Do you tend to detach from the people in your life and just kind of disappear?
I'm Cancerian moon and am trying to understand the other water moons better - how we're alike and how we differ.

I agree

for me, it's also spiritual outlets like meditation, prayer, turning to God(I am a pantheist),going to a unity church, and healing work with a shaman, reading Eckhart Tolle's books and listening to his lectures.

I also listen to New Age,meditation music regularly

also, cod liver oil also helps......makes me less sensitive,emotional.....so less stressed

I am also into essential oils and incense

chamomile tea is good too

I enjoy my solitude...sometimes too much

I have Pisces Moon square Neptune in Sagittarius - 1'22

I just made an appt for a therapeutic massage. I haven't had one done by a massage therapist since 2004 when I got one for a massage therapy class assignment.

this pisces moon needs regular periods of solitude - preferably 24-hr in a week! - to maintain equilibrium. 20 mins a day does NOT work for me!

as i get older i have become better at staying centred in general, but it has taken a lot of practice. "rising above it" -some people would call this dissociating! - is also a very effective method of dealing with stress. i have trained myself over the years to search for the kernel of truth or illumination rather than react to apparent stresses...also to take the opportunity to turn around my reaction to create something more positive. "stress is an internal job".

What happens when you don't get your solitude Pisces mooners? Do you lose it or get irritable? I am a Cancer moon and love my solitude but don't get much since I had a child who is an energy ball who tends to need constant attention... and I am less than pleasant these days!

I always get my solitude

I live alone in a small studio apt.

I don't even really know anybody in my apt complex because I don't talk to people.

I love solitude but I hate lonliness. Sometimes I detach myself occassionally in life but I try to set up an anchor so I won't drift to far out into the abyss that is me.

It doesn't.
Escapism. It tries to avoid all this by "running away".

maybe your child's energy is no coincidence! mine is similar (her chart is almost ALL fire!). she had maybe 2 naps that i can remember, apart from when she was in her stroller. we took some walks, let me tell you!

i learned to get up early and stay up late to have peace bookending my day(sleep is not as important as that refuge for me). it helped that her father had her for 24 hours each week. frequently i did nothing but chill during those 24 hrs!

it was a lot harder when he was living with us though when he was i had some time during the day when they were both out...and he was a cancer, so we could actually relax together without talking.

I don't have a Pisces moon but my moon is in the 12th, so I can kind of relate a little bit I think.
I tend to withdraw completely when stressed since I feel emotional overload a lot. I think 12th house moon or Pisces moon can be highly empathic, and craves solitude to refuel.
Also daydreaming, and dreams in general have been a good way to recharge.

I realize I'm not part of the Pisces moon club, so maybe this doesn't apply at all

And no, I don't think they 'run away' from dealing necessarily...it's just that they get overwhelmed and need a degree of 'space' in order to deal from a more centered place.

Katatonic, my little guy is Aquarius with Leo Moon and Gemini Rising. The energy level is something I'm happy about (for him) but that combined with the fact that he NEVER EVER stops talking makes me crazed some days. Sometimes I think most of his energy is mental energy, though. Thank G-d he's in school M-Fri, but that's when I'm at work, and not much solitude there, although it's still more relaxing than home! Anyway, back to topic.... I wonder if Cancer moons need solitude, too, because I know it applies to me, and my husband, also a Cancer moon, seems to crave it.

Ohhhhh yes, Solitude is the operative word for a stressed-out Lunar Fish
We need that time alone to recharge, reassess, and process our scattered and out-of-focus bundles of emotions.
Since I’m landlocked right now and cannot be by the ocean, I read – that takes me out of whatever problems are paramount in the moment and allows me to mentally escape into another reality.
Sitting outside, especially at night, letting the incessant breezes in this part of the country slide over my skin helps too. I used to find solace in the bottom of a bottle (no kidding) but those days are past now, alcohol is too dangerous to my peace of mind and just causes more stress.
The ocean, or other moving water such as a bubbling river or stream, is the best panacea for me –

”We have all experienced this positive effect, regardless of our proximity to waterfalls or the ocean. Every home has a built in, natural ionizer-the shower. Our daily bath rituals are, in effect, the practice of preventive medicine. Research has shown that falling water creates thousands of negative ions by splitting otherwise neutral particles of air, freeing electrons to manifest their vitalizing function. These electrons join up with smaller air particles, thus giving them a predominantly negative charge.
Waterfalls have always been the favorite habitat of mystics and artists. The inspiration and romance generated at places like Niagara Falls and Yosemite have a direct relationship to the [raising of] serotonin levels in the blood, caused by the waves of negative ions from the spray of these falls.”

