I have mercury in scorpio. Its retrograde and trines my jupiter in pisces also retrograde.

I am not a very suspicious person(I think bec.of the trine from jup.)I think positive. But if I sense(I have a good 6th sense btw)a bad intention from someone or if someone want to cheat me,fool me..I become very different.I got 5 planets in libra and a sag.moon so revenge is not for me but I never forget when someone hurts me.

I am a bit sarcastic..I dont like it but it is a part of me..I cant help it..
I dont easily give up,I am stubborn.
But I like it, thats the only fixed planet in my chart.(asc in leo though)

Fascinating -- I've got at least 3 markers for Serial Killer Status
Watch out, heart cakes -- no doubt you have a serial killer on your hands

The surprise was Mercury in Scorpio. The smaller second group gave a larger result than the first group. 10 out of 39 had Mercury placed here (which is 25.6%, over two and a half times the result expected by random chance) as opposed to 9 out of 60 for the first group.

Mars in Aries, which showed up in the first group, did not make the cut here. Mars in Leo replaced it with 13 hits for the combined group. Jupiter in Scorpio hung on with 13 hits.

Of course, no conclusions can be drawn at this preliminary stage, but these results are interesting because astrologers have tended to classify Mercury and Jupiter as mental planets. They are alleged to affect one’s thinking. Mercury is alleged to show a persons ability to deal with details, while Jupiter is supposed to indicate one’s ability to deal in principles, to get the big picture. In these samples, they both give above average results when they are found in the sign that astrologers claim is associated with death.

Yes Raymond, our free will is the ultimate decider, not the positions of balls of gas, rock and ice in the sky
And there's a big difference between "a LARGE percentage of serial killers have Mercury in Scorpio" and "a LARGE percentage of people with Mercury in Scorpio are serial killers," as some 1/12th of the world's population has Mercury in Scorpio

Personally, I'd like to see an astrological tally of bank robbers/embezzlers, as that would be more my style

A possible reason for straying off the moral path and committing murder might be that in Merc in Scorps, one's feelings could overwhelm one's rational/logical thought processes and loose the chains of self-control.....

Personally, I think about the sex angle more than about the death angle
And of course, the rest of the chart and aspects have to be taken into account too.....

Aza you have to forgive my wording.

And yes, I agree that free will trumps everything regarding astrology.

Wait a minute, the same author shows that Gemini Sun appeared 11 times and Cappy Moon appeared 10 times!

Very good framework for analysis.. but i believe it is incomplete.. we need a lot more data before coming to conclusion.

I think this thread has been educational for all - we even got serial killers covered!

Incidentally, I would think if anyone is capable of catching a serial killer - it would be a Mercury in Scorpio.

Their sleuthing and probing into dark matters is second to none, and coupled with their relentless drive and uncanny intuition, they should all be in Forensics or Profiling.

Maybe this is the more negative aspect of Sco Merc but my mum has Sco Merc conj her Sun. Both these planets are squared by her Moon/Pluto in Leo.

She is very penetrative, panaroid and forces her opinion on you. For example, she'll insist that she can detect that something is bothering me when I feel fine and then keep on pestering me about it until I can angry and cranky and then I am bothered LOL! However, I admit sometimes she is right and that makes her very perceptive as I am very good at hiding my anger well at times as well as well people offend me. When I am "internally angry", she can pick it up. She sees coincidence as something more, that people after her etc.

She is a very wet thinker, everything she says pounding humidity about it. A lot what she says is to provoke. However, after watching my mum recently, I detect an even heavier Leo influence believe it or not so a lot of what is said might be tempered by the square planets.

PS A lot of the characteristics mentioned sounds like my Pluto on my DC btw.

Merc in Scorp here....wow lotsa good stuff in this thread. I can't even kill a bug, I take them outside. I've never contemplated murder, well...only for amusement sake.

Definetly sarcastic. My mothers mantra "you know honey, nobody likes a smartass" Not true momma, just gotta find fellow smartasses.

Also suffer from the paranoia thing. Not that I'm scizophrenic or anything, but I have to be really careful about sleep depravation, that seems to trigger paranoic thoughts in me.

The way I think? I want to know everything about a person. Not to use against them, which they sometimes suspect, but rather to understand them. My friend says it is exhausting, because I am always saying, "and why do you do this or that?" He ansers, and still I go on with the why, why, why....

water Mercury person thinks emotionally, and the mood they are in at the moment defines whether their thinking is positive or negative that is why water Merc people tend to be somewhat paranoid, on the other hand when they are cool and collected they can see right through other people and are usually very insightful and intuitive; it is just that when they are being emotional their intuition can get forged and blinded by extreme emotions very easily.

I guess that generally Scorpio can be intense, intuitive, emotional and penetrating, although in the negative way it can be kinda paranoid and obsessed.
