I disagree quite strongly too. firstly, not everyone has an ego. Try telling that to the tibetian monks! Secondly, being ego-driven is to do with one's outlook on the world and (i agree) self-importance. Look at supermodels/actors etc (except for Daniel Day Lewis)I am really not an ego-driven person but l also can't be bothered to prove it anymore to a group of people whom will never know what i'm really like. If you can't see that it's just my aries stellium then thats really your problem LL. IP: Logged |

Capricorn Ascendant has to be the worse placement for socialism. The seriousness, the aloofness, the coldness and it's the pimary target for Sugar Daddies and Jailbait Mishaps.Cancer Descendant is like a repellant for Cancerian man for me, never in my life do I think I ever met a Cancer man. Even with Venus,Jupiter,Sun,Mercury trining and Uranus conjucting my Ascendant, I still feel heavy. But I still like you Saturn, you old devil despite everything. IP: Logged |

I wonder if the band AC/DC was named after this. I'm going to Wikipedia it, lol. That's actually what I thought this thread was about just from the name, lol. IP: Logged |

Frankly, Lara, I couldn`t care less if your ASC is Leo, Aquarius, Aries or anything else. Maybe you ARE like an Aquarius in "real" life; I donīt know you that well. All I can say, here on the internet, to me, you come across as very Leo-like, which is by no means a bad thing. Leo`s are warm, passionate and enthusiastic beings. I do see that side in you. That enthusiasm and passion for what you believe in. Of course the downside of Leo`s can be a certain stubbornness, pride and ego, if you want to call it like this. I repeat it again, of course I do not know you. I only see what you chose to show here. The whole purpose of my reply here in that thread, was that all people should be certain they mean the same thing, when they use the same name, in this case EGO.
And there are at least two different interpretations for EGO possible. LL, I hope to talk to you again on another thread. But quite honestly, Lara and me on a thread, that has philosophical undertones, is not a good idea.

Back on topic.. as someone who has aries AC and libra DC I have to say that those two are a huge conflict for me. Everyone sees me coming of strong, dominant the alpha. What I really want is someone who can take charge so I don't have to, and be pleasant and generally enjoyable to be around IP: Logged |

lol, yeah, so I looked it up, and it says it stands for alternating current/direct current which is supposed to represent the "electric energy" of the band. So yeah, it would have been cool if they were interested in astrology, but anyway... :P IP: Logged |

i see more leo in lara too. or aries.anyway, sure darkdreamer.. philosophical undertones? disagreeing with lara is not a good idea in the first place, nevermind "philosophical undertones" lol. but, i like that about lara, she stands her ground, even when she isn't right.

LL,"but, i like that about lara, she stands her ground, even when she isn't right" Oh didn`t you know? Lara is ALWAYS right. No seriously, I do like people who stand up for their opinion AND are able to respect the opinion of others, even though they might disagree. But let`s get to topic again. That one is not about Lara and her ASC, but about what ASC / DSC signifies.

If you don't have an ego, you might as well not have a sun in your chart. It may be suppressed or not expressed as 'loudly' in some people, but its still there. Back to the topic: I can agree with this train of though about Asc/Dsc. I do seem to come across as the Ol' Cappy Goat in everyday life in that cold-socially-awkward sort of way. You could also blame that on the virgo moon, I guess. LOL But one-on-one I see my cancer DC/sun come out in the most silly/playful/warm/feeling of ways. *hides* IP: Logged |

Disagree. Some of the most popular people I know are Cap risers and are great socialisers. Look at Cap rising celebrities too, a lot of them are very popular. You might get the aloofness from Cap rising the first moment you speak but you have to understand that the rest of the chart can come through strongly on first meeting too. IP: Logged |

^Okay, yes it's true Capricorn Ascendants do get better and younger in age but at seventeen with Capricorn Rising, makes me feel as old as dust sometimes though it could be the fact that I have my 8th House stellium bearing on him..make me more old and more serious.IP: Logged |

Maybe so, maybe that's what you feel. I think it would be a lot worse to have Sun opp Saturn like what I have though IP: Logged |

I'm Cap rising, and I've most definitely been accused of aloofness (even iciness) and had shy periods of life. But I'm also a Leo, and throughout my life I'm mostly been pretty social, in a typical Leo way. I mean, I like performing, parties, and meeting new people who like me (lol). IP: Logged |

To answer the original question, I'm not sure about it. It's a bit of a quandry because with plenty of Aries - Sun, Mercury, Venus & AC I should be seen as Aries and come across strongly as Aries but people ALWAYS think or guess that I'm Libran (my DC). So I don't know. I like very Libran type relationships. But how you interact with people has to do with them as much as you. Some people just bring out your best and some your worst. It's more than your own AC or DC, I think.I'm not going to get stuck into the philosophies of ego or peoples' opinions of Lara. But I think that it must be very hard not knowing your AC and being into astrology that much. It would feel like this part of you is missing. But, Lara, maybe, you're not meant to know it - for whatever reason - that it's not meant to be a focus for you in this lifetime. I will just add that I have an Aries stellium too and I really believe people with lots of Aries are meant to discover some sense of self in this lifetime - a balance of ego. Speaking for myself - and keeping in mind that I have Aquarius Moon and also Uranus conjunct DC, opposite Chiron, AC and Sun - I tend to go to extremes in finding that balance sometimes. It has to do with self-worth and acknowledging that you're just as valid as everyone else and sometimes in doing that it's easy to swing to extremes and need to be brought back - usually with the honesty of others. Aries is often dismissed as being selfish - when it's just on a search for self-worth. IP: Logged |
