GemGemGem ~

I agree with your theory. I have had a nodal connection with every single man I have ever been in love with, whether it was my North Node or South Node.

And in my case, it almost always involves a Sun or Moon contact. For example:

1st Boyfriend: My NN conjuncts his Moon - we were together for 3 years in high school and eventually mutually agreed it was time to go our separate ways.

2nd Boyfriend: My NN conjuncts his Moon and his SN conjuncts my Sun/Venus - we were together for 7 years, lived together and broke up when I was 26. I didn't want it to end at the time, but once I moved out I felt a huge sense of relief that it was over.

3rd Boyfriend: My NN conjuncts his Sun - we were only together for 6 months during my Saturn Return and I knew from the beginning that it wasn't going to last, but I still think about him with love and I got alot from that relationship.

4th Boyfriend: My NN conjuncts his Sun - again, only together for 6 months but I fell really deeply in love with him. (He actually had the same b-day as #3) He's the one who ended the relationship, but I'm the one who cut the ties off completely in the end because he was holding me back in a sense. I couldn't move on from him while still remaining his friend.

5th/Current Boyfriend: My NN conjuncts his NN, my Moon (which conjuncts my own SN) also conjuncts his SN. As far as I'm concerned, it feels like this is the man I am meant to be with and he agrees (Thank God!) so although it's very early on in our relationship, it seems to me that SN contacts are indeed a supporting influence. Who better to offer a supporting influence than a lifelong partner? And a Moon aspecting a lunar node is, in my experience, a very emotionally supportive contact.

I personally feel that both nodal contacts are equally important. We need to find the balance between the two - the NN people do pull us forward toward growth and change and evolution, but we need a soft place to fall or a place to call home while we work through much of that growth. I think this is where the SN people come in.

In fact, most of the truly supportive people in my life have their Sun or Moon conjunct my SN. I don't think they hold me back at all, they just hold my hand when my NN lessons get a little too scary.

I think it's all about finding a middle ground between where you've been and where you're going. It doesn't have to be either/or when it comes to the Nodes.

But what happens when one's NN conjunct the other SN?

afroken ~

My 2 experiences with NN conjunct SN in synastry were very different. In the first case, my stepmother and I have this aspect and we are very good friends. Early in our relationship we has a somewhat vicious fight (very strange). After the argument we talked, reached an understanding and have been very close ever since, never to argue again.

In the other case, I dated someone for 2 months although it was a (very) long distance relationship so although we spoke on the phone constantly, we only saw one another two times. We also had some horrible arguments during our time together and that was the end of that.

I tend to think that in these cases it will depend on other aspects you share with the person. Perhaps you can share your knowledge of where you've both been in order to help the other with where they're headed. Otherwise it can be like two people meeting in the middle only to carry on in separate directions.

My mom and I have exactly opposing nodes. Her Venus is on her NN in Aries, thus it's on my SN in Aries.

I don't recommend it, mainly because she refuses to learn independence except when forced to at gunpoint, and her dependence makes me a lot less willing to learn how to depend on others, because it makes me want to RUN! But if either/both of us were more cooperative about learning the other's lessons, it could work well. Depends on the person.

I think NN and SN/planet combos are past lives/connections, period. I don't like the "holds you back" thing. I like to think that there's some kind of heavy destiny there, and that's more of an issue than anything else. Though I do think the Venus on my SN might mean that I was married to her in a past life...I sure feel married to her in this one :P

Interesting topic...

With my new boss I got my Mars, Sun conjunct his NN and my Jupiter conjunct his SN.

But it's one-sided... his personal planets don't aspect any of my Lunar Nodes.

So what does that mean or how could these conjunctions play out?

My bf's Sun is on my SN (2º40'), and we felt as if we knew wach other for a long time when we met.

I don't think that he has ever held me back - in fact, I've learned a lot with him.

But it might be other aspects, like our IC/MC conjunction, that added to the feelings of familiarity.

I really enjoy SN contacts. They have added an incredible zing to synastry (Mars and Siva).

Me neither Kismet.

I think the NN conjuncts are a nuisance and give off a karmic love vibe and the SN contacts are binding and are a much warmer love.

I'd say from my experience that SN connections are familiar but not necessarily holding the SN person back. I'd say with people that I have had SN aspects with, where I am SN, I would say that they impose their planetary issues upon but I've already dealt with those issues and tend to turn a blind eye to.

For example, I have a religious difference with Mr 23 and his Jupiter is on my SN. He tells me what he thinks but doesn't force me to his beliefs but at the same time I feel I'm over it, it feels like a dead issue that he is raising, I've already made up my mind.

Kismet - what do you mean by the SN person paying up? Do you mean you were the one that benefited from your intimacy with him? Are you still with him?

Kismet, do you think that the node person would be the only one who feels this influence deeply? Can the planet person feel that sense of familiarity too? Coz in my case, it was actually my bf who talked about the feeling of familiarity first.

Thanks kismet, for your answer. That's really amazing you're so in love with this person. The fact that your SN is conjunct his Mars and Venus must give it extra spice.

It's nice to hear a SN point of view. I was the Mars person and I wondered if the SN person felt an affinity toward me. Perhaps they did!
