I think the position of ASC ruler shows where you have the most chances for personal growth; MC ruler shows lessons you have to learn in this life time; ASC R in the 7th (supported by NN in Libra, ehh) relationships (all kinds of them) are very difficult for me, I need to learn to maintain relationships to further develop as a personality and a spiritual being MC R in the 8th, all my life is a constant process of learning how to let go, it never ends ... which is difficult what about your ASC/MC rulers? ASC ruler Pluto is Conjunct the Moon and BML, overpowering my whole chart. It's in the 10th house. I have a water void. So if bringing my deeply placed strong feelings into the public arena is a growth area ~ it's interested I am getting politically active right now. MC ruler is Mercury, Trine the NN CNJ Mars, also CNJ Venus and Opposite the ASC. I know what that is all about, controlling my sharp tongue and my bad temper. Channelling it into constructive dialogue and action. It's in the 7th house, so about relating to other people on a close level, partnerships not necessarily romantic. Though, it's maybe interesting that I have Mercury Trine Mercury with my husband. IP: Logged |

ASC ruler is Jupiter in Pisces in 3rd house (and it is also the ruler of all my Sag-planets Sun, Mercury, Mars and NN). I think that placement fits me very well. It`s all about communication, language, writing, talking and so on, and also about fantasy and spirituality and maybe also illusions and confusions. MC ruler is Venus in Capricorn in 1st house. This Venus is definitely a life-lesson of mine, especialy since it squares Pluto and MC in Libra. Probably has to do with lessons about the feminine archetpye, maybe? As it is Venus? Relationships and also some kind of selfvalue or how I present myself?

I have Virgo Ascendant and Gemini Midheaventherefore,Mercury is ruler of both my Ascendant and Midheaven my Mercury is in Scorpio - transformation, regeneration, intensity, occult in 3rd house - communications, mental activity conjunct/parallel Venus - relationships, cooperation, diplomacy parallel Neptune - dissolution, idealism, inspiration, spirituality contraparallel Saturn - discipline, structure, limitations, restrictions square dwarf planet,MakeMake - not sure about that one..but with it being a kuiper belt dwarf planet, it could pertain to spirituality also my Mercury is square 2007 OR10 (Snow White), but there is no name for it yet. It's an object slightly smaller than Sedna and larger than Quaoar. a dwarf planet candidate.....as a kuiper belt object, it could pertain to spirituality also my Mercury is biquintile Eris, and that could be about diversity, ideology conjunct heliocentric South Mercury Node - collective communications, mental activity conjunct heliocentric South Mars Node - collective passion, action Raymond IP: Logged |

Sounds pretty 'promising' for me...my Asc ruler is Saturn in Sagittarius in the 12th. Must have something to do with letting go and transcending boundaries. Or belief and trust. ^__^ My MC ruler is Venus in gemini/5th house...and its unaspected except a trine to my own MC. This one's tough, Im guessing though that its tied to relationships and love. Nice topic Peri. I have my AC ruler pluto in my 12th in Libra, and my MC ruler sun in my 9th in leo. Maybe my MC ruler has to do something with learning more about life and developing more of a philosophical point of view in general. I'm not sure as how to interpret my pluto position. Any clues?IP: Logged |

My rulers have a common feel. One's in the 12th house, and the other is cnj Neptune.ASC ruler - Pluto in the 12th house. I like to identify from where inside ourselves we're operating, to find the 12th house root that takes on form in the everyday 6th house. It's not just a psychological thing for me though. I can't help but see life events as an expression of something spiritual. MC ruler - Sun in the 2nd house, cnj 5th house ruler (Neptune). The 2nd and 5th house influences make me think it's about expressing & getting paid for a creative talent. And Sun and Neptune make me think it's about self-awareness and spirituality. IP: Logged |

