The solar eclipse coming July 21st is going to be conjunct my natal Jupiter/chart ruler in my 8th at 29 degrees Cancer. Does anyone have good insight or experience into what that might mean for me? It is also conjunct mine and my b-friends composite progressed sun also in the 8th.

Yes, the Solar Eclipse is going to be at 29 degrees Cancer so an exact conjunct.

I am a little nervous but sounds like it could be a good thing.

Eclipses are also beginnings too.

Solar Eclipse is an enhanced New Moon

Sun conjunct Moon is New Moon

A Solar Eclipse occurs when Sun and Moon are in both conjunction and parallel.

here is something on the upcoming solar eclipse

I'm hoping so much that it will involve a relationship beginning. It's way past time! I'll post an update here after the eclipse.

Oh, Kismet, that's not even funny. People get really scared when they hear stuff like that, even if it is in jest. I know you said it tongue in cheek, but I don't want her to be scared now.

Whoa! Don't scare me. It had actually crossed my mind but I'm going to believe that won't be the result.

Now I'm going to have to search every possible Pluto aspect from my natal, progressed and transits.

Lots of times an astrological "death" is metaphorical (says Lucia "8th House Stellium" 23)--all about personal transformation, and it comes with a rebirth! So, no worries about that.

Anything happening at 0 or 29 degrees indicates major life changes.

Kismet,

Everyone dies and not everyone has a planet in the 29th degree.

Eclipses usually don't herald death for the native unless the natal chart promises it.

By your chart, I'd say the lunar hitting your pluto in the 10th and then solar hitting your jupiter in the 8th will have something to do with career or the finances of another - maybe a male close to you, etc.

Well, I just had my pAC at 29 gemini for at least a year, and I am still here.

Eclipses aren't just about endings and it really is so simplistic to say that a person having an eclipse in their 8th house will die. The 8th house is about other things, like finances, taxes, and sex.

My pAC was exactly trine pPluto and also trine p Venus in the 8th. I'm not dead.

I think hers will be about career,or a man, especially since tSat is near her MC too.

I see eclipses as huge turning points. You can say "every ending is a beginning, and vice versa", but that doesn't adequately describe the way I've seen eclipse energy play out in people's lives. An eclipse brings things to a head and makes them feel more intense--so they're times when people tend to make significant changes, or experience changes in how they feel.

29 and 0 degree transits, progressions, or aspects in a solar or lunar return are similar, actually--they are intense turning points in a person's life, moments of great change.

But I hate deterministic astrology (and any kind of deterministic "science," too)--it's not accurate, meaning we can't predict when someone will die, but it can be self-fulfilling, causing someone to feel grief and agony because some aspect says he'll "never marry" or he'll "always be poor", for example...astrology cannot predict events, only energies. It's worth studying so that we can work constructively with those energies. If we could accurately predict when someone would die by looking at his chart, it would be a very, very different world indeed.