"glaucus what do you do with the cod liver oil. do you mix it and then ingest it? if you do what do you mix it with. "

I take it straight from the bottle. One teaspoon per day. 410 mg of EPA,625 mg of DHA per serving.

I get the Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil brand which has a natural fruit flavor. I get it from Co-op Natural Foods store.

I stress myself by visualizing uncomfortable situations. I have this habit if regressing back to the past for comfort or too the future when I'm stressed out. Also the dreamy side of Pisces moon seems to gear more towards just unweary and afraid of negative things when I'm stressed. My Pisces moon is in the 3rd house, so over thinking communication between people is also another problem I have.

Anyone familiar with Scorpio moon in the 4th house? Or Scorpio moon in general?

My mom has Moon in Scorpio in 5th square Pluto in Leo in 3rd

she's very intense......she has all the traits that are attributed to Scorpio.....both good and bad.

I feel that she's more Scorpio than me with my Sun,Mercury,Venus in Scorpio

when I first got into Astrology, I was reading about the Scorpio mother in a book on Scorpio and felt like I was reading all about my Gemini Sun mother.
I was skeptic of Astrology at the time.

finding out my moonsign,Pisces began the erosion of my skepticism of Astrology

finding out and verifying my hunch of my mom's moonsign,Scorpio furthered the erosion of my skepticism of Astrology to the point that I felt that I had to look deeper into Astrology.

crabbypatty - i can relate to being on the receiving end of a chatterbox...my daughter's NN is gemini, and with leo on the asc and all that fire, she STILL will talk all day and half the night -

i think yes, cancer moons also need some solitude or exposure to water, as zala pointed out. as i said, one of the best parts of my relationship with my cancer hubby was that we were able to relax in silence without feeling neglected or guilty! congrats on sharing that with your husband...a definite plus!

zala, this is off-topic but as you mentioned showers - you may already know this - the chlorine in the water can exacerbate your skin-thing...they make filters now to take it out, and other not so nice additives...

I'm a 12th hse Cancer Moon and I definitely need a lot of solitude and 'peace'. I need to be somewhere quiet and alone when I feel down or stressed. Having said that, it's important for me not to be alone too much.

I've observed that Pisces Moon and Scorp Mn both also need solitude, they need to shut the world out. I've noticed, could just be a coincidence, that BOTH these moons tend to push people away when they're stressed. Especially the ones they care about the most. It's not just about wanting space they actually distance themselves completely - they disappear.

Wow Glaucus, I also have a Pisces Moon squaring off with Neptune in Sagittarius!

Like most of the other Pisces moons I'm an escapist when it comes to stress. I zone out with a book, through writing, listening to music, or being near water.. especially saltwater. I have quite a few friends with moons in Pisces, including my mother, and we all seem to anesthetize ourselves and escape issues with movies, books, or art. The male Pisces moons I know seem more likely to "escape" through visits to the gym. I myself prefer to go swimming, on a long run, or a long bike ride out in nature.

My aspect with Moon square Neptune does seem to enhance or encourage this escapist tendency. Although I will say it seems to drastically help my writing projects.

I have often wondered if this approach to stress (tuning out the world) was an artifact of being a triple water sign (Sun Scorpio, Moon Pisces, Cancer Rising) but it would appear - from the other lunar fish - that it might be Pisces working most of this angle.

There was also a pondering earlier about the similarities of Scorpio Moon and Pisces Moon when it comes to shutting out the world. There is a definite parallel to draw here. The only man I ever thought of marrying was a Pisces Sun, Scorpio Moon, and Capricorn Rising. When we lived together the household practically reverberated with emotional energy. When things were good it was blissful and amazing.. like floating about life on clouds with angels singing. And when either one of us was stressed with work or family the other immediately became likewise stressed picking up on the energy without a single word said. Instead of talking we'd both retire to our own personal space (his den, my writing area in the second bedroom) and decompress. Hours later, one of us would break the solitude.. but time and space was intensely important to us both.

Pisces moon here..and I don't deal with emotional stress..or any stress well at all.
I'm so sensitive and perceptive that I feel everything from everyone.. The pisces moon is both a gift and curse..sometimes I feel like it leans more towards the curse side of things. I can feel peoples sadness and or stress and negativity and it becomes mine..or I sympathize too much...and feel bad for people and overlook myself a lot of the time.
I worry about everyone and everything... so that is the most stressful thing to overcome..I've been trying though to stop making mountains out of molehiles...and try to convince myself that whatever the problem is at the moment it will pass and everything will turn out ok..because it usually does. I really have to consciously make the effort to think that way or I would be in a constant state of fear and worry all the time. Not good..

I usually try to suppress stress by keeping me busy doing no matter what, or distract myself by watching movies.