Asc. ruler is Saturn in Aquarius in the first house trine Mars in Virgo in the ninth house. Squares my Libra MC. and makes a small aspect to my Virgo Sun.NN is Capricorn in the first house, same as Asc. makes an aspect to Neptune,Pluto, Moon. MC. ruler is Venus in Leo in the eighth house conjucts Mercury and Jupiter in Leo in the 8th house, squares Pluto in Scorpio in the tenth house(MC and Asc. house)and trine MC. I really need to learn how to move foward and not be afraid of success or to be noticed. To not be afraid of failure. To have faith in myself and to better myself without feeling selfish or monsterous. I love my art, yet have no faith in my art and went against my passion and placed art as a hobby/minor in college, I persued medicine like everyone else in my family, though it is vet which could smooth some of that regret. Same here, Milyi, except the square Sun part. But I'll raise a square to ASC/DC and 2 oppositions to Mercury and Mars. They sure are a handful... IP: Logged |

My ASC is Aqua so my ASC ruler is Uranus which is in Libra in the 8th House. My MC is Scorpio so my MC ruler is Pluto which is in Virgo in the 8th House. (My MC is also conjunct my 10th House Scorpio Neptune which is the tightest major aspect in my chart.) I also have Jupiter in the 8th. Since both my ASC and MC rulers are in the 8th, it pretty much excludes me from really being able to objectively participate in the study/research on whether or not the hypothesis stated in the original post is true but it's an interesting theory. I look forward to seeing the responses to this thread. IP: Logged |

Great topic, Peri! An interesting read. The rulers of my ASC & MC (Mercury & Uranus) are both involved in a tight (less than 2 degrees all around) "boomerang" configuration in my chart, with Mercury as the apex. Mercury is in 12th Taurus inconjunct both my rx Uranus in 6th Sag and my rx Mars in 5th Libra (which sextile each other). Cutting through the center (and changing my yod to a boomerang) is my rx Jupiter/Vertex conjunction in Scorpio directly opposing my Mercury in Taurus. I guess my "potential for personal growth" and "lessons that must be learned" are all tied together as a result. Being 12th house ruled, I've always struggled with the concept of self/other and feeling "present" in my own body. I see the world as a series of symbols and meaningful coincidences pointing to something larger and more spiritual, so much so that it could be argued I'm never really "all there" in the every day. It would be interesting if my purpose were to learn to express (Mercury) my spiritual perceptions (12th house) in clearer ways so that others may share them. I'm less able to wrap my head around Uranus/6th house themes as they relate to learning lessons. Uranus = upheaval, revolution, individuality, innovation. 6th house = work/servitude, health, the body. Should I be learning to be of service to others in my own, unique way? IP: Logged |

I agree with that Peri. It certainly is a good fit for me. Glaucus and I are ASC/MC twins. I have a Virgo Ascendant and Gemini Mid as well. The ruler of the both being Mercury and in my 7th house in Pisces. So yes, I too like you Peri have grown tremendously in my relatioinships, mostly difficult lessons until of late. After I learned to put up boundaries, somethingIve learned Neptune demands. But learning how to maintain healthy ones for me has helped me grow alot personally.Same thing with the MC, relationships ultimately taught me how to let go, and that has been the key to moving along my career path as well as well embracing my Spiritual nature for what it really is and not what I was programmed to think. Peri. Do you think its possible that people who are in the careers that they love have consistantly worked through there lessons successfully this lifetime?

hard to say ORBM, MC ruler teaches you something that will help you to feel/be more successful and happy in life and find your true your calling (and it is not always career) no matter what other people think of itIP: Logged |

aqua rising, i have always seen that as uranus ruling the chart, though really saturn is right in there too. the planets are interestingly the two prongs of a yod to my asc, from 5th and 8th(in equal) houses - though in placidus and koch saturn is in 7th.i think the seesaw between creative pursuits and responsibility to relationships makes total sense in my life patterns...probably would have been easier if i could have had cancer in 7/8 and virgo in 5th! but that would make a mockery of astrology so never mind...
