using the anger to make changes) be a principle you'd maintain in the face of extreme injustice? obviously that's a different context entirely, but i think fist is his own darn context, and that is what fascinated me. i still don't believe he intended to hurt anyone, but maybe i missed something (BIRD BRAIN THREAD? LINK, ANYONE?? ).

so many nuances, too many, to make a cohesive argument, but it's just like how we're not supposed to swear here, yet people use sh!t and soforth all the time. is that "bad" or offensive? to some, sure. but it's allowed..

I used a really bad word the other day and was amazed to see it got through the LL radar hahaha

I only used it as l was p1ssed off at people getting so personal and back-stabbing on this forum. You cannot be on a public forum and start talking about people behind their backs on a 'chit chat' thread. If you have anything to say, say it to the person direct. All this chatting on either email/IM/skype/FB is so obvious parallel to forum discussions.

THAT p1ssed me off. Honesty and trust are high on my list and l can't tolerate people who are 2 faced, no matter what. It's the nastiest trait a woman can have imho.

you're forgiven. it's just a word

twofacedness is lame.

but yeah i was just using that as an example of ways people can be offended, when i believe it's not necessarily warranted. WHO should be catered to? the person who offends, or the offendee? i think free speech trumps, but that's just my opinion. and not the most popular. i'm an air sign, though, can't help it. it's all data

yeah i hear you Heart Cakes - freedom of speech l def agree with, have done all my life. Whatever the world takes from one, it can't take freedom of speech and this is a public forum.

Take everything with a pinch of salt and stay in the light is how l would look at it. Thing is, sometimes words are taken way too personally and it is hard to tell sarcasm over criticism or rudeness when online! lol

Self censorship is one thing; forum censorship quite another.

AG, is it so bad though LOL

I read it and laugh but maybe l see a different perspective on it.

It's all about perspective, no?

I agree MVM, Heart Cakes has a good heart

aww, thanks! good thing i have a good heart cuz i'm ugly as sin. wait, that means i'm naive right? kinda? well, i don't dispute that.

anyhow, i didn't read the whole thread, but i can see both sides of the argument. yeah on the one hand it seems really insensitive, but on the other hand, it seems almost like he meant it as a silly endearment. call me crazy, but it's a weird sense of humour i'm kinda familiar with. think bill murray or something.

LindaLand is totally my hood *insert random Godfather reference*. Who wants to make somethin' of it *insert random urban vulgarity*?!? huh?

I'm not being mean to you, Lara just wanted to make a "hood" joke. :^D

People don't get banned for just calling someone a birdbrain. In fact, people have insulted Randall and he didn't ban them. But he doesn't tolerate trolls, and people who behave in a similar way to trolls might be mistaken for trolls. So, don't behave like a troll.

If you don't know, a troll is a person who is cruel and attacks others for fun, and then is banned and comes back under different user names to continue to be cruel and get attention. They often are on good behavior at first to avoid suspicion and attract supporters. Then they can pit people against each other and sit back and enjoy the show which is why everyone keeps saying how much "Fist" is enjoying this thread, if indeed he is a troll. It doesn't matter either way though. Don't act like a troll and you'll be fine.

OH! Here, these are the best:
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/troller.htm

You'll totally see one that reminds you of someone you know... ahh... but before you say it out-loud... find yourself. hehe

There are boards out there that won't let you say ANYTHING, and there are boards out there that will let you say ANYTHING . This is a good hood.

After the short-sighted comment about Pisces Moon types, I have no pity about the BIRDBRAIN response.

and this one, both in the same thread:

ladyneptune-

That wasn't directed at you personally that is just the usual bs about pisces you always read or hear about. Seriously don't take it so personal.

lalalinda was being diplomatic in case it was a person who only posts rarely but it isn't. People who post rarely don't come places and and get upset immediately and try to start trouble with regular posters UNLESS THEY ARE A TROLL.

Kick It was way funnier and way more relaxed than Fist was. Fist seemed to want people to be afraid of him.

Fist seemed really immature, but I wouldn't kick him off the board.

I like fellow Aquas I also like people that shake up things. Anyone that riles people is okay in my book, frankly. Better than maintaining the status quo.

And to be honest, I enjoy a good trolling now and again. Don't worry though, generally I take my trolling to iSketch.
